Ishi to the Rescue?
Well, when you’ve lost 5 in a row and you can’t score runs, I guess the natural move is to call up Travis Ishikawa to the rescue. Too bad, I was enjoying watching Duvall try to run into one every now and again.
Cain to see Dr Andrews…..
As my old man said a while ago, the sun is setting on this season……
I would have liked to seen more of Duvall. Whatever.
There is still a lot of ball to play. Get Pagan and Belt back, and I still think this team makes a damned good run at the division.
Okay…five in a row…she had her chances. It is time to swap out Miss Cadillac Bumper Bullet tits. New BBOTD, please…that bitch is not getting it done.
yup. I get home later tonight, I’ll try to swap her out then
Or maybe Susac?
Pence RF
Blanco CF
Posey 1B
Sandoval 3B
Morse LF
Susac C
Uggla 2B
Crawford SS
Hudson RHP
I have to admit: that’s a line-up. It has the required 9 batters, and all the positions in the field are covered.
For some reason, I’m reminded of last season when we all thought things couldn’t get any worse, and then the Giants batted out of order in the FIRST INNING on national television. Ah, those were some times…..
I think they were looking for a guy who wasn’t in danger of toppling over when he stretched for a throw. Anyway, he’s probably just a bridge to Belt.
you’ve got to be a little psyched that Ishi is back, even if it’s just for a week. Right? He’s one of your main men, right?
Yeah, happy to see him. I like Duvall but if Belt’s coming back soon anyway, I think it makes sense to just send Adam down now. We’ll see him again in September or if they fall out of it before then. They can use the defense now and hell, Travis may pop one or two himself.
Alex Pavlovic
@AlexPavlovic Bochy said Ishikawa will be bench option. Posey will play more first until Belt returns because they don’t want to wear Posey down.
I’m not really understanding all the Uggla hate. And it is severe with the KNBR callers. Jesus, the guy sucks but he didn’t have anything to do with the team going 6-20 at home over their last 26. You want to point fingers, point them at Morse who drives in nothing. Posey who seems a million miles away from his MVP season. Pablo who is just totally underwhelming. There are a lot of guys who have disappeared this year and Uggla isn’t the problem with this team right now……
That’s true, but Uggla’s not part of the solution going forward.
Yeah but Uggla has the perfect name to describe the current season especially when that unfortunate ball went through his legs. Kind of symbolic of the miscues in the field.
Only slightly worse than the Giants game last night was the latest episode of Under The Dome.
According to TV.com, these are some of the things that have happened on a season and a half of the show:
The Dome came down
A fire burned that house down and stopped everything in town
There was a meningitis outbreak
The military launched a huge bomb at the Dome
There was a water shortage
There was another water shortage
A large underground fighting league started in the abandoned cement factory
Joe almost had sex with Norrie against the Dome
Several manhunts occurred
Food supplies were depleted
The Dome went all black
Magnet Dome!!!
The great Caterpillar Plague of 2013 or whenever this show takes place
There was almost a manmade Swine Flu epidemic
An axe murderer terrorized the populace
twitter knowledge….
Jerry Melady @jerrymelady 28m
@CSNBaggs Why is Blanco batting 2nd? He shouldn’t even be in the Major leagues. They wonder why they can’t score runs. He’s part of problem
hahahahaha, I just got a message from San Dawg who was surfing in SD today. He asked me to pop up an inspiring thread. Sorry dude, I jsut got your message and I’m still traveling. Be back tonight with some inspiration billowing into tomorrow’s thread, I promise. lqtm
Duvall going down to the Fresnobus is probably to his benefit as being a young player who was tearing it up down there and mostly riding the pine here rust was setting in. Abreu seems to have got the shit end of the stick. He was a factor over the past couple seasons. So now Perez has yo-yoed back up. Go figure.
Sometimes these acquisitions go south, e.g., Soria is getting torched by the White Sox. Pfffttt! Bet he wishes he was in the Lone Star State.
They all suck, but at least Duvall has a shot, No need for him to waste away up here.
Well, Uggla has what 4 errors and gone 0-16 in his short time here? Yeah, everyone else sucks, but,he’s the newest, baddest latest suckfish..
The tide rolls in, the tide rolls out. Sometimes crimson, sometimes burnt-to-a-crisp sienna. At times Crayola, often crapola.
I loved Loo’s line about “what could we get for Peavy?” Seriously, they might be able to flip him for a better return then what they gave up. I actually think teams have done that in the past.
I know. Sounds crazy, but no crazier than my 401k portfolio.
I turned the game on a little late last night, two runners were already on, watched one pitch and a run scored. Turned it to the news? Went back to the game watched one more pitch, another run scored. Turned back to the news and then back to the game for another pitch and that was it I was done with it.
let’s if I get past 3 pitches tonight…
Gawd. Another great start. I. can’t. take. it. #firstworldproblems
Fuck, are we ever gonna get of a 1st inning unscathed? Shit now Hudson giving up a bomb to the lead off hitter!
Oppo bomb at AT&T. Might be getting bent over again tonight……
Ok two batters in the top of the second…I’m done…
So much fun at the ballpark these days!
Down 3, 2 bombs, ballgame
WTF? Three zip already? See ya guys on the flip side. Taking a break from baseball tonight.
who can blame you [WCBY]
Susac looks like a mini me version of Posey.
Morse’s HR is first by a Giant at home in 36 games? Could that really be true?
No, it can’t be true. Posey had one Sunday. At home. Right? Maybe first by a Giants outfielder. Or first by a player whose last name starts with M. Or first by an Anglo-Saxon.
I saw that too. Surely they meant first HR by Morse in 36 games at home?
yeah, brain cloud moment when I heard that.
What about them Rays? Won 11 of 12. Okay. Back to our regularly scheduled existential angst.
Is Ishi there, in uniform? It would be so poetic and gratifying to see him win the game on a walkoff. Only thing better would be to have them track down Glass Franchez by GPS ankle bracelet, and have him do it.
You know, what about this? Bring back Emmanuel Burris. Give him a ticket outta Syracuse. Put him at 2B. Can’t be worse than You Know Who.
If Ishi can come back, so can E-Burr.
And if those dudes are coming back, we need to tell Colorado to watch out below because they’re about to get the shit kicked into them as we fall into last place…..
To quote Leonard Cohen: “And wasn’t it a long way down?”
Blade, Colorado is closing in on worst record in MLB, that’s gotta give you a little pep in yo step, right?
Spose you can call it progress: Morse runs into one and thus no shutout tonight.
Vin Scully’s first year on Dodger games was Connie Mack’s last as a manager. Either Scully or Mack has worked in MLB each season since 1886.
Ken Rosenthal tweeting that Pirates get Lester for Alvarez and Tabata.
now I can’t find that tweet; oh well, not going to SFG
Looks like yet another starting pitcher the Giants will be tipping their cap to. Tipping the cap. Reminds me of this song:
When a problem comes along
You must tip it
Before the cream sets out too long
You must tip it
When something’s goin’ wrong
You must tip it
Now tip it
Into shape
Shape it up
Get straight
Go forward
Move ahead
Try to detect it
It’s not too late
To tip it
Tip it good
Did get a tip that the Giants would lose again tonight, seems like a good tip now .,
The best thing there about Uggla is that at least he won’t hit into a double play.
Lasorda could be describing our offense: “couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a f*cking boat” http://youtu.be/fzjWQF1oP2M
I know he is one of the icons of the hated blue, but Lasorda is just flat out funny as hell. I had seen this before (and some of his other tirades). Love it.
It’s sadly hilarious that Uggla hasn’t gotten a hit yet.
fits right in #chemistry
Last inning, Krukow described the game tonight as a pitcher’s duel. That’s just not correct. There’s a certain type of game that is a pitcher’s duel, and this ain’t it. Krukow probably knows that, and is trying to spin this.
This ain’t chemistry, this is bad craziness.
AaaaaaaaaaNd Blanco has really got me down. This whole team has got me down. We are losing closer. How’s that for a moral victory?
Still and all another game where the opponent has scored more in the 1st inning than we have in 5 games.
Never mind. I missed the first couple innings. Bleeeeh.
Boch is running out of post game excuses by now, while tightwad ownership stay smug and content, giving him no help to improve this team as they spiral out of control..
Too much to ask Pablo to go deep just once with the game in the line.
Morse might be able to hit a $2 dollar heater from McDonalds, but not a value meal breaking ball..
Put a fork in em. Lot of baseball left to get their sorry asses buried.
Watched. Couldn’t anymore. Couldn’t not. Watched 8th to see Pence lunge at a horrible pitch to pop up against Koufax. Turned it off. Turned it on to see 9th. Morse K’ed against Blylevin curves. Ishi watches 2 fastball strikes then flails at curve to end it. Perfect.
Salty..Re Pablo hitting one with the game on the line…I would say the same about Posey. Our star / MVP level player is missing, and has been for a while. Pablo has hit like this for years now. Shouldn’t surprise.
He’s had a disappointjng year but has hit 3 late and close. Fat ass- 0.
Can’t win at home….perhaps a win tomorrow to avoid a sweep.
Ishi to the rescue. Good sardonic humor Bf.
Little consolation, but Sherps were bad enough to lose to Cubs in 16 yesterday. Scored 3 in first off the awful and overpriced Edwin Jackson, and never scored again…at Wrigley.
Winning pitcher for Cubs was their catcher, Baker, who pitched a scoreless 16th, then walked and scored game winner vs. Rox starter. GHs guy Bonifacio (played 3b/CF) 4-7 with a HR, raises avg. to .279…OB still at .318. The late and not lamented Danville Nate went 1-7 and is now under Mendoza line at .198. wow.
Speaking of Cubs, I’ reading Geo Will’s “A Nice Little Place on the North Side”, anecdotal short book about Wrigley Field and Cubs. Good read, lots of interesting stories, not a chronological history of team (and its futility). Couple good ones about Krukow, too.
Funny thing, the biggest complaints about them abandoning all day games at home were from the local bar and restaurant owners who preferred Cub fans spend their food and drink money somewhere besides the yard.
3 out, and heading for .500.
I was in the car when the game started (we were on our way to pick-up the lastest dog we are fostering). Fucking Hudson gives one up. Un-fucking-real. Came out a bit later foster dog in tow, and and heard Morse run into one, but it is now 3-1. Disgusted, I did not turn the game on when I got home. I did check scores on my phone…8th inning, 3-1, and said FUCK IT.
Please…win a fucking game today. You really are not going to get swept 0-6 for an entire home stand are you boys?
I am not totally throwing in the towel. As I have mentioned the past couple of days, I want to see how they fare with Belt and Pagan in the line-up regularly. I will then decide if it is time to start scouting out ledges.
Someone (if it has not happened already) needs to turn over the post game spread and go ballistic.
Oooh oooh that smell, can’t you smell that smell…
Question how long it takes Pagan and Belt to get in a good groove. Belt was struggling before he went down again.
If I could make predictions/see the future like that, Salt, I would be a rich man. I am just saying that the team played a WHOLE HELL OF A LOT BETTER with those two in the line-up. Solves one VERY BIG PROBLEM…and that is having to use either Blanco or Colvin in a starting role.
Please, please, please…swap out the BBOTD. Cadillac tits has got to go…
As Pete Franklin would say…FLUSH THE BUM! (Bumette?)
Just took a gander at the bb. Good pick chuck with mink DeVille. Liked his early stuff.
Yeah, saw them years and years ago, fun shit.
Belt is going to make the roadie. Pagan is still 3 weeks out I’d think.

GO GIANTS! We want that 1-5 Homestand (beats the fuck out of a ZERO and six homestand).
new, depressing, thread….
