The Panda’s Sad Demise
I wish I knew a Red Sox fan. Actually, I do know one. Maybe I’ll call him. I’m truly interested in how the Red Sox fans are feeling about our beloved Panda. Besides sucking this year, he’s now slipping away from games to go check out the hotties on his instagram account. Think about that. So unfocused on the game, he’s not just thinking about the ladies he’s LEAVING THE GAME to go check them out on his phone.
He took some shit from Giants fans but deep down he was always loved and will be forever. But that’s due to the 3 World Series he helped us win. He’s bequeathed the Red Sox no trophies. But he is taking 100 million from them.
Anyone got a pic of the chick he was so desperate to click “like” on? Hope she was worth all the shit he’s getting now……
Here ya go, Flav.

i’m surprised he hasn’t liked the BBOTD
true dat.
Fried chicken, beer, video games and Diva Legacy. Boston, putting the club back into the clubhouse.
brilliante…
Oh. I see it made POTD.
Thank you, Mr. K.
Good for him. I’ll forever be thankful to him for his contributions to the trophy case and will never forget game 1 of the WS in 2012, but screw him. The way he left the team was unnecessary and ridiculous.
I’m withya. I was at that game. Never forget it. But, adios, Pandoa.
I am with Sarge. Many times I have said I appreciate Pablo’s contributions to three in five, but with the way he acted out during contract negotions talking crap about his Giant team mates, I could give a flying fuck about him. No love here for Pablito. Fuck him…if he flames-out and is DFA’d down the road, I could give a rat’s ass. Perhaps some would think it sad, but I do get a bit of satisfaction when he is struggling or pulls some dumb-ass shit like this.
Great win last night. Vogey is quite the work of art. One game the dude gets lit-up like a christmas tree, and the next game he pulls out a gem like last night’s effort. I just want to see the boys go take at least two from the bumbinos this weekend. BEAT LA!
Guess it’s out of the question, but any way we can get a moratorium on Sandoval updates etc.?
I really don’t care what he does or what happens to him, any more than guys who did less for SF like AJ.
The $100 mil offer to him was dumb anyway; glad he went to Boston and SF saved the money and ultimately it gave Duffy an opportunity to show what he can do, which has been great. Sando is non issue to SF.
Time for Belt to get back in the groove. He is 6 for his last 40 and batting .170 for month of June, with an OB of .250 (so no walks either) and OPS in .500 range. After a great May he hasn’t been able to sustain production and btw is only hitting .239 off LHP.
He stung a couple up where flyballs went to die in Safeco, but hitting during warm weather in LA should be a lot better, and as has been noted no Kershaw or Greinke, LA’s 2 best SPs by far. With the way Pagan has been going and without Pence, Belt in middle of the order needs to start hitting and producing.
Giants rotation for this 3 game set is Heston Hudson and Lincecum, so LU is gonna need to score early and often.
I find the Pablo drivel old, too, but I do not think we should put a clamp on anyone’s ability to comment on whatever they want (outside of troll action). If you don’t particularly care for a post…just cruise on by, IMO.
Agree with you on Belt, and would add that Pagan needs to get it going, too.
Wille: Belt drew two walks last night, scored both times and was responsible for igniting the initial rally with his BB. See my remarks from last night on that. Agree with you on being fed up to here on Panda pabulum. He’s history here.
I’ve been severely distracted lately and haven’t been able to watch very many games. It was nice to see some crooked numbers go up on the board last night.
Full disclosure, I do not have a cell phone.
People’s fixation with these borders on ridiculous to me.
I see guys and gals walking around downtown where I work totally oblivious to surroundings (or car traffic in a crosswalk) head buried and tapping away in their phones, and customers in store think nothing of carrying on loud personal conversations or conducting business calls for 20 minutes while looking around.
Reminds me of Last Poets, “Jones coming down”.
Hey, it is a choice, and you are the exception. I have had one for years (was an early adopter, if you will), and I find it hard to imagine life without one (although I do put mine down regularly). They are a great tool, but like most anything, can be abused. I know about what you speak (the way folks are oblivious), and that bugs me. Many people have no fucking ettiquite when it comes to using their phone. I try to be cognizant of how and when I use mine.
When Judgment Day comes (or whatever Skynet or the Terminator causes), they’ll point back to smart phones being the reason people turned into zombies . . . tap, tap, tapping away while walking down the street oblivious to everyone else. In Ecuador and a few other countries I have been to, people actually talk at city squares, parks, restaurants, etc. 🙂
sadly I myself having allowed myself to fall into this wretchedness, and I don’t even have a so-called smartphone; zombies….apt word
I held out as long as I could. Was pretty much forced to get one about 2 years ago. It’s useful at times but generally I hate the fuckin’ thing…
My sister gifted me with a trak-phone back in February. Have yet to activate it.
Thought this was a good article on Kerr. Love the end of the article where he is discussing next steps “I just want to sit on my couch watch the U.S. Open and drink beer.”
http://tinyurl.com/ngsz4qb
Yeah, cell phones are a necessary evil, and besides, what else is there do to on bart but read the blogs, and check out FB? That’s my morning anyway.
But people walking around oblivious to their surroundings are annoying and should be smacked in the back of the head. TIme and place and all that. It is especially annoying when people walk real slow while others are trying to get somewhere. Or people having to read shit and text while walking down a stairway.
Here she is Diva Legacy . . .
Bahaha…good one Dirt.
Maybe Pablo meant to type ‘devour leg of lamb.’
Way too made over for my liking. Now, I would not throw her out of the sack for eating crackers, but way too much make-up, IMO.
and this one he “Liked” to . . . http://www.gq.com/blogs/the-feed/diva-legacy-01.jpg
I’m always amazed at the skanks that get pros in trouble. Look at all the hashtags. She’s probably a bot. Lulz.
I’m sort of surprised Bochy hasn’t put Belt in the 3 hole to try and get him going. I guess going L,L,L at the top isn’t something he wants to do. Maybe Posey in the 3.
Jenkins had something in Chron today about All star ballot stuffing:
“In 1957, fans elected 7 Cincinnati Reds to start the game. Commissioner Ford Frick stepped in to add Willie Mays and Hank Aaron to the LU, replacing Wally Post and Gus Bell.”
Hey, Aoki is having a fine season, but if he has more votes and starts over Andrew McCutchen and Giancarlo Stanton, that’s as messed up as 7 Royals and Mike Trout.
I don’t hate Pablo. he is who he is. An undisciplined adult. So what. Is he a good ball player? I would give him a yes vote. He did not like all the rules and discipline the Giants imposed on him. So he left. He comments were and still are childish at best. Degrading to his fellow teammates at worst. Pablo can do what he wants now. He will blow off the Boston fans and Media. He has a MVP and 3 rings. He is still playing strictly to have fun.
As a team, the Red Sox have a chance to do something really strange: finish in last place 3 out 4 years, with the non-last place finish being a World Series championship.
One of the best things about a smart-phone is when you’re in line at a grocery store or somewhere. It’s nice to be able to get some use for that time.
Too bad the Texas reliever gave their game away last night. The dude totally choked. Two walks and a balk. So you wanna be a big league manager? Yikes. What a job.
Those old time ballplayers sure had it tough. Why, they had to grab a “handy” magazine and lock themselves in a stall before they could, ah..like a photo.
That’s a good one, John! lqtm…
Vogey was pounding the zone with his fastball last night, and painting the corners with it too. He looked solid.
Sounds like the ESPN crew (video) is advocating taking Panda into one of the shower stalls and beating the shit out of him. Hilarious.
http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/13111237/pablo-sandoval-sideshow-cost-red-sox-manager-john-farrell-dearly
Good, solid article, and fair. Nice piece of writing.
The guys in the video are over-the-top, though, IMO.
Twitter reporting Pablo just liked this:
http://tinyurl.com/psokw3q
I find it hard to believe that the Dodger players are as placid and nonchalant about the rivalry with the Giants as this article contends. If they are, then they are a sack of shit loser team . . . I will take Bumgarner’s fiery “take no prisoners” attitude every day of the week.
http://espn.go.com/blog/los-angeles/dodger-report/post/_/id/15089/dodgers-looking-to-stem-the-giants-tide
The thing I always said that ticked me off about Panda was that his constantly being out of shape disrespected his teammates and organization. Our fear of him going out of control after signing a longterm deal looks now well founded. The main thing is waste of talent. Panda was a very good player for SF, I think he had the skills to be great. For some reason, he’s chosen to largely waste that potential. The Giants lucked out , maybe, that he left. Though I think in the Bochy clubhouse he would have fared better than Boston’s. No way in hell the Giants knew Duffy could do what he’s doing now. What a nice surprise and contrast to Panda’s travails…
Saw an aticle where MLB is voiding 60 million votes due to fraud. Sounds like most are from Royal’s fans. Really???
Geez I was still using coffee cans& strings till recently..
In all seriousness AK, I got rid of my landline about a year and a half ago. Best decision I ever made. I think I was one of the few dinosaurs that still had one in my circle of friends. I’ve also had a smart phone (Moto X, which I love) for the last year and a half. Great devices, except as many of you have indicated – they are intrusive and rude when you are with a friend, especially on a date. I always turn mine off when I am with the latter and avoid using mine when I am with friends or family.
So the McCovey Chronicle is asking what happen to the rotation when Cain and Peavy come back.
http://www.mccoveychronicles.com/2015/6/18/8808449/sf-giants-rotation-jake-peavy-matt-cain
When I first thought about it, I thought Heston gets sent back down (damn you, options, damn you) and Vogs back to the pen, but they make the point of Timmy and Vogs to the pen. First off, at the start of the year I thought it was strange to have two long guys but now we’re talking three? When Matt and Jake went down, Vogs and Heston got the call with Petit staying in the long guy roll, which the team rarely used him as (I don’t get that shit at all). It’ll be great to get those two guys back, but this could go strange rather quickly. Timmy is in a contract year, does he want to showcase himself as a starter, or is he good showing that he’s a team guy? Vogs, seems to make a ritual out of his starts, same routines, etc. could he pull off having his game face on 24/7 in the pen? And, what is up with Yusmeiro? Is he a long guy. spot starter or trade bait?
After all that, is it Strickland and Broadway that go down or does Broadway hit the highway with a position player?
What i didn’t like about it was that they rated Hudson as the #3 and Cain as the four. We all pretty well know Hudson’s limits now ~ five innings/80 pitches, whichever comes first. I’d either send him to the pen or team him with Timmy as a twosome for 9 innings. They would switch roles as starter and vulture game to game. Without knowing where Cain and Peavy are gonna be at here’s my rotation: Bumgarner, Heston, Cain, Peavy, Tim and Timmy duet. Vogie as second long-man. Don’t know if pairing a couple starters has been tried before but it’s the only scenario i find appealing, Who knows, it could even work.
I threw this same idea out last year, Stix. I think I called it Tim Hudcecum.
Like most of my posts it got little to no response. Anyway, it ain’t happening…
“Tim Hudcecum”. Clever. Somehow missed seeing it last season. May have been a real busy spot in the year for me OR the Giants had been horseshit at that time and my attention was lagging.
To many crazy scenarios with this pitching staff!
Shit if Cain&Peavy show they can contribute, they could go with 8 freakin starters and guys would stay fresh cause their only pitching every 2 weeks, lol…don’t think Bum would go for that.. Oh and talk of adding Cueto or Leake, Well why not add to the log jam…
Nice parade and rally for the Warriors this morning. Comcast is going to replay it tonight.
They were probably riding in stolen cars…
Solid Gold Loo!
Thinking those hydraulic lift Impala’s would have been the perfect choice in a parade..
NBA finals had highest TV ratings since 2003.
A million people at the parade in Oakland today, or so I read. I only saw the starting line live. The crowd was enthusiastic. The streaming video later was good. Several Warriors got nostalgic on stage, looking up at a nearby apartment building beside Lake Merritt. They’d all rented places there when they first arrived here. Only three people shot, by the lake but blocks away from the stage, and those folks weren’t hurt badly, it seems. All in all, a pretty nice, sunny day for my hometown.
56 comments as i hit the board. Good sign, i think, as that’s my magic number. Blanco’s return is also a good sign. He considerably lengthens that lineup in the 8-hole. Still nowhere near sold on the current Pagan batting 3rd but wtf. Thinking Heston edges Bolsinger.
Xoot ,
Only 3 people shot, non threating injuries, yes that’s a good day in O Town!!
Congrats Warriors!
I still remember the remarkable 74-75 season when they swept the Bullets and Al Attles got kicked out of the final game protecting Rick Barry, when a desperate Bullet’s team tried to get under his skin with Mike Reardon hounding Barry with BS aggressive play and fouls to no avail!!
A great team that hardly got any recognition back in the days before ESPN..
The SP numbers game does bring up an interesting point: if most of them are 5 inning guys, then there aren’t enough bridge guys like Kontos and Petit. Peavy joins rotation that’s 6, plus Petit Kontos Lopez Affeldt Strick Romo Casilla. My guess is someone, likely Affeldt, gets a phantom DL injury for 15 days.
Or, someone is traded…and imo the guy who would bring the most value back (as in OF help) is Romo
Tell you what, that ’75 Warriors team would give this current champ Warriors team a run for its money. Barry would probably average 40 a game with the 3-pointer now in order, which wasn’t back then. The ’75 Dubs could play some D, too. George Johnson could rim protect, and Johann could get tough on the boards. I don’t know who would win, but maybe I’d go with the current Dubs in 7…
I say I won’t stay up. These late nights strung together are tough. But…
I was thinking about a nap. It has been a long, hot week here and I’m a tired Flapper.
Pagan swings and…rolls one to right side and he’s out at 1b.
Hmmnn…starting to remind me of the dreaded Gamer.
Buster Bomb!
Gone!
monster.
Posey, a rocket full of Posey!
Way to smack that dude’s big curveball!
Enjoy a nice salami boys. Bustered! RBI’s # 37,38.39 and 40.
Grand Buster!
Buster Heaton.
Heston is up and down, like all the Giants starting pitchers not named MadBum.
going out on a limb here and saying Buster hasn’t ever hit a grand slam and stole a base in the same game before. At any level…
hell, he played every position in college. i’m sure that was included.
it’s true for the majors, bc my iPad just chirped and told me
yeah, when he was in HS or college Buster probably hit for the cycle including a GS and stole 2B and 3B. Maybe 3B twice. In the same game.
I don’t get Pagan’s whining. It’s been clear Bolsinger’s getting the high strike from the ump on that curveball.
Shit. Nice play.
That’s a great catch, but Pederson’s going to get injured someday doing all those dives.
Looks like he might of done some damage on that play. Hell of a catch, though.
That redneck-looking Turner is an annoying player.
I remember when Rollins joined LA in the off-season. He was talking about all sorts of stuff, looking forward to being their lead-off hitter, and being a real team leader, etc. I see he’s batting 8th and hitting under .200. Oops….
I’m a little surprised they pinch-hit for Ethier there. That had to fry Ethier’s butt.
Why Zum? Ethier is a lefty and Van Slyke is a righty. Made sense insofar as the matchup with Affeldt.
Belt needs to learn the art of protecting
Crawford fouled off the same pitch they got belt looking.
Crawford, our RBI leader, getting it done.
Duffman!
http://tinyurl.com/nkmrgqo
Oh yeah.
White Shark.
Oh, thank you, Matt, et al. A blowout against the Dogs feels very relaxing….
Not sure I’ve ever seen Affeldt bat before…
Affeldt gets his cut. Nice inning.
Blade, I was thinking D2X would save Van Slyke for later, but it ended up not mattering. The Giants kept scoring.
Yep, nice ass whuppin’ . . .
IF Affeldt finishes this he can get a safe, right?
Never mind.
Fuck that Turner guy.
Dodger’s PA guy has the enthusiasm of a corpse…
I had to Google photos of Claude Osteen. They ‘re right; he’s a Jim Nabors twin.
He could pitch 300 innings in his sleep. Very underrated guy…
I remember having a baseball card of Osteen. I was a diehard Yankee fan as a little boy, so I hated the Dogs even way back then. In the photo on the card, Osteen was wearing some kind of windbreaker material under his shirt. Very shiny blue, looked wet. I always hated that card. Why is that guy wearing a shiny blue windbreaker under his shirt? Ah, the things we remember….
I’m with ya, Paul. This one baffled me as a little boy:
Must’ve been the style back then, huh…
If anybody ought to be able to throw strikes, it should be “Right Down Broadway”, but apparently not. Dude… you’ve got a 4-run lead in the 9th inning, WTF…
Sorry, 5 run lead. Even more so.
Yeah you right, Paul.
Fucking throw strikes.
What you said.
See ya, Broadway.
should be off-off-broadway……like staten island
He should change his name to Lombard…
Yeah… all the discussion of which pitchers get *dismissed* when Cain and Peavy (ha, I’ll believe it when I see it about Peavy) come back, I think Broadway just partly answered that one….
Yep. Had it all the way. 🙂
Casilla never gives in!
Yes.
Beatdown L.A.!
