I’m hoping tonight’s game has Chi making a Bee-line to the bedroom as soon as the final out of the game is recorded. Gail needs to where a football helmet to bed and plan on sleeping tomorrow.
Fun fact … Out of 29 games in August (this one is #29) opponents have either scored in the first inning or before us overall in 19 games … I confess I kind a lost interest and so subsequently lost track in accurate counting but I was up to around 15 games where our opponents scored in the first inning against us … That seems like a lot of ‘come from behind’ pressure.
Mike Krukow actually said this on the air:
“His best shot was on the belly, and yeah, he beats it out.”
that’s fucking POTYEAR and he doesn’t even know what he said……
Kruk also said after Blanco got forced at 2nd by Peavy.
Great opportunity for Blanco and his 12 steals to go. uhh Peavy’s at 1st, the dementia is kicking in quickly on poor Mike..
I remember reading something where he talked about the Giants being one of the teams for which he has wanted to play. I caught part of his interview with Marty Lurie this weekend (think Zumiee mentioned it, too), and you can tell the guy is a very intelligent baseball player. It was a great interview…it is probably on podcast on KNBR.
I have to go back to the pre-game (not sure how many of you were watching), and Kruk says how the team that pitches, plays clean D, and has the timely hitting wins the game tonight (and the series). OK Einstein…isn’t that the case in about 99.99999% of games!?
He must’ve read the article on SB Nation, in which Mattingly said the same exact thing. I’ll take Bochy’s stellar quotes any day, like my favorite when discussing who would be in the lineup: “The guys who will be playing are the guys we’ll put out there”…. 🙂
Can’t say enough about how both Duffy and Tomlinson are very VERY game-smart. The Dogs 2nd baseman is holding the ball like he’s holding his dick, and Duffy scores easily.
She refuses to give up the term…she has always said I should share it on the blog, and I always looked at her like she was certifiably insane. Not sure I see Flap Universe adopting the “good miss.” 😉

Joc may’ve been born in Palo Alto and gone to HS there but he likely spent time here in Syracuse cuz his dad, Stu, was a popular minor leaguer here for a good while. (BFD.)
Fuck. Has Peavy finished a 7th inning he started all year? In this regard Bochy is failing. He must have a man crush on Peavy because what other reason could he have for continually having him out there. He needs to just get through 6 and have the bullpen start the 7th. GRRR
Carbonell? He has struggled mightily. Although he was terrific at San Jose the night I saw him play there–but he’d just been demoted from Richmond for abysmal failure to hit a lick.

Aza can play center. He still has fairly good wheels at 31 . . . He hit .264/.323/.405 with 17 HR, 62 RBI and 20 SB – as recently as 2013 with the White Sox. Good signing IMO.
1. Bochy has gagged repeatedly on not pulling guys fast enough, Peavy in particular. He’s reading Dusty’s notes. WTF is Peavy still in after giving up a first dinger, given his recent history? Tomorrow the whole Giants pitching universe can join the team…
2. I noted weeks ago after Bochy said Pence would be out two weeks, that he actually meant Sept 20 (about 6 weeks). I think that’s going to be about right…
I’m hoping tonight’s game has Chi making a Bee-line to the bedroom as soon as the final out of the game is recorded. Gail needs to where a football helmet to bed and plan on sleeping tomorrow.
Fuck. Peavy’s missing high.
3-2 fucking floater . . .
Jesus. These are right down the middle.
One word for the bottom of that inning: TORTURE!
Fun fact … Out of 29 games in August (this one is #29) opponents have either scored in the first inning or before us overall in 19 games … I confess I kind a lost interest and so subsequently lost track in accurate counting but I was up to around 15 games where our opponents scored in the first inning against us … That seems like a lot of ‘come from behind’ pressure.
you wanna talk about *come from behind pressure?” Talk to Chuck’s lady after a Giants win. Ok, I’m done…lol
Oh, sorry … I thought that was “cum” from behind pressure … stupid me!!!
That Stat reminds me of being a Giants fan as a kid in la tree 70s/early 80s…seemed like we always gave up first inning runs…
Mike Krukow actually said this on the air:
“His best shot was on the belly, and yeah, he beats it out.”
that’s fucking POTYEAR and he doesn’t even know what he said……
I had a shot once off someone’s belly… she was quite lovely, if I remember correctly.
I once had a girlfriend that called that “arts & crafts” …
lol
Kruk also said after Blanco got forced at 2nd by Peavy.
Great opportunity for Blanco and his 12 steals to go. uhh Peavy’s at 1st, the dementia is kicking in quickly on poor Mike..
Jeeez Buster.
Gotta love the Duffman!
I love that Duff Man!
Byrd food!
Fucking heads-up play by DuffMan. Stole a run!
That was a sweet bleeder for 2 RBI’s..
Damned good inning…running that pitch count up on Anderson so they can get to that vaunted bum BP…
Somehow i keep getting this distinct impression that Byrd enjoys being a Giant.
Yeah, I think if the G’s do make the post-season, Byrd will be a monster, ala Uribe in 2010.
I remember reading something where he talked about the Giants being one of the teams for which he has wanted to play. Love that Bochy comment. Classic Bochy.
I usually go with the team that botches grounders, pitches poorly and gets the untimely hits as the path to victory…
Can’t say enough about how both Duffy and Tomlinson are very VERY game-smart. The Dogs 2nd baseman is holding the ball like he’s holding his dick, and Duffy scores easily.
That was a great play…huge. Caught the bums looking like a deer in the headlights.
That was, as Gail would say, a “good miss.”
I would say something about that, but i think Craig has it covered… 🙂
She refuses to give up the term…she has always said I should share it on the blog, and I always looked at her like she was certifiably insane. Not sure I see Flap Universe adopting the “good miss.” 😉
S****F*** adds a brand-new spin to SF.
The Cubs pajama party just got crashed by the Cincy Reds.
With help from Adam Duvall 2-run HR.
What was up with all that Jason ‘Justin’ Bateman diversion?????
Remember when earlier in the year it looked as if Alex Guerrero would have 79 homers and 213 RBIs?
And A-Gon was on his way to 85/240…
Sheesh, K&K just stole my thunder on Alex’s early numbers.
But it was going to pale compared to Joc’s 100-plus HRs. Was funny to see his little meltdown in the dugout.
Looks like an AT&T sellout. 15,000 empty seats…
Joc with the tantrum . . .
Joc may’ve been born in Palo Alto and gone to HS there but he likely spent time here in Syracuse cuz his dad, Stu, was a popular minor leaguer here for a good while. (BFD.)
Just get this last out, Peavy . . .
Gutsy! Yes!
Nicely done Peav…now get him the hell out of there…
Time for a Buster Bomb…
hoo boy. What is Guerrero looking for there?
Byrd’s white shoes are something else. Hey, as long as he keeps hitting HRs and driving in runs, I could give a shit what he has on his feet.
Chi, I love the white cleats…I appreciate guys who do the opposite…
I didn’t say I did not like them…but it is a different look. Hey, I am digging the Byrdman big time.
If I was Brandon Crawford I would have dirty thoughts about my sister…. Now, now, I don’t have a sister so I can get away with that comment. 😉
Yeah more shots of her instead of Bateman and Baer…
For Allah’s sake…I said get him the f out of there…complete nonsense…
The leash has got be short for Peavy…
Utley might as well suck some Peavy, he’s now 0-11 against him..
Fuck!
Fuck! The leash was not short enough!
Fucking 6th inning blues once again.
And he’s still in.
Peavy and the 6th, not a good combo.
Fucking ,It’s always in the 6 th inning when this starters( not named Bum) blow chunks…
I don’t understand how you have Peavy pitch to Gonzalez…makes no sense Batman….
well, we all saw that coming.
Why the fuck was Peavy still in there???
Double fuck!
What in the hell is it with Peavy and the 6th inning…damn!
Peavy Peavy Peavy.
We’ve got to eat this pen.
F. M. H.
Absolute fucking bullshit. He should have been out after the first bum reached base.
Or skull fuck it.
I need a Heimlick….
So Kruk was the HR better then the walk?
Either way he was coming out, now were trailing ..
Let me second my last comment with ethier in the punch line instead…
Giants acquire OF Alejandro De Aza from the Red Sox.
Giants trade for Alejandro De Aza?
musical name at least
7 HRs 39 ribbies .261 .319 obp
We gave them Luis Ysula
(???)
Yep…that is what I saw (a friend just texted me that)…
Fuck. Has Peavy finished a 7th inning he started all year? In this regard Bochy is failing. He must have a man crush on Peavy because what other reason could he have for continually having him out there. He needs to just get through 6 and have the bullpen start the 7th. GRRR
Fuck sportsdude…he didn’t even make it through the 6th and that has been more the norm for Peavy this year.
I would assume they have to add him to the 40 post haste and release someone for him to be playoff eligible.
If he isn’t post season eligible he is still an upgrade over anyone they would call up.
Carbonell, Lollis, or Parker is my guess…
Carbonell? He has struggled mightily. Although he was terrific at San Jose the night I saw him play there–but he’d just been demoted from Richmond for abysmal failure to hit a lick.
Take your choice WJ,
OOO or Hector “piñata Face Sanchez, personally I would dump both.,
He hasn’t started a 7th inning. He went 5.2
dont look at his 7th inning slits, you’ll either faint or throw your glass through the front window
Double FUCK. Sorry i meant 6th. I assumed he would be gone after Gonzo. Left to post came back. 4-3. WTF…So pissed right now
Adam ‘Don’t Call Me Robert’ Duvall homered for the Reds. I guess he was tearing it up before the callup.
What does this deal say about Pence’s condition?
Aza can play center. He still has fairly good wheels at 31 . . . He hit .264/.323/.405 with 17 HR, 62 RBI and 20 SB – as recently as 2013 with the White Sox. Good signing IMO.
More sermons, less baseball?
When he reached for his ribs after rounding 1B it just didn’t look all that serious. Of course, the guy probably lqth when he breaks a toe.
Is it just me or are Kruk and Kuip eerily quiet tonight?
I think that’s going to be about right…
I hope. He had “a setback” today…I have heard no details, but the trade sure makes you wonder…
Lollis DFA’d to make room for the new guy from Boston. This means Pence might be done for the season…
The Lollogram will haunt my dreams….
lqtm…
Time for Posey to do some damage…
Not sure why Bochy waited til 2 were out to send him
Time for Byrd to blast a 2 run shot, ala Jazz Hands in 2010 in the 9th at the Latrine in Sept; or was that a 3 run job…?
Yes!!!
I’ll take a game tying double instead!…
Money!!!!!
King of Byrds!
I love that Byrd Man!
Byrdman does it again…got to be the white shoes!
