    I suppose, on the upside, we can conveniently use the ready excuse that all the injuries to the ‘P’ people (Pence, Panik & Pagan) lead to our demise this ‘odd’ year … and that way we don’t have to fess up that we never really had a whole starting pitching staff … our geriatric pitchers (Hudson, Peavy & Vogelsong) never attained any sort of consistency – we could could count on ’em for 4, maybe 5 innings, tops … I think the pressure on Heston was too much for the rookie … and Leake was simply a ‘too little, too late’ addition’. I can’t help but think back to those road games against Texas and Atlanta before going into Chicago and how Casillia fucked us off … A few games we should have won and didn’t … It didn’t have to come to this … No consistency from our the starters, or the pen, and less so but also from the bats when we most needed it. Needless to say, Bum has been magnificent. Hopefully we can get our people healthy, add some quality starters, and take run at it next year.
