I’d like a beat down today. I’m predicting a beat down today. Therefore, a beat down today is forthcoming…..

I took my 18yo daughter to Bass Pro Shop today. You’re right. Not me. Not my style. But a lovely afternoon. Bonding. #gratitude

Culberson, a key piece in the Scutaro trade, just signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers.
Culberson was a supplemental first round pick for the Giants, and the Scutaro trade got a great return on the pick for the ’12 championship, obviously.

I’d almost like to see Cal win just to further my disdain for Shaw…..Walking around the stadium right now, I think I’ve gotten so old that I can officially say every college chick here looks fuckable. Yikes.

Spent the afternoon looking at used cars with the elder Snarkkette. She will need one within the next 3 weeks or so. Going off to work in the afternoons for an internship at a veterinarian’s office, so needs wheels. Anybody have something 2010-2012, good solid safe, let me know. Low miles, good shape, yada yada. I’m looking at stuff like Corolla, Sentra, Civic, solid stuff. Some of the comparable US stuff is scary on the car websites with bad repair reviews, etc…

I’ve got a car like that but it’s got Cardinal stickers plastered all over it. Still want it? Katie doesn’t get a car until she stops smashing her iphone up everywhere. I’ve never once gotten a scratch on any phone I’ve ever owned and yet all these 12 year olds have phones that look like that scene in T2 of Arnold doing surgery on his face in that hotel room…..

Shoot me an email about your car, if you’re serious. I can always get rid of Stanfoo stickers with GooGone, or Stanfoo-Gone. 😉

Tough car to find today Snarkk, and totally ghetto which the elder Snarkkette would need super dark tinted windows to drive around in so none of her friends no it’s her, I would go with the “Push Button Automatic Rambler”!!
Plenty of heavy duty metal( think tank or Hummer without the price tag) that can with stand any fender bender with ease! Best bang for your buck guaranteed!!

i think you live in the east bay. there’s always a long line of cars for sale that are parked on the street across from san ramon valley high school. people park the car, put a sign in the window and people stroll up and down looking at them. on any given weekend day there’s probably at least 50 cars of various types and vintages.

For a kids first car to putt around in, go older. A 100k miles on a japanese car is nothing,

Yeah, I’m looking as far back to 2010-2009. Beyond that, the quality tends to crater…

Got a totalled 99 infiniti I can let you have for a song. $75.00

Actually,it’s going to the junkyard on Monday. Middle daughter read-ended someone. That was supposed to be my son’s car.

      Ouch.
I called one guy up selling his car, and he said immediately he would not take less than $8995 for it, and that for him to show me the car, I had to agree to that price condition and be “serious”. I said I might be serious, and might agree to that price, but not until I saw and drove the car, and that I thought few people would agree to essentially buy a car at a certain price sight unseen over the phone. He mumbled, and I said thanks anyway, and hung up. People are strange…

Cal doing its usual give away the big plays defensively BS. This has been going on for years for Cal defense. The last time they had decent defense was during the Rodgers years…

Not surprising — Michigan State beats Ohio State. Buckeyes hadn’t played anybody worth a darn all year, were getting the high ratings on rep of last year’s team. A valid NCAA football champ won’t exist until there is at least an 8-team playoff. The Div II teams play 5 rounds of playoffs over the course of several weeks beginning Nov 21 and ending Dec 12. Now, whoever wins that is a REAL national champion…

Giants added 8 arms to the 40 man to protect against the Rule 5 draft coming up. EIGHT arms. Rule 5 picks mean the team acquiring has to keep the player up all year at the MLB level, or lose them back to the prior team. If the Giants think these arms are vulnerable to the Rule 5, then they better put some of them up to the big club next season, and see if one or two can stick as starters.

I know it’s not going to happen, and very likely shouldn’t happen, but wouldn’t it be a hoot if management decides, nope, not gonna spend money on those free agents, but instead let’s see if we can be magic with the young ‘uns’, ala Cain and Timmy and MadBum 5 or 6 years ago, and go with new arms in the rotation, sink or swim, learn by doing, etc. In a rebuilding year, I’d be ok with that…. not for 4 in 7, though…

Looking at some of the Dubs highlights from last night, Curry made a move to the bucket on Heinrich with some fancy dribbling. But, seriously, years ago Curry would have been called for palming the ball 3 times before he got to the bucket. His handle is great, but in slo mo, it’s clear in the NBA there is no longer any such thing as a “carrying” the ball violation …

Cal, as usual, gave up big plays with mistakes, got penalties — some deserved — and loses again to Stanfoo. Not unexpected, but maddening still for Cal fans, as we’ve seen this before over several coaches. The defensive side of the ball cannot stop a good team. Cal’s offense put a lot of yards on the board, but couldn’t get into the EZone enough when it had the chance…
