FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK! When you run out of Flappers to say who this is, before you tell anyone – give me another shot. Been getting ready for my trip the last couple of weeks, so not much time to be around here, but I am going to be in first, come hell or high water by the time I leave for Hawaii. Ha.

Only one I got was Haad, hours after Flav had said he was a C and gave out both initials. Since I’ve only made 2 guesses I am batting .500. It’s just fun to follow along. Hilarious concept.

    New day, new guesses?

  20. mrsprtdude said, on February 7, 2017 at 9:58 am

Great SB for sure, as i was rooting for the Pats. Never liked ATL. Shanahan is an idiot. Such a bummer something that seemed obvious to all football fans ( ATL running game was very good, situation etc) that runn a few times and kick the field goal is a strategy that escaped him. Worse is he is still defending his mistakes. Grr…

  21. wilcojoe said, on February 7, 2017 at 10:02 am

Juan Berunger? Not sure about the spelling.

  22. unca_chuck said, on February 7, 2017 at 10:05 am

    Al Holland?

  24. zumiee said, on February 7, 2017 at 11:49 am

I didn’t go back and check, but I had the Atlanta FG being about 41 yards. Ball on the 24. Add 7 yards for the snap, and add 10 yards of the endzone. Granted, 41 yards isn’t a total gimmee; but still, you have to play it that way in that situation. It was the higher percentage move.

    • zumiee said, on February 7, 2017 at 11:52 am

But I agree with whoever said that this is where the head coach should have stepped in and said I want 3 running plays, and we’re going to kick the field goal.

    • willedav said, on February 7, 2017 at 12:02 pm

Mm, Shanahan getting nothing but heat from what I’ve read.
Just too much else going on tho imo to blame the whole thing on him and that’s the issue I have.
Yes, there is a head coach, and a QB with the ball in his hands.

And 11 guys playing D that Brady pushes around the field while they tackle his guys after first downs and TDs.

Easy to point fingers when things go wrong; anybody have a problem with him when they were up 28-3?
Or when they blasted through GB and Seattle?

      • sandog said, on February 7, 2017 at 12:12 pm

Good point. Also, if you run it 3 times and then miss the 41 yarder, you get criticized for “going conservative” or “abandoning your game plan.”
I actually thought it was stupid of the Patriots to kick the FG that made it 28-12. I thought there was no way in hell they would get 2 touchdowns AND convert both 2 point conversions.

      • Flavor said, on February 7, 2017 at 12:13 pm

I thought the same thing. But I underestimated how dead-dog tired the Atl defense was.

      • sandog said, on February 7, 2017 at 12:20 pm

Am I having tech issues (fairly common), or is there no retro pic posted at the moment?

  25. sandog said, on February 7, 2017 at 12:44 pm

Love the pic. I would have said Brian Wilson and felt great about it, but it sounds like he went earlier.
Must be some other husky right hander.
I’ll take a flyer on Tyler Walker.

……I think Sarge might be on the board!

  31. unca_chuck said, on February 7, 2017 at 1:25 pm

Yeah, the play that led to the fumble on the missed block came on 3rd and 1. They ran the 2 previous plays, and tried a pass. Not a terrible call, but the RB whiffed his block.

Still and all, Atl was running the ball down NE’s throat. There’s something to be said (hello Pete Carroll) for being too cute. And you can’t tell me that if it was Brady on the end of that sack, they call that an incomplete pass. I was surprised there wasn’t more looked at around that. The ball went forward.

  32. Flavor said, on February 7, 2017 at 1:30 pm

It’s rod beck so Kat picked up a W and Sarge is still working hard!

        BETSY?

      • Flavor said, on February 7, 2017 at 7:20 pm

Betsy Devos. Big time rich ho. Knows nothing about education. Now is in charge of it.

      • gianthead said, on February 7, 2017 at 7:25 pm

Flav, she has spent about 30 years working on education reform…

      • Flavor said, on February 7, 2017 at 7:27 pm

she couldn’t answer basic questions about education policy.

      • gianthead said, on February 7, 2017 at 7:29 pm

Now with that said, she wouldn’t have been my pick. DC just had as head of education, this brilliant Asian American woman with a doctorate and a Democrat. She tried to take on the Democratic controlled teacher’s union to push for reform and got fired for her efforts after something like 6 months. She would have been a wonderful pick and more capable. She was under consideration but you know why DeVos was picked…she should be an Ambassador to UK or something instead….

      • gianthead said, on February 7, 2017 at 7:32 pm

And of course, my position is why the F is the Dept of Education a cabinet level position??? I think states and better localities are much better at carrying out things like education…the Fed Govt steals too much money as it is..

  61. wilcojoe said, on February 7, 2017 at 7:12 pm

I think they archive these so they can be listened to later.

Thanks Willie, don’t think I’ve heard Leroy Jones, I’ll check him out. I like Mandeville and the North Shore (we’ve looked at places over there), but that ride over Lake Pontchartrain…Man that would be tough to do on a regular basis.

San Diego St. at San Jose St. on the obscure CBS Sports Network channel. I saw Bruce Springsteen perform a solo acoustic concert in that college gym. Great show. This was on his Steinbeck-influenced “Ghost of Tom Joad” tour. I like that album a lot. I rank it as one of his best.
