Great SB for sure, as i was rooting for the Pats. Never liked ATL. Shanahan is an idiot. Such a bummer something that seemed obvious to all football fans ( ATL running game was very good, situation etc) that runn a few times and kick the field goal is a strategy that escaped him. I didn’t go back and check, but I had the Atlanta FG being about 41 yards. Ball on the 24. Add 7 yards for the snap, and add 10 yards of the endzone. Granted, 41 yards isn’t a total gimmee; but still, you have to play it that way in that situation. It was the higher percentage move.

    Good point. Also, if you run it 3 times and then miss the 41 yarder, you get criticized for “going conservative” or “abandoning your game plan.”
    I actually thought it was stupid of the Patriots to kick the FG that made it 28-12. I thought there was no way in hell they would get 2 touchdowns AND convert both 2 point conversions.

Yeah, the play that led to the fumble on the missed block came on 3rd and 1. They ran the 2 previous plays, and tried a pass. Not a terrible call, but the RB whiffed his block.

Still and all, Atl was running the ball down NE’s throat. There’s something to be said (hello Pete Carroll) for being too cute. And you can’t tell me that if it was Brady on the end of that sack, they call that an incomplete pass. I was surprised there wasn’t more looked at around that. The ball went forward.

She was under consideration but you know why DeVos was picked…she should be an Ambassador to UK or something instead….
