The Worst
As I am known for my silver linings and sunny disposition, I’d like to start the thread by noting that it took that journeyman pitcher 83 pitches to shut us out over 6 innings—well off his pace from 7 years ago. So we are getting to him. In 10-20 years I bet we hit the shit out of that guy……
We like to complain about the offense, I don’t know a fan base who doesn’t. But when I say this is the worst offense I’ve ever seen as a Giants fan, I don’t think I’m overstating it.
Worse yet, this team is boring as hell.
post game wrap on radio was pretty somber, tough luck for Cain again.
Lotta talk about Arroyo. I’m not a big Nunez guy but he’s a better 3b than OF. I can see the argument kid needs to go back down for a bit and get stroke back, maybe add in some discipline/swing at good pitches.
Hard to believe team with this many vets is so streaky. Week ago they had played LA tough and beaten Cards, now no one can hit and they make just enough mistakes to lose.
I think Mac’s right–we all should have been with Wilco.
One of cool things about coaching is being able to watch kids mature. Some of the guys I coached 10 years ago are now coaching teams, and I get to go check one of them out this afternoon at a big local Asian club team tourney.
Kind of funny but guy in question once said he’d never want a coach a kid like he was (talented but goofy and not very focused). Now he’s able to see things from other side of the bench stay calm and be positive and teach the game.
I was going to tell Wilco, too bad he wasn’t here next weekend when the Giants are in Philly, but then again. . .
Shit Garcia will beat us easily in the old timers game…
Just pulled into Reno to make my usual donation at the casinos! Maybe I’ll bet on the Giants not scoring ,odds should be in my favor!
Bet the under on runs scored for any Giants game!
jealous. Can’t wait to check out the new poker room in the Silver Legacy.
Click on the photo to get to the twitter feed. There’s a photo and funny quote from Tito Fuentes just a bit below this one…
5 or 6, lol
willied- your last comment on the last thread, I’m up for that kind of DFAs too.
Time to turn the tables upside down to shake up this moribund squad heading nowhere…
And, of course, it’s idiotic that it’s a night game today instead of a day game. Charles Johnson should sit in the upperdeck, down the leftfield line tonight. Catch the full night-game experience.
Charles Johnson would say: “Sorry. I didn’t realize the peasants were getting really cold up here.”
He should sit down by the bullpen, where the crazy Saturday night drunks congregate
I doubt Charles Johnson takes in many games. Giants are probably just one of many investments for the richest man in baseball.
all this guy does anymore is drink coffee and make vids with this chick.
What’s the deal with him in all these vids and photos.
Is this some PR deal to boost her career, whatever that is?
He’s been hurt so much, he’s become an afterthought. This other somewhat loopy off-field stuff adds to the perturbation…
I can’t get mad at him, but he’s pushing it…
This late afternoon game start on a Saturday is an abomination.
Like late afternoon and evening starts of Cal football games at Strawberry Canyon….
Fun fact: in 2013 Charles Johnson donated $250 million to Yale University.
I don’t think trumps tax plan will convert MLB salaries into deductible charitable contributions.
Good luck leaving the grounds in that neighborhood…
The thing I wonder with Pence: Is he just getting older and this is just what happens to aging OF’s not on steroids? Or is his slide more of an indication of his other *interests*?
Pence is 34. I’m sure it’s just the effects of Father Time. Pence played all-out his whole career, and it’s caught up to his body.
Gregg Allman dead at 69 due to complications associated with liver cancer. Damn. I cut my teeth on the Allman Brothers in high school. RIP, Midnight Rider.
Speaking of players and their wives, Gearrin got married last week. You don’t usually see players getting married during the season.
It probably took him 5 full minutes to say “I do”…
🙂
If Cody Ross was at the wedding, he’d be in the outfield tonight…
1. Denard Span (L) CF
2. Eduardo Nunez (R) LF
3. Joe Panik (L) 2B
4. Brandon Belt (L) 1B
5. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
6. Aaron Hill (R) 3B
7. Nick Hundley (R) C
8. Mac Williamson (R) RF
9. Ty Blach (R) P
good thing Buster is getting a breather.
Jim Bunning has passed away…

Giants team BA was .218 BEFORE the cub series. early, but at this point they have the lowest team average in the history of the franchise (120+ years)… Lower than EVER.
The Dodgers have shut-out the Cubs two games in a row. So it goes…..
McCarthy gave up 2 hits in 6 innings, Stripling 1 in 3. Lackey was Lacking.
Great to see Lackey get smacked around – I never liked that punk, from back when he wore a halo.
And they get Kershaw tomorrow…
Hundley with a bomb? This braves pitcher is just what the Giants needed.
Maybe it’s the green uniforms.
They don’t realize who they are…
Well, one good thing about MadBum’s injury is Blach getting a good look-see and looking like the real deal…. I wonder how many other *real deals* we’ve got? Beede.. Koonrod…. Slater in the OF….
Four good starts by Blach since getting lit up in Cincy, that’s a little encouraging.
Giants bullpen, working its magic.
El con man cometh
A win!
And Blach’s batting average is higher than that of Williamson, Hill, and Gorkys…..
Clint doesn’t look like his heart is really in it, either.
Maybe we can get something for him at the break, too…
