One?
This one could get ugly. A parade of big-stick wielding Tigers will make their way to the plate today against poor Ty Blach. That left field wall is gonna take a pounding–if we’re lucky. Several balls could go flying over it.
Our chances hinge on getting into that Detroit bullpen. Daniel Norris is a young guy with good stuff but he can be prodded and flustered. If we can cobble together an inning where we pound him, get him out of there, then feast on their bullpen, we might get back to our winning ways…..
That’s more hope than anything else tho.
Fuck it…just time to rattle-off another little win streak.
A good test game to see Ty’s ability to deal with a bunch of hard hitters… The kid has shown nothing bothers him and getting rattled is not a fault he bares. One thing in his mind is knowing his team lately doesn’t give up even when down in late innings. Yesterday was another example of the fight that is still in the team. A loss is a loss; but I loved the late inning comeback.
I think the team wants this next one badly and will show, again, they are not the losing team that’s been trashed mercilessly.
Loo mentioned end of thread this season might be it for Kruk.
I talk to people who travel a lot and most aren’t real happy about it, esp retired ones who traveled a lot for business in their earlier days.
I realize it’s different for players/teams but can’t be much fun. giants had that series with ATL where they had to fly back late and play the next day (didn’t Mets pound them?), and have same thing this week.
Wonder what NL hitters think about DHing in AL yards. Are they all for it or miss being on the field/part of action? I’m sure there are stats for it, but do NL teams do better or not with DH?
Yesterday it was Posey, who got to sit back and watch without being involved in the game…perhaps he might have talked Bochy out of running Cain out there in 7th if he’d been behind plate.
I could see that with Kruk hanging em up, certain parks including his 1st team the Cubs make it difficult for him to get around in.
Think it was Zumie who thought Fleming might bolt as well and just do prime time games.Thats fine with me,I’ve never been a fan of him..
I think the lack of knowing Blach’s stuff will confound the Tigers…
Out of the loop from baseball I was up in Reno making my usual donation to the casinos.
Did go to a movie in Sparks. Wow this theater called Legends is bad ass!! They have the full reclining leather seats with a swinging tray and you can get beer mixed drinks freaking AWESOME!!
If they add video poker instead of trailers that would be perfect that shut down before the movie starts..👍
They have one of those in Danville that serve beer. Pretty fucking righteous.
Fun to revisit the memories of Tiger stadium. Panda and his big day . . .
Diggity, if you are out there, the Kings are really actually looking like they might be getting their shit together. Zach Randolph may have his best days behind him, but he’ll be great for a young team to learn from.
Hill is another good defender who should help short-term, and maybe long term if he gives up his minutes to the youth movement. Their draft was one of their best in a looooong time.
Warriors just signed Swaggy P?? Thought they signed a rapper but he goes by Nick Young 1 year 5 plus…
Casspi?
Wow. Nick Young? Damn. The best getting better. Loved Clark, but Young is much better than Barnes. Casspi? Look up ‘journeyman’ and you’ll see his pic. Good solid player who can hit treys. Clark may be a bit more dynamic but he’ll go for more than the league minimum. Which is what Casspi gets.
There’s rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, then there’s upgrading the caviar at the Ritz . . .
Maybe they can find a way to fit Westbrook under the cap…
Westbrook is a talented dude, but no way in hell I would want him on the Warriors.
Hah! Uh, not in 3 of my lifetimes would I want him.
Here’s the line-up that is going to put a thumping on Detroit’s big boppers…
1. Gorkys Hernandez (R) CF
2. Brandon Belt (L) 1B
3. Hunter Pence (R) RF
4. Buster Posey (R) DH
5. Jae-Gyun Hwang (R) 3B
6. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
7. Austin Slater (R) LF
8. Nick Hundley (R) C
9. Kelby Tomlinson (R) 2B
Donger moving up in the line-up….
Too bad Gorkys not moving out of it.
Where’s George Jefferson when you need him?
Fun fact: the woman in the green dress is Lenny Kravitz’s mother. (I think)
Wikipedia confirms my vague memory on that.
“Lenny Kravitz was born in Manhattan, New York, the son of actress Roxie Roker (1929–1995) and NBC television news producer Sy Kravitz.”
These are 2 very bad teams…
If we win, we should ask Zumiee to consider this substitute for Clint.
Ouch! 🙂
If only the season started June 26th.
Chip off the old Blach!!
Kids mowing down the Tigers!
Agree though, to crappy teams in Motown don’t make a hit..
Hwang! No way 100 looms if he’s the 3B.
Jon Miller in the 8th inning seems to agree. He just called Hwangs hands “magical”
Jesus. Kontos with the 0-2 gift. Yet again. Fuck, we give up a lot of those. No more pitchers getting hits, but we give up 0-2 knocks all the time now.
Holy crap, Hwang can play some third too. I have to wonder why it took so long to give him a look.
Here comes trouble.
That’s what happens when you can’t move your feet as a catcher.
Good point. Hundleys one of the biggest disappointments, among many others
Gearrin grinding again
Gearrin is ready to implode.
Same thing fucking Kontos did yesterday, get behind 2-0 and have to come in. Fuck Bochy, why this fucking guy.
Get his fucking ass out of there Bochy
I think Gearrin is paid by the hour…
This fucking bullpen. 5-0 lead, all but gone.
Here comes the Giants’ bullpen….

Hanger . . .
Got away with 2 hangers.
The last pitch was good one. If the guy wouldn’t take a full 5 seconds after coming set he might have fewer problems. Deliberate is one thing but this is ridiculous.
Brian Johnson must be the most unpretentious student ever to stroll through the sandstone arcades at Snodfart.
Miguel Cabrera’s numbers way off his usual this season so far. .266 BA nowhere near his lifetime .319. He hasn’t finished a season under .300 since 2008.
He’s got a lower body injury of some kind.
What a play by the tigers. Hold on
The whole bullpen is streaky!! The worst is Gerrin and Strickland. When the starter starts to lose it, your job as a reliever is to stop the bleeding, I hate it when Kruk or whoever says oh he has been so good the last few games.
No shit. It’s like the guy’s cue to implode. lol
Hwang and Dyson are just what they needed. Best second half record and .500 to finish? Let’s get it
Ty beats the Tigers, and another nice save from Dyson.
The Dodgers are the opposite of the conga line. Their lineup is a bunch of guys swinging for the fences. It works well in the regular season.
Grinded out another win!
Time for another shot of whiskey and a salute to the flag….
Way to go boys!
Streaks build confidence ;no matter the opponent.
One win at a time….
Wow. Live video from Madbums start in San Jose.
look at his hand. I don’t think i’ve ever seen a hand like this before.
Chase Utley’s grandfather:

Hwang made a great diving grab yesterday and Flems raved about his play in 9th too
Hwang over Nunez…who can stay around as utility guy.
Looks like nice day from Specs too, another guy who spent too long in Sac.
Oh well, these 2 and Slater look like keepers. Evans still has work to do like get someone or 2 for Cueto.
7 of 8!
Good thing I switched to a DVR d episode of Columbo starting Johnny Cash as the murderer, a world famous gospel singer with an addiction to underage girls to hide. Now that’s some 70s era literature
Seriously, they are bringing this guy back too fast. What’s the hurry? So they can squeeze a lot of starts out of his under market salary?…
While I watched the video feed from San Jose Madbum threw nothing but fastballs. Everyone knew those pitches were coming. Velocity according to the minor league gun was over 90, strike after strike. Maybe he got tired.
Saw the highlights of Donger’s play at third. No doubt this guy has a major league glove, that was a gem of a pick and turn and throw. Another reason why Nunes looks potentially expendable. Bochy doesn’t use his speed much anyway…
Line drive or grounder?
Hot grounder with big surprise hop…
Ahh . . . Significantly more impressed than.
Speaking of odd hands (baseball card above), Pedro Martinez’s fingers could bend way back, gave him so many different release points to move the ball around. Kind of like Mark Spitz, his knees bent slightly the other way, giving him a powerful kick. Some physical abnormalities sometimes create good athletes, I guess. My body is perfectly constructed, no abnormalities, hence, no sports career beyond sophomore year in highschool. Haha.
