Ace Time
Kinda need the guy holding that ring on the right side of the blog to step up big time today. We’ll see if the bats can step up, too. Did you guys catch the afternoon scores? Red Sox 15, Nats 18, D-backs 20! Now that was some bat porn doing its thing. *bat porn*. Man, good ol’ Twinner woulda given it to me for that one, eh?
I got a long drive ahead of me today. Maybe the KNBR connection fades in at the right moment, we’ll see….
Cards pitchers can’t exactly stand prosperity either.
Pence to the rescue with his classic dribbler…
unbelievable. another dribbler that barely even gets to the OF that drives in 2. He’ll never leave. Evans talking extension right now.
And Lexi will have Amy’s job
When there are men in scoring position and less than two outs, do giants batters hav a plan when they are up at bat? D’arnaud just looked like he was swinging at anything. Pence with the usual 5 hop grounder that the Cards luckily just screwed up…
Posey makes the All Star game as a reserve.
Black may have time to catch the Greyhound back to Sac…
Ballgame! Damn, it’s a win, but it sure as hell wasn’t easy!
What’d ya say, Clint?
Man how did Blach feel there— he’s got 5 run lead, gives up a base hit to gyorko who whacked all weekend vs. everyone in Giants uni, and bochy has Smith warming up in the pen? Brutal.
81.0 ERA….ouch.
He won’t see action again until the Giants are way behind in a game.
Puig may have hurt his oblique.
Roberts does a lot of rah-rah stuff in the dugout. It’s the equivalent of fake hustle for a manager.
D-Backs lose in 16 innings. Tough loss. The Giants gain a game.
A lot of zeroes today for the D-Backs after the 20-run game.
I am pretty sure Mark Reynolds, he of the 10 RBIs, played earlier this year in Syracuse. Or maybe it was one of the other nine Mark Reynoldses.
10 games, 1 HR, 4 rbis
Dodgers lost, and may have lost Puig for a while.
yeah put that on the ohtani tracker.
Splendid sunny day at the park today for a long long game that worked out fine in the end. All of the old time season ticket holders around us were stoked about the addition-by-subtraction trades. Let Jackson try to get back on track in the AL; the painful delay between Gearrin’s pitches was nearly as bad as the pitching itself; etc. etc. The usual informed fan stuff. We all wanted to see the new kid Duggar run. He scooted very quickly toward a fly ball to LCF early in the game, but Gorkys casually camped out under it and called him off. Finally, later in the game, he laced a nasty LD to RCF and then we saw Duggar run. He must’ve set a record for time to 2B standing up. Speaking of speed, Hanson is even more exciting to watch live than on TV and he’s turning DPs pretty well these days. But Pablo’s big HR had to be the moment of the game, at least for me. That’s what the team needed to let the redbirds know that the game might get ugly, but it was still going to go SF’s way, and that was a beautiful thing.
Excellent!
