Very interesting game tonight in Milwaukee. One outcome sees Kershaw and his experience shutting down a Brewer team that’s been off for a while and don’t have any players with experience in games of this magnitude. And I’m sorry but Gio starting Game 1?

Another outcome sees Kershaw tossing another one of his patented post season clunkers and the Milwaukee bullpen shutting down the Dodger hitters.

So I could see either team winning 8-1.

I know he doesn’t hit LHP all that well and I’m not sure how he’s hit Kershaw in the past, but I have a feeling Mike Moustakas is going to go off tonight. Brewcrew 5-3.

Prior to the game, Fox is trying to “sell” Kershaw being a playoff stud and any issues he had previously were in the past. Total bullshit. Same thing AK just pointed out with regard to this outing – making excuses for him (again). The graphic BF posted from Tiger Rant says it all as well . . . Fox’s worst nightmare is having the Brewers and Astros in the World Series.

For me, Kershaw is one of those players that as much as I hate his team, I don’t *hate* him. He’s always seemed like a nice guy, good teammate, admirable talent. Soooo many Dodgers I can think of that I did *hate* but not him. Yeah, Steve, option year for him, and rumor seems to be that he’s considering opting out to check out free agency to try to get something a bit more than the 2 remaining years he has with LA. Translation: he’s possibly thinking that 2 years from now, he won’t be worth much: that bad back of his is only going to get worse. Window, closing. As long as LA keeps losing in the post-season, I don’t mind Kershaw achieving what he can. And we all know he will never come close to approaching MadBum’s post-season success.

On the other hand, MLB has a story about Verlander poised to join the most elite of post-season pitchers (Pettite, Smoltz, Glavine, Stewart), with no mention of MadBum, as the story focused only on the total number of post-season wins. The story mentions Verlander’s stellar post-season stats starting in 2013. I guess something less than stellar must’ve happened in 2012 …..

Nice win for the Brew Crew. They did blow through the bullpen. It worked (especially the homer) but taking Gio out after only 2 innings not smart. If it goes 7 are we going to see those guys in every game? Why not at least let starter get in a bit of trouble before you pull him???
