You Need Two To Rival
It appears the *rivalry* took a night off. But come on, this should happen every time we play them. Their line up is dominant, the starting pitching rock solid. When I saw *Solano* leading off I just shook my head. Is there a more forgettable Giant? He’s old, slow and weak. What he’s even doing on the roster baffles me and the fact that Bochy decided to lead him off is an indication of where Bochy is at these days.
Hill vs Pom Pom tonight. BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! I hope the *rivalry* fuels us a little or this one is going to be another 9 zip wipeout.
Biggest non-sequiter in Flap History from Loo??
AHOFO!!!
ABs I saw Solano (in for Panik) looked fine, as opposed to most of his teammates. He had long AB where he fouled off bunch of pitches with 2 strikes then Opie hung breaking ball outside and he poked into RF for single. I think at that time it was their second hit all night Did either of the LH IF do anything last night?
It would be nice to see Pillar in that spot though. I hate watching slop throwing Hill dominate. Opie I can respect, for what he has done for so long, at least in regular season.
LA is 29-9 at home almost .800 winning pct, yet vs. SF only 3-2 and 6-5 on the year. Giants now 15-17 vs. division and they will see everyone else a lot in next couple weeks.
The division games have been our undoing these last couple years. Now we are treading water but shitting the rest? Got it.
I’m encouraged by the latest turn of the rotation. Hopefully these young arms can keep improving. Win today or tomorrow and its a split!
fuck that, win out and we get to 122 wins. Aim high or fuck off is my new moto. #AHOFO
Sounds legit!
That there is some quotable shit, Mr. Flavor. I believe I’ll be using it in the near future..
It was designed to go viral so get in on the ground floor and then let the glory unfold from there
It’ll be interesting to see how they handle the staff after Bochy’s final game.
Ax them all that night? Think they’re told in advance to start job hunting?
Was a good game to not watch as I fled So Cal…back to the humidity:(
Posey batting 4th is probably wearing on him, too. He’s probably wondering when Bochy will give him relief from that.
His OPS is .704, his WAR is 0.3.
0.3, the same WAR as Adam Jones. 🙂
and significantly worse than our *stud* Longoria. WAR is stupid. Admit it.
Cameron Maybin is very likely your AL Player of the week…
Jones 13 hrs 39 rbi .274 .322 . 488 .810
vs
Buster 3 hrs 18 rbi .251 .315 .389 . 704
WAR, huh, good God y’all. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing.
Buster is a solid catcher and calls a good game, but is his worth that dramatic when his offensive numbers are so pathetic?
IOW, has Jones lost the DBs as many games with his defense as Buster has blown with his lack of offense?
I’d say Buster leads that by a mile. If Buster had Jones’ numbers, we’d likely a lot closer to AZ than Miami.
Buster should be in the negative based on his offensive stats if that is an actual thing.
How the hell is Longo a 1.5? 9 errors in 2.5 months? .237 .314 .406 slg .721?
His offense AND defense suck. And he rates that?
I’m with Flav. I don’t get it.
And why do we have to keep being tortured watch Pomegranate pitch?
Yeah 2 decent starts in a row doesn’t make up the suckitude that he is.
They should just be pitching Bum,Thor,SharkBeede, Rodriguez..
They’re trying to build up his DFA value…
This will sound like I’m making a big defense of Longoria, which I’m not, but he does have a lot of range at 3b, and WAR is influenced by range on defense.
it’s overly influenced.
Longoria’s defense is far superior then last year.
The guy who’s defense has really taken a nosedive is Pillar. He’s dropped alot of catchable balls, and I’m sure Toronto noticed his decline as well and decided to cut bait..
Some serious pitch framing going on here. He probably bats cleanup for his team
All Star selection for position players should be determined by WAR at the position, on June 30. –Twinfan
he was wrong about a lot of things.
1,016 e-mails…
The Dodgers started their scrubini lineup tonight, which is, of course, better than the Giants A lineup.
Bryan Reynolds, 3 for 4 tonight, hit an HR, is now hitting .362.
I can say with 100% confidence that Zaidi would have never traded him away.
Ballgame ! You suck Pomegranate like I knew you would tonight..
Why do pitchers let Bellinger sit right on top of the plate? Especially a lefty? He should be throwing hard and inside to get off the plate and send a message. .
Crap signing by Zaidi on that one. Pom needs to be gone.
Stumbled upon an old Firestone commercial on Youtube that I remember as a kid: “Wherever wheels are turning…. etc. etc. Where the rubber meets the road”… Most of us here have been patient and even appreciative of Z’s moves so far. He’s about to get his first big test, what with suddenly the pundits and Flappers talking up MadBum and Smith as a double-combo blockbuster waiting to happen. “Rubber, meet road” time for Z-man…
To bad the Dodgers couldnt use Pom to pitch to the Giants, we could get right back in this game..
Yeah, the Giants hitters have the disadvantage of not getting to face that tomato can.
They play Posey like they used to play Johnny Disaster.
Giants cannot compete over the long haul with teams like LA that bomb the S out of the ball. They need power bats, that’s where the league is now, and for foreseeable future. The power vacuum of SF vs. Dodgers and rest of league is mind-boggling, especially with this juiced ball…
exactly. Every time I hear Flemm drone on and on about a *good at bat* that ended in an out or whatever I want to punch him in the face. The game is about the long ball now. There is no going back…..
Almost every position guy on LA has potential to jack one at any time. They swing for the downs, they don’t give an S about a “good AB”. The game that existed in 2010 is a distant memory. And the Latrine isn’t, or wasn’t, even considered a hitters yard before…
I’ve turned on Belt a bit. He’s one of the few Giants that can jack one out with any consistency. He might as well forget this OBP nonsense, and getting to 3-2 counts to take a walk. I’ve changed from questioning why he just doesn’t block pitches down the 3rd base line against the shift for doubles. He ought to just swing for the downs all night long, every night…
As if on cue, there’s another one…
Bochy’s like, who cares. Keep pitching, Pom.
“Hill vs Pom Pom tonight. BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! I hope the *rivalry* fuels us a little or this one is going to be another 9 zip wipeout.”
And it happened as predicted.
Not so long ago, Giants had lineups full of hitters who *could* jack one out at any time. ’02, Bonds Kent Sanders Santiago Aurelia Snow… 2010, Posey Pablo Uribe Renteria Huff… Think of some of the big post-season games they won with the long ball (Rent Buster Uribe Ishi Pablo Crawford Gilaspie). Those weren’t all prototypical HR hitters but they would do it often enough. Why these current guys can’t do it, I don’t know…
There’s one for the Giants ! …
How many is Bochy letting Pom give up before pulling his aszzz ? …
Aiming for another forfeit score…
Bochy woke up.
Hopefully D-Rod pitches well. That would be something positive tonight.
The upside of getting blown out is that Will Smith gets some rest…
Yaz does good.
Posey’s OPS is .692 now. K&K don’t even talk about him anymore. They’ve given up on him.
Yelich & Bellinger’s SPs alone are higher than that…
The ump blew the strike 3 call on Bellinger. Give me the electronic ump.
And the obligatory bomb after.
What does Boch think when he sees the cf and rf play Posey like a pitcher? There’s my 4-hole guy?
Just a classic case of a catcher breaking down physically around age 30.
Give Bart an outfielder’s glove ASAP…
