Dropped down to 4-6 in our last 10. Mets are 9-1 in their last 10. Think they think they can make the post season? This is where this all becomes somewhat of a mirage. Every team has a little run at some point in the season. Ours, sadly, was a little longer than other bad teams and certainly at the wrong time (close to the deadline).

We are now stuck in this slow walk down the Bochy Brick Road trying to find The Wizard of Wild Card. As I said a couple of weeks ago, if this was watching Bochy get fired up for one final legit run through the post season I’d be all in. But he doesn’t have the tools, man. No Dick. The pitching is fraying like a motherfucker. He’s like Sandra Bullock in Gravity trying to re-enter the atmosphere but this alternate ending is going to see him burn up, horrifically.

Better than fading away, I guess…

  A friend of mine worked there, and the turnover was ridiculous. All the bells ringing, yelling and noise around birthdays and the pig trough was annoying as fuck once you got past 14. But he did get us a shitload of nitrous!

Def Leppard has a song called “Die Hard The Hunter.” Anyone know the tune? Check it out sometime. Cool lyrics about a guy struggling to come home from war and smoothly integrate into society.
Also has a guitar break that I’ve always loved. Not shredding—just simple stuff with the two guitar players playing off one another, but it sounds cool. One of my favorite deep tracks.

You guys analyzed that Ventura-Ryan fight like it was the Zapruder footage. (Looked like a real fight to me.) But you inspired Loo to throw in the Oswald nonautographed photo with Jack Ruby. Speaking of Gary Matthews, he was in a fight once as a Giant and threw some haymakers. Ralph Kiner always said of Maddox something like ‘the earth is covered by three fifths of water, the rest by Gary Maddox.’ But he inexplicably dropped a ball for the Phillies that cost them a pennant.

As a kid, I saw a lot of Maddox at Single A Fresno Giants.
The guy glided in the OF, even then. He could hit.
I just looked up his Single A stats. In a full ’71 season of 475 ABs:
.299 / .356 / .562 / .919 with 30 dongs. 30.
He didn’t even stop at AA. Went straight to AAA the next season for 11 games. Then, right on up to SF, never to return to the minors.
Surprised to see he had only a .733 career OPS…

still only 3 and half back. Brewers had lost 5 of 6 Cards now 4 in a row. Nats had dropped 2 of 3 to AZ including game Dozier and Parra were on the mound. Lifeless last night though and important to get back at Phils/Nats.
and yes OB does matter. Btw walks and funkiness defensively, gave this one away. Soto was on 4 times I think only 1 base hit.
NO ONE was trading the next Juan Soto for 2 month rental of Bum and/or Smith.
Giants have to draft these guys just like everyone else does.
Z did pretty well at deadline and couple guys could help right away.
