I agree with what Blade said at the end of last night’s thread: this Dodger team is just not that imposing—they can hit, don’t get me wrong. But so can pretty much every team. Kershaw is not the same dude. Ryu crashed back to earth a while ago. Maeda *ain’t cut from that cloth* as Draymond liked to say…..Buehler, ok he’s a stud. A Young MadBum blossoming before our eyes. So they have ONE guy? Come on.
They don’t have the pitching to compete with the Astros. And isn’t winning the World Series the only thing that should matter to them?
Ha, they’re going to lose again this year and Flavor Nation will continue to laugh quietly to itself. Three decades and counting……
Nothing makes me happier then when the Dodgers choke in the playoffs. That and Rooster 🐔 choking his chicken 🐓 for another year!!
Great video about Monday Night Football and Howard Cosell.
Of note is Twinfan’s dad Ray Scott at 6:12.
Outstanding.
Thanks, Chuckles!
Cool video. I miss than cantankerous cuss.
Antonio Brown = Self Destruction
After being fined $200k for previous violations of his 3 year $50.13 million contract ($30.13 million of which was guaranteed). AB requested to be released. The Raiders accommodated him this morning. Bye bye contract, including the guaranteed money and termination pay. For someone who never played a down for the Raiders, he’s sure as hell provided a lot of entertainment, e.g., including frost bit feet, breaking CA wiretap laws, verbal meltdown with the GM, etc.
Johnny Cochran:” If the helmet don’t fit you gotta acquit”
FULL BLOWN IDIOT. Will be interesting to see how he fares in NE…
Yeah the Raiders continue being the laughingstock of the NFL! Along with AB both total LOSERS!!
Pittsburgh is laughing like hell this morning as the only WINNER out of all this with their 3rd&5th rd picks!!
All of the Bums starters have gone south. Even Buehler in his last start against the hapless Rockies, allowed 6 runs, including 2 bombs, in 5 innings pitched. Oh, and he was pitching in LA, not Sherpaland.
Same deal with with Ryu (as Flav indicated). Ryu had a major-league leading ERA of 1.45 on Aug. 11. Since then, his ERA has skied to 9.95 and he’s given up five home runs in the four starts since then. Ryu had allowed just 10 in 22 starts before that.
Both of these chumps are out of gas. Consequently, the Bums are resting them a start a piece. I’m hoping that “Young Black Shoes Beede” has the game of his life today. He needs it badly, as the Giants have lost each of his last eight starts dating to July 24. He’s 0-6 with a 7.05 ERA in those eight outings. Beat the Dodgers and all is forgiven!
In the long tradition of wide receivers being the temperamental prima donnas of the NFL.
Michael Pineda popped for violating MLB drug policy by taking something called Hydrochlorothiazide, a Diuretic. Once again proving that ball players aren’t the smartest humans on this ball. I mean come on, there’s about a half dozen natural diuretics, such as hibiscus tea, parsley, dandelion, coffee, etc. Sheesh, go to a bar and get drunk – alcohol is a common natural diuretic.
Yeah Blade that’s for sure how dumb these players are.Anybody that wants to replicate Ted Williams (who was actually dead so he gets a pass) and does the Hans Solo carbonated machine on his feet 🦶 hello dumbshit AB who uses his feet as much as in hands in football proved might point!
The only ones who came out a winner was the Steelers laughing their asses off today and their 2 picks 3rd&5th rd/s ..
I think the Nats with Scherzer, Strasburg and Corbin and bunch of young stud hitters can take the Flodgers…let’s get one more on LALosers and get the magic # to 5!!!
1. Mike Yastrzemski (L) LF
2. Brandon Belt (L) 1B
3. Evan Longoria (R) 3B
4. Stephen Vogt (L) C
5. Kevin Pillar (R) CF
6. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
7. Austin Slater (R) RF
8. Mauricio Dubon (R) 2B
9. Tyler Beede (R) P
That’s ok Boch, Jaylin Davis didn’t want to play for you anyway. He’s just waiting for the new manager to come on board next year, so he can then “START” instead of riding the pine with you!!
I woulda thought by this time there’d at least be a little speculation on who the new manager will be.
Ain’t read or heard a thing back here…
As long as it’s not Bochy’s son Brett I’ll be fine for now..
I have zero idea who or what a Tony Gonsolin is, but I am looking for him to do a “Kershaw” and beat up on the Dodger water cooler tonight . . .
I’m sure the Dodgers are just bored having locked up the division in May.
I expect them to go all the way (again)…
Just like the KC Chiefs!
I never expect that, Kat…
Go all the way again? Like 30 something years ago?
And counting lol 😂
No, I mean like I was dead certain last year that they were an absolute shoo-in…
The Dodgers will win over a hundred games this season, so that’s an achievement. They have absolutely mastered how to win in the regular season, when half of the pitchers they face are tomato cans. Of course, it changes in the playoffs.
Harsh meme. 🙂

MLB Network is saying the Dodgers are about to clinch their 7th straight division crown. Well woppie do lol 😂 During those 7 straight titles, it was the Giants who won 2 World Series titles, the ultimate prize the Dodgers will never see..
lolololol!!!
Never is a long time AK. Dodgers use to be renowned for never winning the World Series, until they finally won in 1955. This was there only championship in Brooklyn. In fact, the saying, “Wait ’til next year” was coined because of them (albeit, the Mets appropriated the term during the ’60s).
Hey, they’ll win one eventually, but I hope their losing streak goes as long as the Cubs or Red Sox or matches/surpasses their Brooklyn Dodgers futility.
Dodgers announcers just said something I never knew – Brandon Crawford asked for Mike Krukow’s autograph and Krukow wrote, “To a future San Francisco Giant . . . Mike Krukow.” I wonder if Craw still has that autograph?
Dick is not even with the team right now. He’s getting a cortisone shot for his oblique. He was a comet that blazed in the ‘19 season for a glorious month, and seems destined to slip back into baseball obscurity.
I’m actually fine with that. I never thought he was the real deal or would have a long career. Very, very few baseball players come to the show at age 29 and stick around. A lesser percentage become stars. Frankly, I am still not convinced that Yaz will continue to be a good player. Again, he’s a 29 year old outfielder that is doing well this season, but I don’t think he’s going to be a long term solution in the outfield.
Belt with that warning track power. lqtm
I think Yaz could possibly help for a year or two.He is disciplined at the plate, and has good range in the OF. I’d be happy if he can sustain something like this year for another’s year or two….
It was fun while it lasted….like a fling with a hottie that goes full-throttle for a month or so, and then flames-out…
The Giants displayed their patented warning track power that inning.
Same thought . . . hahaha
Yep. 🙂
Beede is a head case. He’s going to walk the Giants out of this game. Again.
Pillar saved his ass there. No idea how bad we would be without Kevin.
. . . and Longo.
Cool catch by Pillar the unappreciated. 🙂
Beede should buy Longo and Pillar dinner.
Beede did pitch Pollock well. No fastballs down the middle like the pitchers did last night.
The Dodger pitcher looks like Frank Zappa.
“Wait ‘Til Next Year,” Doris Kearns Goodwin’s memoir of growing up as a Dodger fan in Brooklyn is a great book.
When the Dodgers went to LA, her love for the team faded away, and she eventually became a Red Sox fan, and had a lot of painful ‘wait ‘til next years’ until 2004.
I’m not certain if I would still be a Giants fan if they had moved to Florida or Canada. The fact that the Dodgers left Brooklyn, makes me more understanding of her. However, if it was under any other circumstance, I would call her a pseudo Dodger fan at best. She grew up a Dodger fan in Brooklyn, so I would imagine that her situation was different versus Mac or Loo, whom are both way younger than Goodwin, i.e., they hadn’t become attached to the Giants to the extent she probably did with her team, the Dodgers.
If you get a chance Loo or Mac, please comment. Pawlie too, if your lurking around. By the by, where is Willie? Also, where is Xoot? I know where Stix is.
I just chatted with Del (Sarge) . . . He’s at Disneyland with his family.
LMAO…”I know where Stix is.” Just got a letter from the Stixster recently. Need to sit down and read it.
You can just sort of feel the bleh of having Belt and Craw back in the lineup tonight.
Slater’s been worthless tonight. It would have been fun having Davis in the lineup tonight.
Zappa only goes four innings.
Yaz is a cool customer in the OF…I sure like the way he plays…
Nice work to get out of the jam, but I am hoping that is the end of young Tyler’s night…
Whew! Beede has dodged multiple bullets this game. Good for him. he can build on this outing.
This guy May looks like Raggedy Ann’s main squeeze. Hard to believe this skinny dude can toss it 98 MPH.
You need to share that letter here Chi.
Yes!
I will Blade. I’ll scan it and shoot a copy to Flav to post. I think I mentioned a while back that Stix called me one day several months ago. Dude’s mind is sharp as a tack, but the pen has been very hard on his body.
That would be great Chi.
Giants looked feeble vs. May, a third round Zaidi draft pick.
Don’t know what it is, but I can’t stand Kiki Hernandez…
Hey Blade – how is Sarge (Del)? We got together at a couple of the recent opening day games. Cool dude…
He was on a ride with his daughter at Disneyland. He looked like he was having a blast. Only a couple of lines were exchanged.
Loo’s perspective on the Dodgers is valid too. Maybe they are bored and are looking beyond the regular season to the playoffs? Who knows?
To me this is a team that just doesn’t look the same as they did earlier in the season. Tired, not focusing or bored . . . they’ll get their asses handed to them, if they continue to play like this.
Speaking of building on this for Beede, will the Giants (that would be you Bruce) give Jaylin a chance to build on anything but splinters in his ass?
“Don’t know what it is, but I can’t stand Kiki Hernandez…”
Like a lot of the Dodgers, he’s cocky and shows it. They think they’re some kind of dynasty, and they haven’t really done anything yet.
That’s how I feel about Pederson. Roberts has had to discipline him multiple times for lackadaisical play, such as not running out grounders, etc. Always has a scowl on his mug.
Kelly lucked out there with his team getting the DP.
Longoria has killed rallies all night. I know Belt got on base a couple of times, but the old core just sucks the life out of the team. The core kept the ‘19 team from making the playoffs. They are the biggest problem, and deep down they know it. You rarely see the core look like they’re actually having fun playing baseball anymore.
“You rarely see the core look like they’re actually having fun playing baseball anymore.”
Great point Zum. It’s almost as if they (also) see the hand writing on the wall, knowing that their time is about to end.
The 2 Brandons, the heart of the core, sporting identical first names and identical batting averages of .228. Ugh.
They used to have a blog together. I wonder if they kept that going. I doubt it.
It still exists. It has five posts this season:
https://sfgiants.mlblogs.com/tagged/brandon-and-brandon
Maybe the old core needs extra intercore to get their juices flowing anymore..
The old core needs to get the fuck outta dodge…
Another guy that thinks he is entitled is Bellinger. Roberts said this about him settling for a double on an almost sure triple . . . “I felt there wasn’t hustle on the play — the ball that he hit 421 feet into right-center field, and he cruised into second base,” Roberts told reporters, referring to a ball Bellinger smacked into the area called “Triples Alley.” “He plays every day, and there’s certain expectations for the way we have to play the game. When you don’t abide by that, we’ll get somebody in there that will. It’s pretty simple.”
Well, what can you say? Their role model was Puig for so many seasons. lqtm
Slater 3 Ks tonight. He’s missing fastballs that look hittable.
Shit you can tell Boch was pissed off on that hits batsmen by Coonrod, he was masterfully using the pen tonight which has been outstanding. He’s using a lot of arms tonight..
And on cue Abad was Agood with that DP ball..
Giants need at least one more run.
You never want to go into bottom of the 9th at the Latrine up just by one…
Beede only went 5, but showed some backbone tonight against a very good lineup, getting out of some jams.
Hopefully that gives him some confidence and an idea of how to focus to get out of trouble…
Hopefully is the key word..
Who the hell woulda thunk the Giants would be up 1-0 in the 9th on a Beede start…
Dubon with the dead quail….
So what’s the yellow bands everyone is wearing tonight for?
Thanks, Kat. I was going to ask the same question.
The kid keeps on impressing me. SB, single, and a walk. Now in scoring position. Let’s get insurance.
Dubon can steal, too.
This kid is the real deal…
I saw that AK. Bochy loooked like he was cursing under his breath.
Easy steal by the kid.
Yaz I think is the real deal. He hits the ball everywhere and usually has a plan when he’s up there.
Gawd a run here would be nice. How did we score?
Grounder by Pillar with bases juiced…
Geez nice turd pop up Belt your killing me..
No shit. I have an idea for Boch tomorrow – let’s try none of the core playing.
Tomorrow? How ’bout the rest of the season?…
Blade, Bochy would have to be hypnotized first before he thought of giving Davis a start..
Think “Manchurian Candidate”
The core killed the 9th inning rally.
Wow. Gustave for the save? Audition for next year?
These are the game they usually fall apart in the bottom of the 9th but I really feel confident in Gustave to do the job!!
The Giants scored in the first inning, but should have had more. Bases loaded and one out, and only got one run.
It’s the Giants way…😉
The yellow bands are in support of children with cancer.
I’m guessing the bands get put up for auction.
Thanks, Zume.
Thanks Zumie!
Oh boy.
I hate going into bottom 9th tied or up by one at the Latrine.
Almost as much as losing the game in top of the 9th…
One run lead in the 9th last night and they got it done….
Pillar perfectly positioned for what normally would have been a hit.
This Gustave can throw some cheese…
Wow.
That’s gotta be one of the best wins of the year, even though meaningless…
Not meaningless….it prolongs the bum’s eventual winning of the West.
As someone mentioned the other day, no way in hell I want them celebrating when our buys are on the field. Fuck those fucking fucks.
Ok, agreed, Chi.
Not entirely meaningless.
For Beede, maybe a springboard to getting mentally tougher…
Rico Gustave!!
BOOM DP to end it baby!
Beat L.A. again!
Fucking Eh! We took the series.
Bring yer fucking brooms tomorrow.
Yes sir Gustave delivers!!
DP is always sweet to end it!!
Giants are saying, your not celebrating clinching at home against us!!! Fuck LA! Let’s Sweep 🧹 their asses!!
Vontae Burfect was the guy that cleaned AB’s clock. Cheap shot all the way.
Bellichick signs AB just a few hours after this doofus asks for and gets release from Raiduhs.
$9 million signing bonus, $15 million with incentives.
Pats had no idea of the release, right? Organized the offer and executed the deal on the fly, from scratch. Only found out about it this morning. No prior discussions, which would be tampering.
Sure….
The Patriots cheat? Unheard of.
What I don’t get is the money.
This dude AB basically blows off the entire Raiduh pre season jacking around.
But, if he steps onto the field with the Raiduhs on Monday night, he triggers $29 million guaranteed.
Instead, he asks for and gets released, and signs for only $9 million guaranteed with Bellichick. And, he’s subject now to career ending injury and out $20 million difference in guaranteed dough. Why am I reading he gamed the system and came out on top?…
It’s hard overcoming a media narrative by using actual facts, once the media has decided what the narrative is. That was brilliantly displayed in the movie Wag The Dog. I need to see that movie again. Unfortunately movies rarely impact the culture all that much overall.
I should say GOOD movies rarely have big impact. Bad movies seem to often have more impact.
By the way, do you sometimes feel like the Mad Max movies are going to be non-fiction someday?
