A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Kap-tain Failure

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on August 11, 2020

Not much to say about that game. It was not as close as the score indicated. Another catcher interference call. More errors. No hit through 6 or whatever it was. The Giants embarrassed themselves on many levels last night. You can be boring and irrelevant, that doesn’t mean you have to be embarrassing, too.

I am not ok with Kap having a learning curve. He got hired to do this job, it is a prestigious and coveted position. He needs to be able to handle all aspects of it. I don’t care if this is a throwaway season, Z didn’t know that when he hired Kap and Kap didn’t know that when he accepted the position.

You get a job like this, sure you can get better at it over time. But you gotta have the team ready to play. You have to be better than this. The team you lead has to be better than this.

How did that happen? Did Pence suddenly become a time-traveler and project his swing back into 2014?

Kuiper…”Rogers can not be a confident pitcher right now. Giants have put him in a lot of big spots and it hasn’t always gone well”

I don’t get the love affair with this Rogers guy. He’s been very hit or miss. But hey, he gets the save.

    Ballgame!

lucky call, but close. And mister rogers gets it done. but i’ll be happy to see him rest tomorrow.

    Giants win!

I had suspected three wins on this road trip, four optimistically. Fulfill my optimism tomorrow, boys!

    • xoot's avatar xoot said, on August 11, 2020 at 10:06 pm

At the start of the “season,” I thought half the team would opt out rather than fly to Houston. If they win tomorrow, who knows how things’ll go. Never give up.

      • chipower9's avatar chipower9 said, on August 11, 2020 at 10:36 pm

Agree. 4-6 on this roady would qualify as a good road trip, given the teams played. And a couple of those losses were close ones, too. They keep playing hard and you gotta love that!

Whooda thunk It? Perhaps this one was a gift for all the fuckups and missed opportunities. I’ll bet Pence is grinning from here to Hong-Kong. Rogers has been given a bad rap, having been stuck in two or three nasty situations in this short season. He definitely deserved that save. So we win the runner on second hoohah. Okay, so we lost one that way and now we add a W to the L. Contributions from most of the lineup and rallies finally once again made our day. We’ll take it.
