Quiet Deadline
No surprises yesterday, Clev and Marte were the two biggest names to get moved. Even Clev in that 9 player deal, there weren’t any top prospects moving around. The Giants? Look, they weren’t going to trade Luciano, Ramos, or Bishop, after that the prospect mantle is pretty bare. I applaud Z for not making a move just to make a move. And we got the tatted up Banda! Come on, our street cred went up yesterday. You can’t put a price tag on street cred. I’m tired of living off the faint memory of what the Bowker Gang used to do for us…….

Hurricane was on the radio one night as I drove home, still on when I parked. The car’s sound system was good. “for something that he never done!” Several neighbors came out to ask me to turn the sound down.

A historic night for the Giants offense.
As of tonight Giants lead MLB in hits with 339. Also, three NLW lead the majors in runs scored, with SD #1, LA #2 and the Giants third. Going into the season what would the odds have been for that one.
A night to remember. Twenty years from now I wonder how many fans will say they were at the game.

Going into trading season Gausman stated he would want to come back to the Giants in free agency even if he got traded to another team. Tonight’s solid performance in the Box of Rox was a celebration for him and a heavy indicator he’ll get an extended contract to pitch half his games at Oracle.
Perhaps the team was celebrating too as Z and H never broke up “that old gang of mine.” Unit cohesion wins more battles than just about any other single factor in war or in sports. Keep an eye on this bunch. Right now they’re on top of the world. Dickerson, last year’s July phantasmagoria spark plug has keyed-in just in time for the last 23 games of the season. There could be more magic to come.
