Does this do anything 4 ya?

Honestly I couldn’t care less about ST games but it’s nice to see this trending in the right direction towards baseball in 2021. Very excited for a full season….

Stix how’s the weather been up there this year?

      • Carstie Clausen's avatar Carstie Clausen said, on February 28, 2021 at 9:29 am

Nice January. First half of Feb. nasty. Recently, warming up. Not much snow lately. 40’s for highs this coming week…so slightly better than average temps. No major storms predicted on 14-day forecast. Hoping to return up north week of 8th for a few days. So much cleanup on the trashed hacienda and grounds. Then back to Sitties for a few days and—hopefully into major cleaning, fixing, re-adjusting after a few more days down here.

I would watch a little league game right now.

    • Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on February 28, 2021 at 8:37 am

that’s funny, we have a little league field about 3 blocks from my house and I watch games down there all the time.

I enjoy watching little league and High School Baseball.

I enjoy watching football in the afternoon. One of the things I love about this country.
        Baseball, too.
I love baseball…ever since Arnold Rothstein fixed the World Series in 1919…

Bad knees and compromised liver will do that. Quite the shooting star, though…right in there with the big M’s: Marilyn Monroe, Roger Maris and Mickey Mouse.

For quite a few years he was the most talked about ballplayer that i remember.

        Fun fact (maybe)…
I think Mantle and Mays were one (1) career homer apart after the 1964 season…

I like Spring Training games on the MLB Network. In addition to seeing some baseball, all the various teams’ broadcasters generally do a good job of talking about what’s going on with the teams regarding the rosters- where the key needs and roster competitions are. Of course, everyone is positive and hopeful about their teams, as a new season is coming, and Spring is coming, and all those feelings of renewal.

one of my go-to Pandemic activities was to go down the hill to the Little League field (they started playing again sometime over the Summer) bringing a couple Fosters with me, watching the baseball game(s) and playing the ponies on my phone. Didn’t matter that I didn’t know anyone down there. Probably for the best, those kids sucked and if I had mingled amongst the parents I might have let that slip. No, I just stayed in my car under a shady tree sipping my Fosters, gambling and watching bad baseball. Pretty nice lil’ Sat or Sunday actually….

IMO, you couldn’t ask for a better day.
2 of those oil cans in Hanover Square was my go-to lunch at one of my lousy ’80’s jobs…

Vosler handles the grounder but Donnie Barrels botches the possible DP. First Giants play of ST.

Dusting off Bilasport to watch a few innings.

  10. zumiee's avatar zumiee said, on February 28, 2021 at 1:06 pm

This is the first I’ve heard that the early ST games are not going 9 innings.

    • xoot's avatar xoot said, on February 28, 2021 at 1:09 pm

How about the mid inning mercy rule? Hey, this guys done. He can’t get anyone out. Let’s roll it over.

Huff’s Twitter photo made me laugh.

    • zumiee's avatar zumiee said, on February 28, 2021 at 1:19 pm

His tweets are all hate and grievance.

      • zumiee's avatar zumiee said, on February 28, 2021 at 1:20 pm

I’m pretty sure he’s completely lost his mind.

He was never the same after the big contract and I think a subsequent divorce…

      • xoot's avatar xoot said, on February 28, 2021 at 2:23 pm

Huff’s a lunatic. He crows about receiving a WS ring in 2012, but he rants on twitter about how “participation trophies” emasculate boys. He’s in his early 40s. Somehow I doubt he’ll make it to 60.

Dubon looking a bit rusty at SS.

Well, they replaced him this inning with some 19 year old kid. 😉

The Kings missed 5 free throws in the last minute of the game, and lost by 1 point. Wow. That’s…..how to lose a game.
