Why Do We Watch?
At this point I am struggling to even find the interest to listen to SOME of the games on the radio when I’m driving around running errands. This team is boring and I just don’t have it in me right now. I’ll throw up a new thread for Flap Nation because you guys deserve it but my interest in the Giants right now is near zero…..

Thanks man. My blues photog buddy spends summers in Banner Elk NC, says they have had lot of rain lately. Beautiful shots of nearby creek, and place called Grandfather Mtn.
Been to Ashville but never really in the mountains like the Banner Lake area. Here on the coast, we’ve been getting a bit of rain, supposed to be stormy the rest of the week (helps cool it down a bit).

Villar has 20 HRs in Sac but looks more like line drive/high OB hitter than power guy. Giants need more pop in every day lineup.

Why watch? To see Longo have a game like that (nicely assisted by Wade at the end). I attended a Sept. 2013 game just to enjoy baseball on a warm Friday evening, and I saw Yusmeiro Petit pitch his near-perfecto against his old team. I watched games after work on our old no def tv late in the 68-win season of 1996 in large part because my 6-year-old son was beginning to get deeply into baseball then.
How can you not watch?
i dunno, just in a different place in my life now. I was texting with Kokonuts about that recently. He still loves baseball he just doesn’t really watch it anymore. Or at least right now. I like listening to the games on the radio better than watching them live or on tv

OK, re: the sac bunt in Manfred man era extras, by visiting team. It’s incumbent on visitors to score 2 runs, not just one, in order to win. That’s going to take at least 2 hits (unless one is bomb). by giving up an out even if you score once with given runner, you still need 2 hits to score again and now there is less chance of it with only 2 outs left.
Flemming was surprised Wade bunted, thought it was on his own. In that park, idk.
Even with 8-6 lead, 2 runs weren’t enough in 10th.
I relate to what both Flav and Xoot said.
I can’t watch MLB anymore. Mostly because I perceive it as boring compared to the game I grew up playing and watching. I still love the Giants, but more and more, they remind me of watching “laundry,” i.e., no emotional attachment to any of these players. Don’t even get me started on all the bogus new rules, freaking commercials, money grubbing owners and players, etc.
I haven’t watched a complete MLB game (other than the playoffs) in 2 years. Ironically, without much difficulty, I can recite most MLB players current stats because I play DFS.
Conversely, I have enjoyed going to live games, where I watched 2 of my cousins play HS and college ball during the last few years. Hard to explain, but amateur baseball, as well as minor league baseball, doesn’t seem corrupted as the MLB product. Those amateur players are playing baseball for the love of the game.
Almost forgot – happy birthday Willie. I hope you had a blast on your special day!
