We’re Happy Again!
What a delightful Niner win yesterday. CMC has made all the difference and it will be interesting to see if Jimmy and Kyle can screw this up with FOUR stud offensive options once Deebo gets back.
Game 3 tonight in Philly.

We all knew last week there was not much McCaffrey could have done with probably one practice under his belt but yday explained all the upside he brings, primarily to keep Jimmy G from losing his head and throwing the ball ip for grabs or to overthrow or underthrow receivers. Best place was when McCaffrey when out to the sideline for a dump off screen and the REM defender played off him so when Jimmy turned to throw McCaffrey made his move to turn the route up into the end zone leaving that Ram trying to cover the screen. Brilliant!!!
Didn’t see any of second half, but on radio Ryan said it was up to D to help JG out in rest of game. Obviously that’s just part of what happened, but imo that’s been theme all along. Give up 44 points and get shredded or give up another game losing TD to Russell Wilson, you’re sunk. Shut out the SB Champs (what a joke Rams are) for 30 minutes and Niners win going away.
Division is so there for taking.
Sorry the Giants couldn’t help out, their fucking punt returner blew any chance at another rally.
Meanwhile, Kerr and Warriors still trying to figure out how to win road game. Tolbert said earlier they needed to be Top 5 defensively, obvious that’s not where they are now with all the points and fouls given up to open season.
And yes, I do miss Gary Payton 2.
The whole league is there for the taking. This is Pete Rozelle’s wet dream. The entire league is pretty much .500. KC and Buffalo are legit. I don’t believe anyone else.
The Eagles? The Giants? Dallas? The Cowboys do have a legit defense, but the Iggles? I haven’t seen them or the G-men much so I guess I should reserve judgement. Shit, the Vikings are 6-1.
The fucking Raiders are 2-5 but could very well be 5-2. We could be 6-1. It seems like every game is close and they all come down to the wire.
It’s the best run league, hands down. The owners haven’t let the players union trample all over them and small market teams can actually reasonably keep their players and have a chance to compete for a title. I wish the MLB owners would have gone for the jugular when they had the chance during this last work stoppage. Maybe they could have clawed back some power.

Yeah, Ol’ Pete was way ahead of the game where it came to revenue sharing and convincing the owners that (for the most part) it’s good for the game when everyone has a shot on a level playing field.
Granted there are teams like Detroit, Cleveland, and AZ (they’ve been kinda good recently) that are run terribly and appear to be nothing more than a tax dodge, but Green Bay would have died 85 years ago if they were a baseball team.
Hard to shed tears for MLB owners, but they are their own worst enemy when they cry about exorbitant salaries when no one is twisting THEIR arms to sign guys to $550 million deals. Then get caught colluding while they tear apart the minor leagues because it ‘costs so much money’ to run minor league teams and pay players $200.00 a week.
Please. They are shutting off the spigot of talent at the cost of pennies.
It’s nice to see what happens when the Niners don’t make stupid mistakes. That is why we have lost so many games. So far it looks like we avoided the dreaded injury bug yesterday also.
If it wasn’t for penalties and turnovers, we’d be 6-2. We are still -3 in turnovers.
Yep. Good time for the bye. If Armstead, Al-Shaair, Greenlaw, McGivitz, Deebo, Mitchell, and Juice can all come back, hey, we might be a little more consistent. I have no hope for Kinlaw.
Shit, we can even trade Wilson for some secondary help.
Just looked up Philly weather, says it’s 50% chance of rain. Manfred has final call.
Humidity 80%. One report said game start might be OK but supposed to get worse later.
Cue Mac with facts!
I don’t do weather, haha.
Yeah not only postponed due to rain but the next 4-5 days call for rain as well, could be in for a long wait getting game 3 in. Long rain delay getting the Yankees/Giants game 7 back in 63 I believe? The results sucked as Willie McCovey line drive to 2B Bobby Richardson to end the game and possibly prevented the Giants 1st W/S in San Francisco 🫣😩
Baseball should not be going on in November. Now all you young hoodlums get off my lawn.
The 2001 November 4th game 7 is the record and was matched by the 2009 November 4th game 6. It seems like this series will easily break these 2 records.
Whoops . . . This may not be accurate, i.e., I got this from a 2015 article. lmao.
2nd footnote . . . Nope, I am right, these are still the latest WS games played in November per this article:
https://dknation.draftkings.com/2022/10/31/23424282/world-series-november-history-mlb-playoffs-phillies-astros
So, half of the WS over the past 14 years played into November (this one likely well into November). Obviously, the change of the calendar from one page to the next is arbitrary, but it just seems stupid to be playing ball in the 11th month of the year for what is supposedly a joyous game of Summer…
If the owners had gotten their way (MLB Players Association nixed it), there would have been 2 more teams added to the playoff format. Consequently, the World Series would likely smash the November 4th record (and whatever record is set in this WS).
Yeah, MLB Commissioner has zero clue. If the NFL is the best run league as SD said, the MLB has to be the worst run league by a country mile. The irony is that they still make money . . . but for how long?
I don’t mind a more prominent focus on the post-season (more teams, longer series like this year), the post-season is fun. But then they should shorten the regular season to 150 games, which is still a long season.
They could have started the WS 4 days earlier or 2 days earlier, both teams having gone through the LCS in short order. But, no. Had to wait to start on a Friday — so they could face the weekend high school and college football competition? Crazy…
Yeah, I guess that’s my sense of it: with all the autumnal (and winter) sports going on in November, unless *your* team in the WS, haven’t you kind of lost interest in baseball at this point? Is this sacrilege to say? I don’t know, personally I’m ready for the off-season to see what the FO does to make the G’s more interesting and enduring.
I’m pretty sure there’s been years (even non-pandemic) that the NBA and NHL have played in all 4 seasons by the time the champion is crowned.
I remember an NHL playoff game way back when it was so hot out they had to play in
a fog that formed above the ice surface.
Heading for YouTube….
Well that was easy….
Also had that problem at the old Boston Garden when the Bruins went deep into May. Went to one game against Oilers (Gretsky et al) one year when they had to postpone the game or they delayed it significantly or something. So yeah, it ain’t just baseball going too long. Hockey should end just as baseball is starting, basketball not far behind.
Yeah, ’88 Stanley Cup finals against Edmonton.
Maybe the Dubs lost on Defense because of the punch. Draymond being more passive or less respect so he can’t get in guys faces now, or when he does he doesn’t command the same respect?
Even when hurting last year green a force by his presence. Not right now. They are giving up 15 more points per game than last year, and vs lousy teams to boot.
It ain’t dray. Well he’s feeling his age. It’s the absence of gp 2 and Porter. Kuminga isn’t playing D and neither is Poole. Wiseman is a foul machine and Thompson isn’t what he was. Steph is Steph. They are a mess defensively right now. Kuminga wants to play more but Kerr wants more D out of him
I think Paul’s 8:25 is spot on. giants have spent one 5 game week in post season in last 6 years. Once LA is knocked out, I don’t care much who wins or not. I can also do without Fox hateful political hit piece commercials.
As for shortening time frame to avoid Thanksgiving World Series, spring training is good place to start. Players stay in shape year round these days and it’s too long as is. With global warming a factor, should be plenty enough yards to schedule early games without snow and cold.
Rainout means Phils won’t have to start Syndegard (weakest link in rotation) til game 5. See how this works out.
At least White Sox not hiring another old guy to manage them in 52 yr old Pedro Grifol.
iirc my Hispanic friends in SF in 70s used to use slang word “grifo” to describe somebody that was high. como, estoy grifo
Why the fuck would we get rid of Jeff Wilson Jr? He’s like one of my favorite players on the Niners. And i bet we got shit for him. Why do that? CMC could easily get hurt, same with Mitchell who supposedly is coming back. This makes ZERO sense
5th rounder. Fuck that. I guess we could re-sign him next year and we do need to start replenishing our picks but still…..
I don’t like it either.
They don’t need Wilson the dude even injured himself in the locker room last year on his stool ferchrissakes.
They have CMC,Mitchell back soon,TJP a big back and younger .Wilson for a 5th rd pick is a steal with his history of injuries which is considerable..
How.can you not like JWJ??!!!! He’s a complete and total gamer and the dude breaks off chunks of 5+ runs all the time
JWJ is just basically a 3rd RB option on a team that has better and younger RB’s.
Hell every running back in football averages 5 yards a clip except my bum Najee Harris playing on a lot shittier team with no OL. Hey I like JWJ and he’s going to another coach in McDaniel that knows him well to combine with Mostert for Niner east in Miami.I would rather have CMC&Mitchell and TJP over Mostert&Wilson jr and whoever their 3rd back chump is..
every RB averages 5.0 a carry? What the fuck are you talking about? JWJ averages 5.1 a carry go fucking look at how many RB’s are averaging more than that and then come back here and apologize for your dumbass post. Sorry, but this was one of your worst ‘Kat.
I know Jamal Charles did.
Jim Brown, too.
After that idk…
Assuming Mitchel is back soon Wilson is never going to play. They gave up 4 picks for CMC. If he’s hurt were done anyway
Credit where credit is due—-Smoltz basically called that Harper bomb and gave reasons why before it happened. Impressive.
surprised that kid, who probably plays baseball, didn’t catch that ball. Embarrassing.
Warriors with nice 3rd quarter run to go up 10 on Heat. Steph with lob to Wiseman for dunk then pretty pass behind back to Wiggins for 3 off break. D is more engaged too. small ball with Green at C and Wiggins Curry Klay Poole/Moody ended first half well.
Is Dusty asleep? Why is he letting this happen???/
Well maybe you should get your facts right before calling me a dumbass BF..
Running Backs all over 5 yards a carry this season
Walkerlll,Chubb,Jacobs,Jones,Etienne,Herbert,Pollard,Hall( injured) Penny( injured)Patterson but will be back plus JWJ
And sitting right there are
Stevenson 4.9
Sanders 4.9
Cook 4.9
Barkley 4.8
Not one of those RB’s is worst then Wilson btw..
Attaboy Kat!
Don’t let the big guy trample on you!
Not certain I can EVER recall an MLB game, much less a WS game, with 5 bombs accounting for all the runs and 5 of 6 hits.
With Mitchell coming back I figured they’d trade Wilson. They ain’t gonna get anything trading Tevin Coleman. And they are hunting for draft picks.
The league is littered with our RB cast-offs. Matt Brieda’s on the Giants, JaMycal Hasty is with the Jags, Trey Sermon’s on the Iggles, Raheem Mostert’s on the Phins, now Wilson’s joining Raheem in Florida. They all got hurt here, but not where they went.
I guess the front office finally has bought into the fact that they don’t draft well till 4-7 so they covet that 5th rounder.
Dubs looking eminently beatable these days. Defense is a thing of the past.
What up with the Philllies? Didn’t see them winning any of these series. They just keep rolling. Dusty slow getting someone out?
May God bless you for not saying “imminently” like most of the dumbbells with whom I associate…
The Astros are eminently and immanently beatable, and imminently beaten.
Hah! Predictions that my demise is imminent are numerous, however.
Phils hitting a buncha bombs in that ballpark is no surprise, but 8 shutout innings so far vs. that lineup? Phreakin’ wild what a wave of momentum this team is riding.
Wouldn’t it be great if 20 years later they get a photo of Darren Baker carrying a crying Dusty into the locker room after being eliminated?
He’d be 100 but yeah.
