A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Well, nothing crushing hope like an 11-1 drubbing. I love how Homer Kruk is like “yeah the start time is really going to affect these bats” but it seems to have only affected one team’s bats.

I turned on the radio in the 2nd or 3rd and Kruk goes “98 MPH slider PAINT at the knees. That’s an unhittable pitch.” And I’m thinking “hey, ok, let’s go, Seymour must finally be DEALING” only to find out he’d just given up 4 runs.

I’m not gonna lie, I looked at the wild card standings this morning. Why not? Don’t cost nuthin’. The elusive dream of .500 is but one win away….And we have our great opener Carson Seymour leading the way today. I’ve never felt more confident in my entire life…..

With James stepping up and helping the team take another step towards 81 wins this year I am truly getting excited about this upcoming series. This is going to be razor thin all the way to the wire. I know all the Flappers stand in unison with me.

Baltimore has been a horrific disappointment this season I can’t imagine they’re too invested in winning anything right now. And with our group of vets freshly relieved from any pressure to win I am expecting a solid effort from the team this weekend.

Drubbing is a great word. Here we are, after taking all the pressure away and looking into the mirror of truth of who they really are this season…..they begin to win games. And while the win streak is modest, it’s against 2 of the best teams in the league.

And it begs the question…..where were these guys all Summer?

They are significantly better than we are. Factor in us having to play them in our own home park and we are really up against it in this series.

Man, we haven’t had a game like that in what seems like forever. Miller was awesome on the radio in that 9th inning. He genuinely got me excited about the team again even if it was just a fleeting moment.

Sadly, we now return home where all we do is lose.

Day off to prepare for that letdown.

Now that we are hopelessly out of it I could see the Giants starting to play well again. Win just enough to save BoMid’s job. I hope I’m wrong but the season just has that feel to it.

Adames hits two bombs and we still lose. There’s no bottom to this season.

Turns out we played yesterday. I thought it was an off day for some reason. Man, straight from SD to Milwaukee. No rest for the wicked (losers).

Brewers are only -180 to beat us tonight. LOL. Should be -500.

We added Devers, Adames and got a full year out of the Hooligan. And we got worse than last year. How?

That’s 3 games in a row where they have scored in exactly one inning each game. ONE inning.

Giants have started a pattern where they score in the first inning never to be heard from again. Someone tell the bats there are 8 more after that one.

Giants score 4 in the first and then gear it down and cruise to a 4-3 win. I just want them to get to 81 wins. Who’s got odds on that?

I honestly don’t get how anyone could support BoMel at this point. If you do, I’m putting you on the spot: tell me why? And don’t give me any bullshit about “he can’t hit the ball or pitch the ball or throw the ball.” What has he done THIS YEAR that you think has been a reason (or reasons) to keep him? Obviously Buster extended his good buddy but hiring your friends and keeping them around even when they fail at their job is probably more of a hole in your own game than something to highlight.

I picked this game up on the radio when they were down 7-0. Driving around, ticking off errands….now it’s 10-0. I keep listening. And I’m like, “why am I listening to this? I bet the bone is playing something rad on 107.7”. So I click over there and Thuderstuck was rockin’ the airwaves and all of a sudden I was happy again.

I can’t imagine paying money to see this joke of a team.

What 3 words would you guys use to describe this shitty, unwatchable team?

Afternoon KNBR guys were discussing this: If you don’t want to talk about what Melvin has done to lose his job how bout we discuss what he has done to keep it? Buster gives this ghost an extension, for no fucking reason whatsoever, and the team goes into a tailspin. Literally. They’ve been the worst team in baseball since he did this. What has Melvin done to deserve AN KEEP this esteemed job?

I’ve said this many times before, Buster’s biggest hole in his game is his loyalty to his friends. You can’t do that when you’re the man in charge. Tough decisions have to get made all the time. And you can’t have them colored by friendship.

BoMel has to go…….

If Verlander pitches well we lose. If he pitches poorly we lose. Only a fool would keep running this loser out there at this point.

Huge game. I simply will not tolerate losing 2 of 3 to the shitty Nats at home. Verlander will bring his A game. Lol. I hope. Gore can be tough when he’s on. Expect lots of K’s today….

that one caught me off guard a bit. I even looked it up. Sure enough, it’s true.

What a refreshing game to watch. We win at home against a terrible team. I’m sorry I ever took it for granted.

Honestly, this homestand scares me. Forget for a min we lost 6 straight in the last one. Washington has one of the worst pitching staffs in the league. Why do they scare me? We should smash those arms all over the yard. But still……Padres are obviously going to be tough. And Tampa is just one of those teams that always plays hard as fuck no matter what their record is.

Well, they held on. Butto–Walker—R-Rod. If those 3 can cobble together something useful in the last 3 innings we just might have a chance of finishing over .500 this year. And that would be an accomplishment.

Despite the fact that we should have won 5 of the last 6 it should still feel pretty good winning the first 2 series’ on the road…..

Now a 9 game homestand which will tell us how exciting September might or might not be.

Everyone got a hit in the line up. When was the last time that’s happened? How do you even look that up? I’d love to know the answer.

I know this is crazy to say but I am not giving up on the season. When you have 2 aces (Webby and Ray-ey) and a HOF #3 is has been pitching like a legit #3 lately you really aren’t ever done.

I watched that loss on the Score app on my phone. No sound. No video. Just green and red dots sprinkling the screen around a pretend strike zone with the run total for Pittsburgh clicking upward one by one. After Bart won it I just quietly put the phone down. Why can’t we find a pitcher who can actually close a game successfully? And don’t fucking say “We had Doval” he was one of the worst we’ve ever had in terms of fucking shit to hell on the reg.

You know what, fuck it, just enjoy the game day to day. I’m hoping for over .500 by the end of the year. I mostly like this team so it’s not hard to root for them. Easily more appealing than the Farhan days.

Chuck, I had a ticket to the show on Saturday but couldn’t swing it. Would have been hilarious to run into you there.

He still sucks and I’m glad he’s gone….

But, our bullpen is now in predictable disarray without him or Rogers.

At least it’s an interesting start with The Wiz today. Any of our NY Flap contingent going?

Here me out…it’s all been Doval’s fault. Bad body language. Bad luck. Bad karma. Bad juju. Bad everything. And now that he’s gone and doing the same thing to the Yankees the tide has turned in our favor. Fortuna spineth upwards.
