A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Bummed Philly Phans

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on October 10, 2025

What a gross way for LA to advance. Philly sucks. But the flip side is that Phootball Philly lost to the Giants lol. Love it. Philly losing, no matter the sport, will always be preferred.

Also, it’s my dad’s birthday. Happy 88th my man! See you in a few hours.

Congratulations and Happy Birthday Mr. Vaughan . . . and many more!

    Have fun Flav.

Phils had held Dogs lineup to 1 run in near 11 innings. Credit to Cubs pitching and IF D to hold down high scoring Brewers too. Stanford guy Hoerner and Swanson playing really well. Maybe Posey is onto something about pitching and D.

Speaking of whom, Baggs seems to think Hundley is his guy–lack of any previous experience at all as manager bother anyone?

      DIdn’t hurt for Vogt.

True but he has had good pitching staff last 2 years. Posey has lot of work to do in that regard. Wonder what Hundley’s coaching staff will look like.

That sucked. I can’t help but wonder if the pitcher forgot how many outs there were! No pitcher ever throws home rushed like that with 2 outs..

i think he just panicked once he fumbled the ball. So brutal to watch. This generations Bill Buckner

Realmuto stood up and pointed for 1b. Guy just flipped and flung ball toward plate. Sasaki was tough though and so was Glasnow. Dogs pitching zapped Phils lineup.

I wonder if pitchers actually take any fielding practice during the season after the last day of Spring Training. Seems doubtful from the look of so many botched plays. They seem generally awful and clueless when it comes to fielding the position except for the easiest, most routine of chances. Even then, no guarantees. Our Ryan Walker was a shining example of cluelessness this season. A stand out opposite IMO was Timmy. The little dude always looked sprightly and smart while fielding. He was quick as a cat off the mound, and typically knew what to do.

Phillies handed the series to the Doghairs on a platter. Disappointing. I’ve generally bailed on baseball for this post season, but rooting for either the Cubs or Brew Crew over LA, doesn’t matter which one…

Fairly certain it was a game we attended snarkk, but do you remember Timmy shagging balls in the outfield pregame? He was very athletic out there.

Vague memory on that one, blade. I trust your memory on that one!

I miss that little guy so much. When he pitched, the game was an adventure, usually a wondrous one…

Man, I saw so many good games and god-awful ones with Timmy. The good ones were fantastic, but by the end it was a shame.

Saw Tim in person very early on. Game is remembered more for the Benitez double balk. Can’t remember why Bonds didn’t start, I guess just being rested. The pregame media was about 5 deep at the cage during Bonds’ BP…

Big one tonight for the Seattle area — fans up here are absolutely desperate to get the Mariners to the ALCS and into the WS for the first time. Looks like rain, so the stadium roof likely closed. If M’s lose, the psych help lines will be jammed.

Cal Raleigh of the M’s had an absolutely mind-blowing season offensively, and doing it as a very good defensive catcher, no less. Accordingly, I don’t understand how there is even a question that he is the AL MVP. If he and Judge switched teams and produced the same stats, Raleigh would win the MVP by acclamation…

Sorry for the repeat. WordPress is horrible, and no cancel button.

Pitcher made an error on the slow grounder, but compounded this error with a mental error (thinking too much???) and muffed the throw to Realmuto. Just me, but this was far worse, having 2 physical errors – one of which was compounded by panicking (mental error); versus what Buckner did, as Buckner was an outstanding fielder at first base.

Fucking Pierzynski is calling it the right move.

Bullshit. Pulling Skubel was even iffy at 96 pitches after 6. I mean, it’s possibly your last game and you’re gonna come out after 6?

The managers must really miss that ghost runner. How are they supposed to remember what to do in extra innings?

Fox doesn’t use the strike zone box? Statcast or whatever it is?

The Blue Jays and Mariners were both born in 1977. That’s gonna be a huge talking point…
