What A Game!
Forgetting their record and how maddening they’ve been this year it has been awesome to see this team fight the way it has been fighting lately. And as awful as Walker can be he really did have a little bad luck there and how great was it to see him focus up and finish off the Nats with the bases loaded and nobody out. I don’t know what Adames was doing there but he didn’t panic and he finished the play. Well done.
And…well….DONE. Assuming the Flap goes away on April 20th as it appears to be doing I will make this my last thread and say good bye to you guys now. It’s been an honor to do this for as long as we’ve done it. I will always cherish the relationships I’ve made with so many of you. Take the rest of today and tomorrow to say goodbye. I fully expect to see some of you guys just like always. Flap Giant games are still on the table. Me and Diggity will still go golfing together a couple of times a year. And some day, likely at the Breeders Cup next year (October 2027) at Belmont, I will finally get to meet the great DJ Loo and drink a few beers in person. MacDog and Kokonuts and anyone else out east, I hope you guys are there, too.
Take care ya’ll. I’m really gonna miss this place and chattering away with you guys like we’ve done for the last 18 years…..
Craig, you da man. You being the ringmaster to this circus all these years is pretty amazing. Cheers to ya and safe travels. Cheers to all y’all here at the flap, it’s been a ride, gotta love it.
I’m still going with 93 wins this year. it’ll be a monster run.
If we actually meet up at Belmont for BC 27 I will never question the existence of God again…
“And have we done with War at last?
Well, we’ve been lucky devils both,
And there’s no need of pledge or oath
To bind our lovely friendship fast,
By firmer stuff
Close bound enough.” — Robert Graves
Forever Flappers, will miss you all, take care of you and yours….
You made me cry…thanks
Too many here I never met…
Nice job by the Ortiz bros fixing the Oaklawn Handicap…
Casey hitting .317 like Mays did in ’65…
and some guy named Clemente for his career…
Loo, next time I’m back and in NJ, I’ll try to spearhead a meet up, get MacDog John from South Jersey too, head into the city, maybe meet at Finnerty’s…..
Love it!
MacDog would go to Gaza to meet a Flapper…

I also just want to say one more thing. As an American living on the other side of the world, I do what I can to “feel in touch” with my country and countrypeople… and among all the media possibilities at my disposal, truly the Flap has been my main source of feeling connected, for 17 years now. My breakfast and coffee read, every morning. Often my check in before sleep read, every night. The Flap is just not replaceable in that regard. Feel so lucky to have been a part of this. Thanks, Craig, you have no idea….
