Dodgers….
Knowing we get to slide right into a series against our *supposed* greatest rival makes it a little easier to focus on that and not on yesterday. And yesterday would have been a little easier to stomach if we hadn’t already had that inspiring comeback in the 9th. Oh well, nothing you can do about that……
Krukow was on the radio this AM saying we’re catching the Dodgers at the right time— Broxton threw 43 pitchers yesterday, a bunch of their guys are hurt. I think that type of thinking is BS. It’s on US to play well for once against this team. The way we’ve been playing against them recently they could field their AAA team and still probably beat us……
Regarding Twin’s last post, even the Mets agree with him . . . In truth, Rodriguez not only blew the save, but should have gotten the loss (instead of the win), but for the blown call at home plate by Cuzzi on the tag play. Even his catcher, Henry Blanco, didn’t think he got the tag down in time. “He was safe all the way,” Blanco said. “[Cuzzi] was making bad calls all day. There were a few calls that should not have happened in this game.”
Anyone who cites a different reason, e.g., manager, radio waves, Obama, etc., is imbibing a bit too much.
Still carrying 13 pitchers according to the MLB transaction log. You on the way to buy those blue caps DMD??? Don’t know if I could ever sink that low, but these are trying times for sure.
Trying fucking times?! Gimme a break dude.
No more excuses…we must kick some serious Bastardo ass this week! Two of three is a must. Sick of losing ot those bastards.
The family and I were away for the weekend and missed all the hoopla till I got home and saw that nauseating replay where Travis was so clearly safe. The bitterness would not have been so bad had the Padres lost at least one of those games this weekend. How frickin bad are the D-Backs? So sucks to lose a half game on the Padres since the All-Star break, but a little perspective.
If we win three of four against a pretty darn good team in the Mets with pretty capable pitching, then that is a great weekend. I am not too worried about the offense because it looks like the staff decided to stop fucking around and stepped up to the level of performance they should have been over the last month.
But no need to whine about one loss in four. 9 out of 10 times, the Giants lose that last game in a potential sweep, and to hang in against Santana and FRod, is a pretty good feat. We just need to take care of business against the NL West starting tonight.
Of course I still want another bat and this 13 pitcher thing as I agreed with on Thursday and Friday is still frickin ridiculous. I could see Velez getting the call up..Lord save us!
GH, agree 3 out of 4 is the point.
I keep seeing Velez’s name getting thrown out there. I would rather see Downs or Rohlinger. Shit why not give Belt a taste. Sure there is a logjam at 1b but that doesn’t mean the dude can’t come off the bench oh, I don’t know maybe in the 9th inning of a close game instead of El Presidente. It is probably better that he keeps getting consistent PT but the guy is tearing it up. I would hate to see him packaged for some douchebag like Guillen.
I think they put Pill in a trade way before Belt…actually Bowker probably should be the one brought back for this series against the Bastardos…I think the odds we trade for Guillen as probably higher than for any other hitter. I am not saying I want that deal, but one I feel is coming…
Gringo, I want to make sure you see this. From the previous thread:
Gringo, your posts are unbelievable. There is just too much stupidity for me to comment on, so I’ll just call the lot of them what they are: STUPID.
The Giants have gotten off to exactly the start they needed to in the second half, and it took a blown fucking call by a “professional” umpire to steal away a four game sweep. Against a very good team. And what do you do? Immediately come in here and kvetch about bullshit nitpicky shit.
I’m as quick as anyone to criticize the team when it’s warranted. This weekend was not one of those times.
Well said, JBat. Nice post.
I agree with GH. It’s time to kick some Dodger ass. Tonight is a perfect opportunity with MadBum on the mound against McDonald.
Beat the Bums!!!
It’s easy to get excited about 3 of 4 and 9 of 11….but, as GH just pointed out we still lost ground in the division over the weekend so it matters less if we lost 3 of 4 with same result. It’s all semantics in the end.
Bottom line, they need to find a way to be better than everyone else to make the playoffs and ‘hoping’ for another team’s collapse should be secondary to better controlling your own house, which starts with better situational hitting, sustained great SP, and of course, better roster/team management. Yesterday’s game case in point.
This whole ’13 pitcher thing’ is ALL on Bochy, and comes from the same ‘logic stream’ of keeping Posey in the minors to start the season and keeping Rowand and Molina in the lineup until forced not to. In the words of Ren…..’eeedddiiiottttttt.
I would say the Padres not losing had more to do with losing a half game than with how we played. We cant win every game and one would think the Padres cant keep playing the D-Backs.
But I think the roster management and Posey decision was all on Sabean and frankly as a Bochy-basher, I was surprised that Bochy actually pulled the plug on Rowand and I think he was going to with Molina as well if that trade did not happen.
We are going to have nothing but good thoughts here all day…everyone say “OOOOOHHHHHMMMMM” or whatever those Buddhists chant!
We need this to be the moment where Buster Posey implants his name on the legend of the Giants-Bastardos. Just like those great games from Jack Clark-Will Clark-Matt Williams-Barry Bonds who implanted their names on great games against the Bastardos, would be awesome to see Posey pick up the mantle and become Mr. Giant starting this week!!!
How has Bowker been performing anyway?
Looks like Bowker 9 out of his last 36 with just one homer…not too good…
Gringo, the Giants can only control what they are doing, not what the Padres are doing. If the G’s keep playing like they have the last couple of weeks, it won’t matter what San Diego does. And they were playing a shit team this weekend, and it showed.
July 16 was b-day of late local great latin jazz vibist Cal Tjader. One of my fav CDs is his “Latin concert” recorded live in SF at the old Blackhawk club, 1958, featuring the great Mongo Santamaria. First cut is a smoking number he wrote entitled Viva Cepeda.
Cepeda was the answer to trivia question for who holds SF rookie record for HRs in a month, with 9. Obviously this has stood up for a long time…I’m sure he would join all of us in shouting Viva Posey if the kid broke the record…like say this week. Or tonite!
Velez 14 out of the last 41 ABs, just 2 SBs…
Shit Gringo. Taking 3-4 from the Mets is seriously a good thing. It should have been 4-4. They didn’t gain ground? Well, they did. They passed LA in the west. They passed the Mets, and the Phillies, and LA in the WC. They played very well vs a good team.
Yes, they have to catch the other teams. Don’t you think that by taking 3-4 (or 2-3), and winning series is just the way to DO that? Not all teams stay hot all the time, but they just need to be consistent enough to win the next series, then the next, and so on. The Giants have to win in the west. No matter all the other talk, they HAVE to improve their record in the west starting NOW.
“Catching the Dodgers at the right time.” BS indeed. The last time we played the Dodgers they were coming off a 2-8 stretch, including that spectacular choke job by Broxton vs. the Yanks on the Sunday night game — and they swept us. So here we go again, LA off a 4-game sweep and another Broxton collapse. At least this time, we just took 3 of 4 over another team that’s owned us of late. Hopefully MadBum will be the one to ignite the reversal of that ugly division record.
Exactly Chuck. We gained 2 on the Mets, 1 1/2-game on the Rox, 3 on the Dodgers for the WC. Not a bad weekend’s work. And we have, what, 9 games left with the Padres? The division is far from over.
Giants have 10 remaining (6H, 4A) with SD. It something we informed Dodger fans like to know.
How many pitchers on our roster Brian Sabean? The sporting goods store opens at 11:00.
They win 15 of 20, the world is right. Then they lose 10 of 15, and the world is black. I have been nothing but consistent in stating I believe what is holding and will hold this team back is the team-wide philosophy and on field/roster management which gets covered up in little winning streaks like we’ve seen. But….yesterday was a prime microcosm of what I am referring to. I said 88 wins and stick to it. Enough to make the playoffs? Most likely not.
Problem is, the team has very little direction and certainly no consistency – two recipes for another failed season that will be dressed up by a winning record and occasional performances to give us false hope. I’m the only one who goes out on a limb to say it so looks like I’m the Flapper martyr. 13 fucking pitchers with this staff??? Yep, that’s competence right there. Nothing like going into a game each and every day with an arm tied behind your back.
Rejoice the 9 of 11, but if they happen to lose 2 of 3 from the Bums, in which their track record over the last few years would say they will, then what will you say? The world is ending? If they do in fact lose 2 of 3, Room B just might be filling up and I’ve kind of enjoyed the solitude…
July records:
COL 9-4 —
SF 10-5 —
SD 8-5 1
LA 6-8 3.5
Rox had 10 of their 13 at home. Conversely, just 4 of 11 played at AT@T. SD +1 H, LA even split.
Did Sabean shit-can a pitcher yet? I’m waiting…..
So, Gringo, the only thing holding back the Giants is a 1
So, Gringo, the only thing holding back the Giants from a wold series victory is a 13th position player?
Which player is it? Lou Gehrig?
“just 4 of 15 played…” Having 13 pitchers on the roster has fucked with my math.
Dennis, who are the candidates? Casilla, Bautista, Martinez and Ray?
Of them, Martinez the only one I believe has an option. Seems they should send him back to Fresno until they decide who to waive, if any.
Casilla is now their replacement for Runzler, so that leaves Bautista or Ray, who they just traded for.
Option Joe back to Fresno or just waive Bautista would be my best guess. Definitely not, Ray. If it were up to me, I’d do both and go with an 11-man staff. But I know that isn’t gonna happen, so I’ll settle for either/or. It just better be either/or before tonight’s first pitch.
Wellemeyer will probably replace Martinez as the long man, so Bautista is likely the one gone for a an extra hitter…
If a hitter gets called up, I’d love to see it be Bowker. I still haven’t given up on the guy and I, for one, don’t feel he has ever been given a legit full shot to show what he can do up here. I’m not worried about him hitting .250 in his last x at-bats in the coast league as I wouldn’t be surprised if he has lost a bit of motivation to perform in Fresno. For me, Bowker is getting close to Frandsen territory where I wanted to see the Giants get rid of him—-not because I didn’t think he could play, but because I was tired of seeing him get dicked around and wanted him to get a shot somewhere in MLB. Fred Lewis was a totally different deal for me. I wanted the Giants to get rid of him because I didn’t think he deserved a spot on the team.
I’m completely fired up for this series. I hate the Dodgers as much as I ever did and I’m tired of losing to them.
The weep would have been sweet, but 3 out of 4 againts the Mets is what I think we all were hoping for.
Just back from Hawaii, and had trouble following our Giants other than the poor Sports Center coverage. The huge positive over the last couple weeks is definitely Posey. His numbers have been great and watching that swing (the last two games since I’ve been home) is fantastic. I think he’s poised to do some damage against the bums.
BEAT LA!!!
Should have been a swep, not a weep. Was that a Freudian slip?
Sweep, not swep. Still feeling the effects of the Mai Tais.
Might as well throw in “should have been a Schweppes,” and blame it on the gin and tonics.
For God’s sake 3Bagger, get your shit together. We’ve got a big series kicking off tonight and we need you to be at your best.
If they continue to carry 13 pitchers into this series, it borders on management insanity, especially after yesterdays Whiteside debacle redux. The starters have been nails, it is post AS break, so there is no issue of Pen fatigue. There is an issue of Pen quality, but it seems Bautista is the clear choice to send down. Bowker, whoever — somebody with a bat needs to come up. I don’t see how continuing the 13 can be justified in any way, somebody with a bat must be en route to LA right now, they just haven’t announced it, is my guess…
Turnaround in the divisional performance begins tonight with Bumgarner bringing it and Buster behind the plate. This is NOT the team the LaBumbos whaled on earlier in the year. Signs of the Panda’s return are bursting out. Uribe is starting to get it back. Huff is a steady performer. Torres is an amazing little dude: Now at 4th in the league in doubles with the guys ahead of him having quite a few more ABs. Also high on the SB list.
Starting pitching was sterling against the Mets. Left the BP a bit rusty and with eight relievers, that’s a ridiculous situation. Only logic i can see there is that one or more of them might get packaged with prospects in deals for (1. a reliable and steady 7th or 8th inning guy; (2. a possible long-term SS like Reid Brignac and/or (3. a high OBP outfielder who can bat in the 2-hole, sending Franchez to the 8-spot. Needless to say the packaging would include one or more of the ML ready or near ready threesome of Henry Sosa; David Mixon and Daryl Maday.
IMHO, Brandon Belt is totally UNTOUCHABLE in any kind of trade involving anything less than an ESTABLISHED .300-30-100 hitter younger than 31 and who would be under team control for no less than two years. And you can count those guys on the fingers of one hand ~ maybe. Belt’s looming arrival is making Ishikawa and brett Pill available and the current rise of Charlie Culbertson as a second baseman makes Brock Bond, Nick Noonan, Matt Downs and Ryan Rohlinger into prospective trade-bait. The farm-system is loaded with upper-midrange prospects. Sabean should be preparing packages.
LaBumbos are reeling and demoralized. Cardinals clocked em. They went crawling back to the Latrine with their tails between their legs. Giants lead the majors in runs scored over the past several. The offense has been jelling right before our eyes. I doubt whether James McDonald will faze them like some other callups did to our previous LUs earlier in the season. Kershaw got rocked by the Cards. He gets to face a resurgent consecutive Cy Young winner. Then Lady Billingsley goes up against a Zicasso who humbled the Mutts.
Bumgarner tonight. He’s gonna get offensive support. Keep an eye on that kid behind the plate and be watchful for Panda spoor.
As Macdog aptly pointed out, Dodgers were demoralized last time…
Remember their pen was a mess and they were starting Billingsley off a layoff, the kid Ely and Padilla.
Supposedly, they get Ramirez Martin and Loney back tonight. Once again, first game is KEY.
If Panda shits himself, Stix, there might be bigger problems . . .
But, yes, for this team to be successful, they’ve got to take care of business at home, and against their division rivals.
It starts tonight. The Dogs were ‘demoralized’ the last time they came here, and promptly swept the G’s. The dogs took a lot of pitches, they stole bases at will, and did the little things that kept the pressure on G’s, and they were off balance and out of sync the whole series.
Chuck: What i was envisioning was all those little Panda turds littering the basepaths of the Latrine.
LA is in a funk and somewhat injured, but it certainly is not a sure thing to take the series. If anything, a decent team on a losing skid is bound to win one just by the law of averages. These guys still have a lot of scoring firepower, and I certainly wouldn’t want to be down 1 or 2 going into the 9th against Broxton, regardless that he just blew one in St. Louis. With that logic, LA should be eager to face Wilson down 1 or 2 in the 9th after he coughed up the blown save yesterday. Gmen will do well to take 2 of 3. What they really have to do is take 3 of 4, at least, from the Dbacks. If they don’t, that will be a lost series….
Another thing, Chuck: LaBumbos were stealing on Grand Tetons. If Bumgarner keeps Furball off the basepaths there is nobody else in that lineup likely to even want to test that rifle of Buster’s. Other side of the SB ticket might occur if Torres gets on.
Snarkk: I’m looking at the G-men taking five and maybe even six of the upcoming 7 on the road. Solidification of the rotation and uptick at the plate, together with battered Bums and squished Snakes makes that a reasonable assumption. And yes, tonight’s game will set the tone. Get to McDonald early and Bumgarner cruises.
Snarkk: BTW: That was not a save situation for Wilson yesterday, so it was hardly blown. Also he was victimized by more than one bad call by Cuzzi Nit.
It wasn’t just Bengie causing those stolen bases, Stix.
Tim was struggling w/ holding runners, and Sanchez the same.
Rocco Baldelli just signed by the Rays and optioned. Still no transactions from the Giants. Dennis must be en route to Lids as we speak…
I saw the pitches, the sliders he threw to Davis easily could have been called balls, they weren’t slam dunk strikes by any stretch, he was nibbling, and Davis didn’t bite. He could have thrown another bad ball to make Davis reach (Francouer was on deck and was a clear strike out artist), but instead made a mistake with a belt high pitch. Cuzzi blew lots of other balls/strikes, but those weren’t the worst by any stretch. And you’re right it wasn’t a save for Wilson. He blew a “hold”. The fact is, he blew it. Rare, and shit happens, but he blew it…
Still no roster move to detract an arm? I wear a size 7 1/8 cap. Hope they have the Dodger’s available.
I much prefer fitted caps to the adjustable ones. But if there’s still 13 pitchers on Brian Sabean’s 25-man roster tonight, adjustable it is…
DMD, if there are 13 pitchers still tonite, Bonehead should wear an LA cap along with you, because he’s putting the Gmen at a decided disadvantage of flexibility in a close game…
Create your own luck and you minimize the amount of ‘must win’ games which can be blown by an official. Simple logic. The Giants are way too passive too much of the time so games like yesterday and the officiating have more relevance than it should really have. Those games will happen to all teams over the course of a season, but the matter of the fact is the Giants put themselves in that position to NEED a correct call to win with their game/roster management instead of forcing the issue on the Mets.
If they make better decisions, and play more consistently, then they’re probably in first or damn near it instead of playing behind the 8 ball trying to claw their way up from 4th place coming out of the break. Can’t win against your division? You don’t deserve a playoff spot, bottom line. At this point, they have done nothing to earn their spot so they need to pull their heads out beginning tonight, and it would help ‘just a tad’ if they actually bring up another bat. If not, well, falls right into the sterotypical ‘being too passive and waiting too long’ we’ve experienced way too much since Bochy took the helm.
I see it differently than almost every one of you – agree to disagree, but that doesn’t make my opinions wrong.
“But, yes, for this team to be successful, they’ve got to take care of business at home, and against their division rivals. It starts tonight.”
Chuck – actually, the Giants ARE taking care of business at home. Where they really need to improve is on the road. And, as of late, they have (now 22-24). They are moving in the right direction, but must continue to do so.
It does start tonight. As Stix stated earlier, they need a quick start against the kid McDonald (making his 2010 debut). They absolutely must take 2 from the Bums, and 3 from the Snakes for this seven game roadie to be considered successful. They do this, and they take two key series, and go over .500 on the road.
Yeah it’s totally asinine for the Giants to carry 13 pitchers. It definitely helped them lose the game yesterday. It’s not just that they couldn’t PH for Whitey, under normal circumstances they would have Pinch run for Ishi(who with Bengielenia gone could possibly challenge for the crown as the slowest guy on thee team) Nate almost certainly would have scored on Torres’s double,or at worse turned the play at the plate into more of a no doubter.
And beyond that consider that had Whitey got a hit,and the inning ended in a tie, they would have been in a situation in where the pitcher would have to hit the rest of the game, not in the 15th or 16th inning when you normally hit that that kinda thing, but in the 11th.Without anybody getting hurt, especially considering that we have an older roster where guys frequently have day to day issues Uribe recently, were really operating close to the margin here, probably below.
I’m all for calling out Bochy when warranted, but I’m pretty sure Sabean has the final say on roster moves. I’m sure he gets Bochy’s input, at least I hope he does, but this 13 pitchers shit falls on the head guy. This is Brian Sabean’s fault. He’ll be the one getting the bill for my new Dodger’s cap.
Exactly right Dennis…
But you are hopefully getting that Bastardo cap in order to torch it!!!
Dennis – I remember back before the break, and Sabean said that post-break, they would go back to a 12 man rotation. I think the make-up of the 25 man is principally Bochy’s, with input from Sabean. So, I think the whole 13 man staff is predominantly on Bochy.
Someone ought to post a question to Baggarly or Schulman for insight.
Regardless, it is assanine at this point to be carrying 13.
PGFuck says they are a light hitting, ill managed, unprepared team that will go 75-87? 80-82? No: 88-74…
THAT is why you are the Flap Idiot, not the “martyr”… fact is, you just set a W/L bar high to ensure you’d have plenty to bitch about no matter how well they were doing. And you are not in “Room B”, you are in “Room Fuckwad”…
Managers who find themselves on the “hot seat” are the guys whose teams have underachieved. Where are the experts who said this team was a 90+ win dynamo? Where are the experts who preseason said the Giants would be better than what they are? Fact is, the only surprise in the division is NOT the Giants or the Bums but the Pads. Throw them out and the scrum is how most thought- throw a blanket over the Dodgers, Rocks, Giants: and it might still get down to that…
Sometimes it’s OK to say “I don’t know”. We DON’T know all the whys and wherefores of the 13 man staff. Is a trade imminent? Are there 40-man issues? Certainly Wellemeyer’s rehab start today impacts what happens. And Pablo pulling up lame could hardy have been foreseen. Spleens wear out from all that ventin’, fellas. Take it easy.
We have two series to hopefully push the Dodgers further out in the race…Padres hopefully start their road trip losing a couple of games in Atlanta and maybe a couple in Pittsburgh.
Let’s see if we can get to 2 games out by next Monday..
I would love to see Dago start to lose, but most important for the Giants right now is to win series, whether on the road or at home, and especially against division foes. A winning 3 game series translates to .667 clip. A winning four gamer is .750. The Giants play at that clip for most of the season (remainder), and they’ll be fine.
If you guys haven’t seen it already, ESPN the Magazine has a fairly comprehensive article on the McCourt divorce. Pretty sad how two people can ignore what is best for themselves collectively and would prefer to be mutually ruined than give an inch in a settlement. By the end of the article, I actually almost felt bad for the two of them. August 30 is the date their divorce trial is set to begin so expect a long, cold winter for the Dodgers. Torre will be gone and they won’t have a penny to spend on the team. Lots of sordid details will be made public. It’s not the ideal way to get a leg up on your opponent but I’m sure the Dodgers weren’t feeling sympathy for the Giants over Cuzzi’s blown call yesterday, either.
Here’s the article:
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5374371
Easily my favorite quote from the article:
“It was Frank’s plan all along to run a team with a payroll of about $80 million,” says a former high-ranking club official speaking on condition of anonymity. “His thinking since he bought the team was: ‘This isn’t the AL East. Why would I spend $150 million to win 98 games when I can spend half that to win 90, if that’s all it takes to make the playoffs in our division?’ ”
This is exactly what Giants doomers like to accuse Giants ownership of doing. Funny to see it verbalized by a former McCourt associate.
Thank you for your color commentary Twinny, rosey and misguided as usual. 88-74 with this pitching staff is completely doable with a monkey in charge, which is how I based my pre-season projection.
Timmy – 18 W
Cain – 16 W
Zito – 13 W
Sanchez – 13 W
5th Starter – 10 W
That leaves about 10 W from the BP so no rocket science there and no great leap of faith to base that projection even if Bochy deep throating Sabean.
You place this staff with most other lineups and you have a 100 win team. Since our lineup has issues with situational hitting, consistency, and injuries, it’s up to the manager to overcome that, which I have seen no compelling evidence he knows what the fuck he is doing half the time, including carrying 13 fucking pitchers on a roster with a starting staff that regularly throws quality starts.
According to Henry, no hints at a roster move:
hankschulman
No hint of roster move yesterday. RT @DelMarDennis: please tell me there will only be 12 pitchers come tonight.
I still say Fuck the Dodgers!!!
You’re a fucking idiot, Gringo. You think you can just stick up 5 numbers and it’s gospel, moron? And you you don’t HAVE that staff if they trade for bats, fuckbrain. Really, just get your ass in your room and wait.
“You place this staff with most other lineups and you have a 100 win team. ” That statement alone belies everything else you’ve ever posted, shithead…
Bengie named A.L player of the week. Way to go Big Titty!
Current odds to win the West:
SD 4/5
SF 2-1
COL 11/4
LA 9/2
AZ Making run to Taco Bell
I’m going to explain a little about being a fan, for GringoFuck. When Ishikawa was wrongly called out, depriving the Giants of a thrillng rally to complete a sweep of a good team, a fan’s first reaction ( and I speak of EVERY fan, not some or most) is “HOLY FUCK! WE WUZ ROBBED!!!!” Not: “Well, gee, gosh, if Bochy had…” NO, moronofuck: EVERY fan first expresses outrage at a blown call. If there are one million Giants’ fans watching the game, every last one first expresses that outrage. Later some may debate managerial decisions and the like but only a trollfuckershitbrain like Gringo reacts as the PGFuck did. You are no fan, you are troll scum. Now get over to the SloughHouse. Your fate awaits you there…

I stand corrected by TF – with this pitching staff we do not have the basis to be a 100 win team.
And I leave the ‘sticking of numbers’ up to you since your eloquence in that department is unmatched. I’m sure you can find a statistic that shows how the speed of Bochy coming out of the dugout to replace a pitcher is relative to the average speed of the first pitch of the next pitcher that comes in. I’m sure there is rule in there someplace you’ll find as well. You’re like the whiny nerdy guy in class that always needs to show everyone he is right.
Here’s a number we can both agree on: 1954 – the last time the Giants won a WS.
Stuff the numbers, I just want to see a fucking championship in SF.
*That leaves about 10 W from the BP so no rocket science there*
According to my math, that would leave 18 for the bully.
I stand corrected. 18 it is. Even 1 BP win every 9 games seems reasonable.
I guess ‘us folk in Sloughouse’ need to learn how to be a fan. What are you, the Gustapo? Seriously….do you have a life outside of trying to control Giants blogs? You call me a troll yet you’re the one jotting down IP addresses, finding out where people are located, monitoring double aliases, etc, etc. You’re fucking creepy sometimes.
Get over yourself, really, it’s just a blog where you share personal opinions about the team we all root for.
Root, root, root for the home team. When deys robbed it’s a shame.
so many losses in a row followed by our current streak, JIT
I say we are a 600 team going forward and if Panda stays hot
yabba dabba doo!
my personal opinions?
Braves lose 9 or 10 in a row and then go on a tear to lead the NL East
Phillies, a pretty good team, looking very average just now.
SD the surprise out of the west and TB going toe to toe with the evil empire.
equals a great baseball season so far
even greater to be a Giants fan, but that outfield is tore up!
Interesting that Gringofuck picked 88 with no weasel clauses about managerial incompetence and such, they’re on pace for exactly 88: yet they are, yep: a huge disappointment. Look, we get it: you are a highly gifted amaeur kvetcher. You bitch to live, live to bitch. Now fucking do it somewhere else…
I almost bought that joint several years ago, but it had a rep that looked tough to overcome. Wow, you live there?
Hah – no, don’t live there, but I hear Dallas Braden visits it frequently. You wouldn’t last a minute there, they’d eat your spreadsheets for lunch.
It looks like MLB is going to call Phil Cuzzi to the carpet. He could face a fine and if there’s any justice in the world a suspension. Not only for his awful behaviour act and poor performance yesterday, but due for past poor umpire sins, most notably the foul call that should have been a double off the bat of Joe Mauer in the Twins-Yankees ALDS last season.Yeah maybe it’s too much to ask.And yes umps make mistakes. But the confrontation of ballplayers we’ve seen from umpires this season is inexcusable, and MLB needs to nip it in the bud in a hurry. Assholes like Cuzzi,Joe West,Angel Hernandez,CB Bucknor have no place in the game anymore.
kat…Selig trying to deflect the heat is what you seeing…another sacrificial lamb ala Ollie North…(couldn’t remember the name of the guy that Selig forced out a couple of years ago to save his ass behind PEDs)
Ollie North and Phil Cuzzi? Another way to know you’re dealing with a guy who takes this waaaay too seriously…
“Hah – no, don’t live there” Too late… sleep well, GringoFuck.
It’ll be a deliverance – one step out of your pussy elitist prius into the mighty Sloughouse outback and you’ll be made to squeal like a pig.
Stix – thanks for the link on the ESPN/McCourt article. Interesting stuff. What a clusterfuck, and the fact that it is all tied to the Bums…well, it is a beautiful thing.
Chi, you’re welcome. FYI, stixwiz and I are two different folks…
Damn TF…still wearing your vest?…
Don’t annoy me today, Sandy.
Ater the game, Cuzzi said that he had not yet seen the replay. “I’ll look at it, but I figured I’d eat first,” he said, laughing. “He made a decent attempt to put the tag on him. That’s what it looked to me, and that’s why I called him out.”
An attempt? R U Kidding me? If you attempt to apply the tag is good enough now, not doing, just attempting…
Or that the player beats the tag (as Ishi did)…give me a break. They should rake Cuzzi over the coals, and feed him to the wolves. What an idiot.
Pepto TF or soda water TF…takes the edge right offa everything for me…what was that you said about the stress of venting earlier?…ruins the spleen?
I agree that following the break, there has been no need to carry 13 pitchers, but I can’t get on Bochy or Sabean for that being the reason why we lost yesterday. The replays, still photos and even the opposing catcher support the fact the Giants WON the game…even with 13 pitchers.
Going forward though, the starters are looking excellent and the pen is plenty rested, a move should be made sooner rather than later.
My constitution is fine, my tolerance for fools at an all-time low. As I said, don’t annoy me today, Sandy.
Yikes, that’s how he bases his calls? He attempted to tag him?
Shit, Ishi tried to score. Fucking can his ass. . . .
And Uribe tries to hit a home run in every plate appearance. Might as well give him 600 bombs for the year.
Tell you what Michael…I’ll be back at game time…until then enjoy yourself…
Fool?…you obviously have me confused with some of your relatives and/or friends…
Go away…no need for fuckwad trolls on this site. The Splash has plenty of room for your type.
What Cuzzi is saying is just putting into awkward and unfortunate words an old unspoken rule: the throw beat him so he’s out. Usually that’s only applied when there’s a good throw that beats the runner. He really wanted to make an out call so he did. The only way he calls Travis safe is if the ball is dropped…
