Pat Burrell and Dirrrrty’s Mouth…..
Burrell is the first ever 3 straight game POTG. Again, thank you Tampa Bay…….
Tonight’s game is everything. As I posted a few days ago, I LOVED Dirrrty’s bold prediction, especially after that tough Atlanta series. Now he gets to go out and set the tone. If we dominate the Pads tonight, his prediction will be in full swing to the wire at the quarter pole. If he gets knocked around and if the overrated Richard cobbles together a goodie, Dirrrrrty looks like a chump and, more importantly, we prove we are the same team that this toothless bully has been beating up all year long. All or nothing. I love it……
BREAKING NEWS: According to ESPN via KNBR, we’re very close to acquiring J. Guillen. Good chance he’s in uniform for tonight’s game.
Jose is a goddamn band wagoner. He knows damn well we’re wearing our orange uniforms tonight.
Oh well, at least he knows a winner when he sees one. Padres need not even show up tonight. It’s over.
LETS GO SANCHEZ. dun, dun, dun, dun, dun……LETS GO SANCHEZ…
It’s Twue! It’s Twue!
http://tinyurl.com/z76yc
Yeah Sanchez is due. When he’s good, he’s very, very good. When he’s bad he’s very, very, bad. Probably like a lot of you when you were boys.
Guillen on the bench? What’re they gonna do, dfa Whitehair and let Pablo be the back up catcher? Dfuckiing a Schierholz?
Well, that’s a distraction, the rest of the team’s ready for this weekend. I remember a series in mid 2003, vs. Az, that seemed as exciting as this (for a series not in Sept/Oct). That was the one finishing with the BBonds birthday game. Giants started out tied for first and were 4 up at the end of that series, having squashed the underdogs. This is different. The Giants are coming from behind this year. Time to prove they’re for real.
I think Jose plays most every day, counselor. Burrell-Torres-Guillen, left to right. Huff back to 1B. Rowand gets paid $13,600,000 to be an every day cheerleader. Like I’m apt to say, “it’s only money.”
So who leaves to make room for Guillen? And I’ll bet you a four-pack of Dogfish Head IPA Rowand plays in CF 50% of the time between now and the playoffs, if he’s healthy.
Man, I hope the Giants gave Dirty’s dad a first class ticket and flew him out here. Gave him a suite at the Hyatt, gave him an orange jersey, put him on the payroll, anything so he plunks his ass down next to Larry Baer for this game.
Sam for Chris Lincecum.
Jose Guillen is now a Giant. Not exactly sure how I feel about this one. We’ll have to wait and see how he meshes with the others.
Ken Rosenthal from Fox Sports reports it’s a done deal. Still awaiting the details.
I’m guessing Nate + plus some schmo class A pitcher who’ll never amount to a hill of beans.
Power off the bench can’t hurt. Who wouldn’t rather see him up than Vern Jr? Overblown reaction from the knuckleheads at the splash. Clubhouse good guy, bad guy thing is sooooooo not a concern with Huff and Burrell around.
I think that our clubhouse is strong enough to absorb the guy, even if he has been called a Royal pain in the ass.
All or nothing? Sounds too much like my autobiography with some drool-riddled, seaweed-infested, empty-bottle results.
All or nothing? Sounds too much like my autobiography with some drool-riddled, seaweed-infested, empty-bottle results.
Classic Pawlie 🙂
Ain’t sure about Guillen. We’ll see. We’ll see. Maybe we need some bad-boy attitude. Results will be what count. He didn’t do much for my fantasy team — from the bench.
Huff played with the guy in Tampa so maybe that will help. As primarily a DH, he should be OK in a pinch hit role and the occasional start in right. I think this adds more to the bench than the starting nine.
Kruk on KNBR this morning hinted that Whiteback would catch tonight. Posey may sit or play 1st.
I heard that and it totally pissed me off. I sure hope Kruk was just talking out his ass, but it sounded like he was just “suggesting” it because either he didn’t agree with it, or he at least knew the listeners wouldn’t like it. This is the most important series thus far this season. We need our best LU in there tonight. Nothing against Whitey, but he’s no Posey.
This SURE ain’t the same team which got bamboozled by that Hoosier Clayton Richard earlier in the season. Posey, Burrell and now Guillen add a lot of pop to a roster which was offensively challenged early on. Richard too, has gone through some changes. His ERA has jumped up nearly a full point since mid-June when it was in the 2.90’s to current status in the 3.80’s.
Drrrrtty’s got a lot of splainin to do, hopefully all on the mound. Dude is in the habit of giving up walks, but is hard as hell to hit. He brings his “A” game and the team is in fine shape. Noticed where Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports ranked SF ELEVENTH, while ranking Baaahston in the 3 spot, even though the two teams have identical 66-50 records. Typical East Coast bias.
That Cubbies series reminded me of bass fishing. Loaded with drama. They put up a helluva fight, just kept on keeping on. No let up. Ultimately they were reeled in three times outta four. Be nice if the current drama is mostly in the anticipation and the team makes Sanchez into its prophet.
With a lefty going, maybe they will give Huff a rest as well.
At least Sanchez knows how to pitch the Pads. He had the no-no last year and, even though he’s 0-2 in three games against them this season (no runs support), he has a 2.57 ERA and .157 BAA. Go get ’em Dirty!
I like Sabean’s moves. He’s doing exactly what a GM should do. Go for it, now! This time of year you go for experience period. You go for production. You go for some pop. Clubhouse stuff is a luxury that cannot be tolerated.
Bochy starts Whitey tonight and I’ll have a goddamn conniption fit. Don’t do it, skipper. I’m fucking serious.
Don’t start getting your panties in a bunch yet Dennis. Kruk didn’t seem all that convinced about what he was saying and it’s like 7 hours or so until we’ll see a lineup. Don’t want you freaking out all day on, on a Friday no less.
Too late. Where’s my meds?
I’ll say one thing about Sanchez. At least he didn’t call SD whiny little bitches, like Brandon Phillips did to St Louis. That pretty much blew up in Cincy’s collective face.
Granted, he’s right, but to then get spanked 2x by the bitches looks pretty bad.
The very thought of Whitey starting behind the dish in the BIGGEST game of the year is already giving me angina. I swear to Christ Bochy better not write his sorry ass into tonight’s lineup card. Think I got upset over carrying 13 pitchers? Ha! That’ll be chicken feed compared to this. NO WHITEY.
Ah Dennis. When I heard Krukow this morning , I was indeed pissed, but after reading your posts, I remembered that you worry enough for all of us. Thanks for taking the stress out of my morning.
Huff’s numbers vs Richard (12 ABs) .417 .462 .500 .962
No fucking way he sits. NO WHITEY.
Hate to add anxiety to your already ulcer-inducing morning, but Kruk sounded like Posey would sit, not just play 1st, so Huff would still be in there.
Amped to be at tonights game!! i am bringing my glove (and my helmet in case i have forgotten how to use the former).
Personally, i don’t expect Guillen to start a whole lot against RHPs. Last two seasons his OBP has been stalled out at .314, a level we had become accustomed to about three years ago for Giants hitters. His walk to strikeout ratio is the big culprit there at close to a one to four variance. Basically, he has played with non-competitive teams, including the Rays when they were not so hot.
So i would expect him to face lefties in the odd starting role, but primarily be there for pop off the bench. If Guillen is in the outfield at the same time as Burrell, the Water Buffalo analogy might be just a tad lame. If Torres has been getting tight legs hoofing it between Pat and Huff, the team’s trainer will have to stock up on a lot of linament and the whirlpool will get such a workout if he’s sprinting between Pat and Jose.
The boobs over on the Splash are totally poo-pooing the Guillen trade. Not even giving it a chance, already calling it “another Sabean mistake.” Doomers the whole lot of ’em. I may worry, and as I think TF calls me be an “alarmist,” but I ain’t no goddamn Doomer. Fuck them!
That said, for the sake of all things holy, NO GODDAMN WHITEY.
Yeah let Dennis worry sick about all this. Just take this ride for what it’s worth. What’s the alternative?
Yer gonna blow a gasket there, Dennis.
Just think about Alex Smith and how he’ll do vs Indy. Or Jimmy-hat Rye’s stellar play-calling abilities. That’ll calm your nerves.
.
.
.
On 2nd thought, is there room on the ledge?
How’s this for the first play in Indy. 44 A plunge on two. M Rob up the gut behind Norris for no gain.
Blown gasket indeed.
AAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh…………….
splat!!!
Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think Guillen is gonna be coming off the bench too often. His acquisition means the rotating 3rd OFer is over. No more, Nate (expect to go in trade), and no more Gamer. Superman-Yungo-Jose left to right. Huffster back to first, and Ish back to his pinch hitting marvels.
Torres-CF
Panda-3B
Huffster-1B
Buster-C
Superman-LF
Juan-SS
Guillen-RF
Runt/New Runt-2B
P
That’s my best guess.
From Royals Report: Jose Guillen to Giants with cash for player to be named later.
Whose roster spot does he take? Burriss has options, but that would leave the New Runt as the only b/u infielder. Shitholtz gets shit-canned? Shitholtz or Burriss? I say they keep Shitholtz and pray like hell no injuries to any of the infielders till Rent returns in two weeks (hopefully).
As shitty as Nate’s played, I’m guessing they keep him and hope that Uribe, Franchez and Fontenot can hold down the middle infield until the rosters expand and Burris/Rent will be back.
Guillen will not break into the starting LU,except maybe on the road against a tough LHP.He will be a bench player,a power hitting RHB.And i doubt he will be a pain in the ass in the clubhouse, not with Uribe,Renteria,Pablo around. He will probably cost a little over the pro-rated min,so if he causes shit he will be gone.He will also give the Giants a chance to rest Huff and Torres every so often. As long as we don’t give up a prospect,I’m ok with it.
Hey Del, did you have Matt’s A Giant in the 1st at the Spa? $ 29.40
I’m watching the PGA Championship today. No horses for me today. Friday’s never been a good day for me anyway. Well, neither have the other six, but Friday in particular.
Go Lefty!
I don’t know if they have those “Friday Nights” back east, but they’re prevalent over here on the left coast. Nothing but young kids out on their first date who know absolutely fucking nothing about racing. It’s dollar beer night so not only are they stoopid, but they’re drunk and stoopid. Why go out and bother with drunk and stoopid when I can get that at home for free.
Glorious day at the yard. Seems like a month since the sun has been out in SF.
Guillen addition is encouraging. Great timing, seized the moment, Brian got past his pride (code = contract subsidy, offseason gaffes, vacant farm system, etc.). Playoff drought is truly in jeopardy. Only the Reds, Nats, and Pirates have been worse. “Up with hope! Down with dope!”
Thank you Reverand Jackson.
Let’s just hope with Guillien, 10 team’s the charm
Where’s Twin? I always like to read his two cents worth.
Why does that come off reading as disingenuous?
Nip, you’ve been awefully busy over on the splash. First time I’ve looked at it in months and I just confirmed why I haven’t.
Tim Kawakami is confirming that Bochy said Guillen will be the every day OFer and Huff the every day first sacker.
Sorry, but I can’t resist. Just as I predicted!
So, you know what that means if Whitey’s catching….
Lumpy’s pitching?
It just dawned on me, it’s Friday the 13th. Orange Friday AND Friday the 13th? Orange and black; Halloween; trick-or-treat for the Padres. This game is gonna be a complete and utter Mike Krukow laugher. 8-1 Giants!
I wish I was going to the game tonight with a Jason hoockey mask with the SF logo on it.
i will wear one for you 3bag, right after i remove my toenail with tweezers in honor of our newest acquisition.
I would have been even more impressed if he used his teeth, but at 34, probably has trouble reaching his toes. I know I do.
They aren’t going to sit Buster against the LHer. He’ll be in there unless he’s hurt. This has now become Guillen for Ishikawa. Until Pat got hot, they may have in effect platooned Burrell and Travis. I’m not sure how I feel about this one yet.
It’s also Guillen for Rowand and Nate as well. Their playing time will now be next to zilch.
If Bochy’s saying Guillen will be a regular in the OF i’ll betcha he’s saying that with one hand behind his back with fingers crossed. Such a statement would be basically grounded on hope. The hope being that in such august company as Torres, Huff, Burrell, Posey, Uribe and Sandoval, Guillen will catch the fever, sensing he’s on a winner, and promptly start to contribute. Seven heavy bats in the lineup is evidently the bet that Sabean is making here. Chances are the PTBNL is/are not particularly critical to the team’s future.
Presence of Guillen also could mean that the Franchez, Fontenot off-pairing would likely remain in the two-hole, placing Jose with his .314 OBP in the 8-hole. That’s called the stinger in the tail. Scorpion. This does not portend to be the kinda lineup conducive to the possibility of pitchers getting much relaxation. The apparent return of the Panda with yesterday’s triple and tater indicates that 7 of the 9 spots in the LU can go deep at most any given time. These factors could spell trouble for pitchers like Richard and LeBlanc on the Dagos as well as most hurlers in the mediocre/ good to pretty decent category. Dominant starters like Latos, Wainwright and Halliday will need to work harder and may get their pitch counts run up a bit with consequent earlier departures.
With the additions of Fontenot and Guillen just this week it is evident that Sabean is gunning for bear with a heavy postseason presence clear in his sights.
No way Jose bats 8th, Stix. Not with his power. Slump or not, he’s gotta bat sixth behind The Bat. Maybe 7th. I had him originally 7th. But after some consideration, I think 6th might work as well.
Interesting that Guillen has 15 of his 16 hrs against RHP.
From Henry: Giants will pay Guillen $250,000 for the rest of the season. Royals will get a low- to mid-level prospect.
Two fitty? That’s chump change. Low-to-mid-level prospect? Good luck with that shit.
I’m liking this move more by the minute. Stick his ass in RF and see if the switch from shitty KC to playoff bound SF wakes his ass up.
As usual, “why not, it can’t fucking hurt.”
I’m confused. What happened to the rest of the money KC owed him? He had a pretty healthy contract
I guess KC will pay the lump sum, and we pay the $250,000.
If he is much more than a PH, I’ll be surprised…
Guillen in, huff to first, ishikawa to the bench. I can dig this. In elko. Nevada, it’s hot as shit. Looking forward to a few Sierra Nevadas and the game tonight at the eldorado..
Wswin, this dude is a starter, ishikawa has been benched. Book it
Bochy and I have already declared Jose as the every day starter in RF hours ago.
Don’t worry, we’re on top of things. 🙂
I like ishikawa better off bench anyway. This move upgrades our offense and out bench. Great move but I havent seen who we gave up????? Gotta hut the road, I’ll check in with u dudes around gametime
http://mlb.fanhouse.com/2010/08/13/giants-acquire-jose-guillen/?synd=1
I need to let this one sink in. At first glance, I’m not sold on playing a clubhouse cancer who hasn’t had a hit since July 30 and hasn’t had a multi-hit game since July 19 in place of a relatively hot Ishikawa. I guess my feelings about this move come in two parts:
1. I don’t have a problem with Sabean taking a chance on this guy. The clubhouse seems strong enough to withstand two months of Guillen. If he provided another spark like Posey and Burrell have provided, it could be pretty cool.
2. I really wish Bochy wouldn’t announce that Guillen is the everyday RF so quickly.
Ishikawa must have turned on his computer this morning and said “SHIT”.
Rowand and Nate were already sitting. The deal, playing time wise, is Guillen for Ishikawa. So they have once again, made a Garko trade: but WORSE.
Guillen: .255 BA Ishi .295
Guillen .314 OBP Ishi .343
Guliien .429 Slugging Ishi .442
Guillen: .743 OPS Ishi .785
The only thing that can save this is if Bochy is quick on the trigger with Burrell and Guillen. As hot as Burrell is, he is totally capable of an 0 for a month. It’s encumbent on Bochy to be ready to sit ANYBODY.
Look, Guillen COULD get red hot, playing for a contender and a contract, I’d be delighted to be wrong. But I’m not enthused. I’ll be a front runner on this one. If it works, I was all for it 😉
Count me as enthused. Would ya know Jose’s pulling numbers by chance. If he hits the majority of his HRs to left, all the better.
Clubhouse cancer? Who gives a shit abut that. His OPS for the last 3 years: 738, 681, 743. He’s another Aaron Rowand.
I give a shit about it. If you take a guy who sucks and pour in a serving of asshole, that’s a much more volatile mixture than just suckitude alone.
Yeah, I hope Burrell clocks Guillen the first time he calls Pablo El Oso Gordo. Or Kung Pao Pollo.
Who knows how these clubhouse trouble makers will react after they’ve been dumped by a team? Maybe Guillen will figure he has something to prove on the field and that will be it, until he does.
Side note, I’m guessing the OldSealClubber thinks they just picked up the White Sox manager to play RF………………………………………………………….
And he likes the move.
It’s too bad Huff can’t play 2B.
Baggarly has this covered pretty well. As I feared, Baggarly thinks Burriss is the one who’s packing his travelling trunk to make room for Guillen. I wanted Whiteside to go. That’s not happening, of course. Schier? Next on my list. I didn’t even want to mention Burriss.
And Baggarly reasonably enough sees Guillen going through same drill Burrell went through — hit off the bench and get some match-up starts and see how he hits and se how it goes.
Aside from the obvious guys like Bradley, and A.J. when he gave the trainer a knee to the balls,it’s pretty unclear on what a “clubhouse cancer” really is. It might just be a guy who reads books not by Grisham. Maybe he cheats at dominoes. Looking at Burrell, who by all accounts DEFINITELY was a CC, it might be a dude who doesn’t like his “do” messed with. But I’m with James, his pedestrian production is the concern. He is/was an upgrade on Nate, but no one else really.
Quotes like this don’t make me think he’s in the same team-first category as Rowand:
“Fundamentally, this is one of the worst teams in all of baseball,” said Guillen, who added that he felt like a “babysitter” with some of the Royals’ young players. Guillen referred to his teammates as “babies” in a separate interview in May.
That’s the kind of shit you say behind closed doors.
Maybe it’s a translation problem. Maybe he was thinking “jovenes” when he said “babies.”
I don’t mean to imply that he WILL BE a clubhouse cancer with SF. I mean to imply that he’s got the POTENTIAL to be one.
But fair enough, I wouldn’t put him in Bradley’s class, either.
Man, I’m a little surprised at all the negativity surrounded by the Guillen trade. Look, I’m by no means a Sabean supporter, but at least he’s fucking trying. No loss of any major players, especially starters. He’s picked up two guys for the pen who have done just fine and dandy. Got us another little runt when Rent went down. Now he’s taking a chance on a guy who may or may not do a goddamn thing. Or he might be Pat the Pat Part II.
Sabean is going for it. I like it. We’d all be bitchin’ and moanin’ if he did nothing. We’re close this year guys, very close. We got the Padres coming into town and they’re gonna receive a goddamn beating beyond any red-headed stepchild or rented mule. Dirty said sweep, and that’s good enough for me. Thumbs up for Sabean; thumbs up the asses of the Padres.
Ballgame!
Regardless of what the intentions are for him, my point still stands. If he is anything more than PH, I’d be surprised…
If ya believe Jeff Fletcher, Bochy said he’s gonna play RF on a regular basis. Travis PH, Rowand and Nate play dominoes.
http://tinyurl.com/2bpg3xy
That paraphrase of an alleged statement from Bochy is inconclusive. Could mean Huff’ll move to 1B WHEN Guillen plays RF. Shitty writing from Fletcher. Baggarly, or whoever’s filling in for him if it’s not him, is more cogent.
Well, they were going to play Garkkles everyday. To Bochy’s credit, that lasted about a week.
Pat the Bat had one bad year, and has a lifetime OPS over 800. Guillen has had 3 below avg. years in a row, and he’s 34. I think you are more likely to get a hot streak from Rowand to raise his numbers to a barely acceptable 730 OPS than you are to see Guillen raise his numbers into the 770 range.
I say he gets two weeks. If he continues to stink up the joint, back to the bench to PH. Two weeks.
As I said, they’ve put it on Bochy. They have four guys to juggle to get the most from: Pat, Rowand, Gullen, Ishikawa. This will now begin most likely with a set LU of Torres, Sanchez, Huff, Posey, Burrell, Sandoval, Uribe, Guillen. If they win with that LU, yer lookin’ at it. How quickly Bochy makes changes if guys slump will be key.
We’ve now seen the dismantling of Sabean’s grand plan – and kudos to ownership for pushing it through. Most of these quotes are real and from Brian or Bruce:
Dec. 2007: “With [Rowand], we will no longer listen to any offers for Cain and Lincecum.”
March 2009: We upgraded our hitting.
May 2009: Baggarly reports Sabean dangles Cain to gauge his value.
July 2009: Garko gives us a middle of the order guy.
July 2009: Freddy gives us a table setter.
Jan. 2010: “[Sabean] got Huff for $3 million after another 1B target, Adam LaRoche, turned down a two-year, $17.5 million offer.”
March 2010: “We have plenty of hitting to get this done.”
April 2010: Buster and Bum aren’t ready – Bengie and Todd are our guys
May 2010: “[Burrell] helps us off the bench … help us late in games and maybe play against certain pitchers”
June 2010: “We just need to get Rent and Freddy playing together”
June 2010: “We are not interested in free agents. We don’t want to rent players. That doesn’t make sense for us. We’ve got to find someone we can control, much like the Freddy Sanchez deal, and hope that presents itself.”
Aug. 2010: “[Fontenot’s] got really good numbers this year.”
Aug. 2010: Guillen will be the everyday RF … for 2 or 3 months.
Lineup is now comprised of six guys Sabean didn’t actually want to be his starters this year – seven if Freddy is benched. But, yeah, SF couldn’t function without him.
Per his MO, LaRoche now has an OPS of 828. He would have been a good signing. No way anyone anticipates that Huff has his best year ever.
“Lineup is now comprised of six guys Sabean didn’t actually want to be his starters this year”
That’s a rather disingenuous statement. Sabean assembles the team but he doesn’t determine who starts and who doesn’t. That’s Bochy’s job. I’m guessing Sabean doesn’t “want” any one guy to be the starter over another. He’d prefer that every player he brought on played like an All Star.
And if a guy like Huff wasn’t Sabean’s first choice, who cares? After Sabean signed Huff, he called him the team’s cleanup hitter and all of us laughed him to scorn. Turned out he was right but you want to make that a negative? I feel bad for you that you can’t just enjoy this moment in time for what it is. Instead, you recite a litany of Sabean quotes that you consider to be indicators that he’s an idiot.
“[H]e doesn’t determine who starts and who doesn’t. That’s Bochy’s job.” You’ve now been outed as Brian’s agent and/or mom.
Sure, if you’re going to pick and choose my quotes. If you read them all, you’d know that I try to have a balanced approach. You on the other hand….
I guess I should ask: You think Sabean establishes the starters?
But make no mistake, I still think Sabean is an old school doofus worthy of Buster Olney’s contempt.
I figure Sabean’s somewhere in the lower-middle of the pack. Evaluating, drafting and trading are such a massive crapshoot that there’s a huge measure of luck in any GM’s performance. Almost nobody would have guessed that Zito would be better than Timmy this year, for crying out loud, so all the stats in the world can’t help you sometimes.
Of course, we all could have spent the money on Renteria and Rowand better than he could have. Ultimately, all I ask is that he doesn’t fuck up a good thing. I don’t think Guillen does that. Sabean’s pretty aloof. Doofus? I don’t know that I’d go that far…
The crucial comments don’t look like quotes to me.
On the SD series itself, I think the biggest game is Sunday — Lincecum pitching. No matter how it plays out — potential sweep, potential series winner, or potential life saver, that game will be the biggest of the three. How’s Tim gonna do?
Anyone else wonder whether this “new” delivery of Tim’s is simply his attempt to hold runners on (somewhat) and get to the plate sooner? SD runs like crazy (check the mlb splits, hell, look back at the earlier games with the Giants this season). There’s extra pressure on Lincecum this weekend, from several directions. We all know he CAN rise to the occasion. But will he?
Timmy’s “two seamer” problem means he may not be as dominant from here on out. I think his BB total is up because the lack of velocity makes his change somewhat less effective.
Zito and Dirty deserve a lot of credit for maintaining the team’s ERA ranking this year, as Cain and Lincecum have fallen off.
Well, he has had trouble controlling the 2-seamer. Of course, keeping runners off base is the easiest way to solve the SB problem.
I guess I have to say it point blank about guillen. I agree with James. He stinks. O+D he stinks. So again, regardless of the plans for him, if he does more than PH, he’ll have earned it, but I wouldn’t count on it.
“Most of these quotes are real.” That’s a pretty funny line.
Right, and I suspect that if Timmy’s fastball is at 95, his “command” problems would disappear, too.
Jed is a sneaky little lying cocksucker but he’s still a lying cocksucker. He says they are all quotes but then leaves some of the quotation marks out to cover his dumb jailhouse lawyer butt. He’s not unlike Snarkk in that you know, real or imagined, at one time or another : they got in the ass from Sabean/Baer…
You’re right: some are your quotes.
You see the story on the Guillen deal on sfgate? Guillen twice significantly injured himself recently (1) putting on a batter’s shin guard, and, separately, (2) trying to fix an ingrown toe nail by ripping it out with a pair of pliers. Hell, he may turn out to be a real humorous addition to the clubhouse.
Or a serious nut case!
Just keep the sharp things away from him . . .
Oh, shit, he’s running with scissors again!!
Another factor in trade, I’m guessing, is that the Giants are concerned that all the outfield play wears out Huff. He does a good job out there, but fatigue could affect his hitting, and the Giants can’t have that happening. And it turns out, he’s been playing well at firstbase.
Nice point.
Well, Guillen won’t be playing tonight. This from Henry: Jose Guillen will not arrive in SF until late tonight. So he will not be available, obviously. Also, no roster move today.
Burriss lives to see another day…
To clarify: he did say “most”, but then even those in quoation marks have some editing. He’s a lying POS. His only agenda now is as it was last year after his predictions were laid to ruin: that even those who were right, were right for the wrong reasons.
He needs to shut the fuck up now. It’s over for his kind.
Sources below. Stop manufacturing excuses for your inbreds, Twinbred.
My sole agenda is for Giants’ fans to rid themselves of Sabean while finding a way to win. Tricky feat. I feel like we’ve been on track for two years: his moves are largely awful, and yet the team wins in spite his worst efforts.
The whole thing hovers way too close to crediting Chris Cohan with the Warriors’ brief “We Believe” run.
For those so inclined, the Giants will be streaming live their BP today at 4:30. I’ll try to post the link when it’s available.
I predict Whitey will hit two out in BP, causing Vern and Vera to go into cardiac arrest. Medic!
Vern and Vera. LQTM
By the way, dennis, you’ve been making an awful lot of “predictions” lately
“Never make predictions, especially about the future.”
–Casey Stengel
By golly, he’s right.
Tonight’s game is not on MLB Extra Innings and in NY tomorrow we get Balt-TB, like Yankee fans give a shit about that game. Maybe I’ll do it 60’s style and just wait for the box scores in next week’s Sporting News.
Some are needlessly negative and that shows where your mind is. Sure having doubts about a move is reasonable but the quotation posting is really loathsome.
