A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Thank you, Tampa Bay…….

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on September 25, 2010

Isn’t it amazing what one swing can do? If Pat swings through that pitch instead of blasting it into the bleachers, we would be sitting around bemoaning our crap offense trying to figure out how a first place team could get shut out seemingly every single game. And yet….One swing. Glory. Destiny…………

I never get tired of enjoying Tampa Bay paying for all of this…..

Ah, how cruel irony is. Zitman on the bump today. We win today and we basically knock Colorado out of the picture since they would be 5.5 back with 8 to play. How do you fight the inevitability of Zito’s Law? You get to bat against Jason Hammel. Β The Rockies are stuck today, having to throw “dead arm” Hammel out there. If we win today that gives us 4 wins on the trip and I don’t see how we don’t steamroll this division with Cain going tomorrow and 6 to finish the season at home…..

“fucking juiced ball bullshit”– read his lips near the end of the clip..

It was tied and he had just two non-starters left. Soome idiot will object but the call was fine. A game like this one is a mecca for second guessers.

Well, glad I missed the disappointment, but sad I missed maybe one of the games of the year. Having missed it, I just tell myself I figured Zito to lose in that park anyway. Bring on Cain … no reason not win the rest of them.

Oh, and use the day off to pitch Zito vs. Arizona, please Boch.

Marty Lurie just said on the post-game show that Chris Ray just threw himself off the post-season roster with tonight’s performance. Funny, I was under the impression that Ray pitched for us, and not for someone like the Twins who have already clinched for the post-season.

    Donkey punch.

Ray wasn’t going to be on it anyway. Wilson,Romo, Affeldt, Ramirez, Lopez, Casilla, plus 4 or 5 of the starters.

Even Baggarly says in his game story that Uribe looked like his feet were stuck in clay trying to get that liner from Tulo to end the game. The camera work wasn’t great there, but I thought the same thing, he barely moved towards the ball. SF definitely needs to upgrade SS defensively next year. I like Uribe, he can come back in an infield utility role, but the Giants desperately need a good fielding shortstop for next year. If he can hit .250, I’ll take it as long as he can pick it and throw it…

I missed the game, but saw the replay … so, the winning run scored from first on a single. Ugh

People, lately I have been less and less of whatever I used to be. Between the foot pain and my once again deteriorating typing and hand writing, ill temper, I’m just having a very difficult time again.. I’ll take a few days away, maybe. Perhaps Lisa will drive me somewhere and bury my feet in warm mud. You have no idea. I’ll put it this way: if the doctor said I’ll give you something to make it go away in a day or I can shoot you now, you’d take the bullet.. Contest is on, no one is out, no one will be out. See ya in awhile.

Wishing you nothing but the best, TF. For purely selfish reasons I’m hoping you’re right here burying your feet in the warm mud that is the Flap. It may not come across in each and every one of posts, but you’re wanted here. More importantly in fact, you’re needed here. So here’s “mud on your on your feet.” Be well–Dennis

Yeah, Twin, please do what ya gotta do… I really enjoyed the “old” Twin, and I’m sure you did too! Get well, dude, get well.

…if memory serves, that mud up in Geyserville works wonders!

Unfortunatey, nothing is helping now. I can’t even enjoy the games right now. As if it isn’t already enough, my PSA went ballistic, need to get a prostate biopsy. I doubt I’d do anything about it if it’s cancerous. Enough is enough.

I was hoping for a more uplifting post. I’m sorry you have to deal with all this physical shit during this time of year. You should be reveling in the excitment not having to be in pain. As usual, despite the many times you piss me off more than anyone else in my 3-d life, I will pray for an answer to your pain. And I’m not religious at all, it just feels like the right thing to do. I got your back twin, we all do. Until I tell you to go fuck yourself again! πŸ™‚

Hang in there Twin and keep Zeke close by. As a clown I may not know much, but I do know that pups are the best docs.
Woody and I send our best front porch howls to you and Zeke (it’s only 3,000 miles, surely you two heard it).

Zeke and Mickey are never far. Lisa couldn’t get up here today, I stayed in the porch bed for the day.

Bozo: i have news i wish i didn’t have to disclose. Katie broke your Aurilia bobblehead doll. She played with it without permission and broke it……Ok, part of that is true. She played with it. Then, about a month ago I was entering my office at 4am and kicked a bunch of shit over and…. anyways, Katie probably left it there πŸ™‚ . I glued it back together but he doesn’t have the same spunk he arrived with. Since then I have spent an unusual amount of time trying to win a free fantasy baseball league so that I don’t have to give the winner a half-broke Rich Aurilia Bobblehead doll. Today I realized that it is a kick ass perfect prize just the way it is. Thanks again for donating it, it’s something the winner will treasure forever…….

That is too funny Flav. I think you should put bandages on him.

It’s not quite like good city porch sitting but there’s enough foot traffic to keep it interesting. I have my scooter store pals, mostly vets, mostly paraplegics.. the kids, the dog walkers, and Art, the obligatory block drunk. His Mom lives across the street, he lives a few houses down. He’s been picked up just staggering between the two houses. If he’s ever sober, I’ve never seen it…

For a town of maybe 200 (I guess this is more a village or hamlet), we get a lot of folks going up and down THE street (really, just the one street). One car goes back and forth all day, fishermen with their crab traps, folks coming in for the boat launch at the point, people walking, riding bikes, the lady down the street with her horses, dogs running free. The best for me is the folks that just get around on their riding mowers (at Christmas they have a parade of riding mowers). It’s really Mayberry RFD stuff (actually Andy lives about 20 miles from here). Quite a change from living at 17th and Texas street in SF.
Woody has gotten to the point where he barks at the people going by but he just wags his tail if someone comes up the driveway. I’ve tried to explain to him to do the opposite but he doesn’t listen.
      Take care Twin.
