New Contest!

Hi–So it’s not going to be a contest for one of Twin’s kickass units. But one of our bloggers (Mailorderbride) wants to give her tickets away for the July 6th game v the Padres. The 2 seats are right behind homeplate in the view box section of the park. Even if you can’t go, enter the contest, you can give the tickets away if you win and can’t go.

Here’s the contest: How many runs will the Giants score in their 3 game series v the Tigers? First tie breaker is how many runs the Tigers will score. Second tie breaker is how many combined stolen bases the 2 teams have. So, submit 3 numbers to me at bigflavor77@gmail.com

I realize the game is starting in 3 hours so we might not have too many contestants but let’s see what we can get and have some fun. Thank you, in advance, Mailorderbride for this generous offer……

Dennis I don’t remember where I read or heard it but Bochy said he was going to rest Torres for at least 2 games. Felt Torres was just completely lost at the plate.

  Kev, I believe it was Torres himself that admitted to being lost. I woulda went with Ross in CF and Hall as the DH. Bill has good numbers vs Penny, but so does Rowand in limited action. The Gamer gets the call for time served with the Giants. I bet a few of you guys know about the term “time served.” “Good behavior” is another thing…

  I grabbed a couple of great tickets for July 4 off of stubhub yesterday — club level over the RF bullpen (first place to get the shade 😉 ) — at a reasonable price. Today, a guy told me he couldn’t get tickets (some craigslist nightmare narrative developed), and Krukow keeps shouting tonight that they’re sold out for the 4th. I won’t miss a 4th at the park, when they’re in town. Yet I almost forgot this year because of all the other shit hitting the fan these days. Last time they were in town was two years back, Lincecum vs. Oswalt (Astros). G’s won nicely. Lincecum goes again this year.

He was safe regardless if Burriss caught the ball or not. Our pitchers do the crappiest job of holding on runners since time remembered. But when the runners get greedy, Stewie has been know to make them pay. Sit down! And grab some pine, meat! This game is pretty fucking exciting. Giant baseball – gotta love it.

  I think Kruk was right. Bum can’t lose the game now, gotta prevent that. And a good moment to go to the pen, no matter what Bum’s mind was like. Bochy’s ability to handle pitching changes is really pretty stunning. The numbers and known match ups just give him something to work with, like the sketches Miles Davis drew for the Kind of Blue sessions.

Here we go again. Starters have good cause to sue the hitters for non-support. Another sterling effort by Bumgarner will not result in him evening out his record a bit. At a 110+ pitch count going into the 8th, Bochy probably went with him because of a BP that got stretched in Chicago. In hindsight and even in my intuitive foresight, it may not have been a good decision. Had the Giants hitters added one mere run in the top of the 8th the minor but telling BP meltdown may not have happened.
