A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Citizen Cain

Posted in Uncategorized by tedspe on October 11, 2012

What a confidence building game yesterday.

Not for the Giants, for me.

I’ll keep this fairly short. The only minor complaint was Zito. Man, 2 and 2/3 innings??!! Not a surprise just a complaint. And *still* the Giants keep up the uncanny “Zito Win Streak” (cue the TWILIGHT ZONE theme).

And did I does or does I didn’t ask youse all to stop talking smack about Lincecum? I believe I does. Just as I earlier asked ya’ll SHHAADDUPP!!! On Pablo Sandoval!!!

And what’s with Pagan? I mean, I always liked him but he sure flexes his All-Star plays in a timely manner. Who the fuck does he think he is? A more talented Cody Ross? And the whole offense after 3 games. Looks like the ex-lax finally kicked in. I’m not sure giving Posey the proverbial 1st base “day off” did anyone any good but at least it didn’t backfire.

Now–Men and ferrett– all this stuff you’ve heard about Giants not wanting to fight, wanting to stay out of the further post season, is a lot of horse dung. Giants traditionally love to fight. All real Giants love the sting of battle. When you were kids, you all admired the champion marble shooter, the fastest runner, big league ball players, the toughest boxers. Giants fans love a winner and will only reluctantly tolerate a loser. The Giants play to win all the time. I wouldn’t give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That’s why The Giants have never really lost, and will never really lose a playoff series… because the very thought of losing is hateful to The Giants!!!!

Not saying it *can’t* happen cuz baseball is baseball. But the never say never attitude is so prevelant–it practically reeks.

That’s right, reeks…reeks? Wait a minute. I think I’m melting cheese in the oven. Hold on….

Okay, breakfast is ready. Anyway–CAIN vs. Lactose Intolerant

Flappers. Giants. All the way!!!

SEMPER FAI, MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!! HOOO-WAHHHHH!!!!

Almost perfect Ted. Including a line like, “I love the smell of napalm in the morning with my coffee and cheese” would have been perfect, but I am quibbling. It’s almost show time baby. Go Giants!

    Most Excellent, Ted!

I’ll be listening in over MLB, and will have my phone tuned to Gameday to follow the details (pitch count, box, etc.).

One Day, One Game at a Time.

    A few thoughts.

Hunter Fucking Pence. I am liking this guy more all the time. First there was the “Come to Jesus” speech prior to game 3. Then he got them in a “rally huddle” for game 4. My understanding is it will happen again. Up to this point we lacked our “Fear the Beard” or our Cody Ross, or our Juan Uribe, but Pence is THAT GUY this year. And I FUCKING LIKE IT!

Bochy continues to amaze. He TOTALLY undressed Johnny B yesterday. I mean everything he did turned to gold (double-switch when bringing in Tim was just one example). Heard on KNBR this morn that Dusty has now lost six consecutive series-clinching games. I like Dusty, but today – Fuck Him! He is the fucking enemy.

I have a good feeling about today. I am AMPED-UP!

    Let’s ROLL!

    Orange October – GO GIANTS!!!

Me too Chi. My Mom has a picture of her and Dusty prominently displayed on a picture shelf at her home where I am staying, while my parents cruise the Caribbean. I am turning that frickin’ picture over, until the game is over. In short, Dusty is a non-entity in this house until the end of this game.

I got to work early this morning and searched the entire building for a radio (I forgot mine at home). I found one and it took about 10 minutes of shifting it around in my office to find a spot that caught KNBR. But I did it. Check this thing out, it HAS to be 30 years old. I tweeted a pic of it sitting gently in the spot that I could get it to work, lol

cool pic flav. Lot of unbelievable stuff happened in playoffs yesterday, just a great day for baseball, and 4 more today. Once again, can’t catch this one bc of work, but maybe that’s a good thing bc I haven’t seen the other two SF Ws either.
I said before they started I thought NL title would be btw SF and Braves, so when STL took advantage of meltdown I thought uh oh. with health of their SPs and enough guys to rake they are just outclassing the Nats. Cards pen could explode at any time, but I thought the decision not to use Stras was just asinine, and if they lose and an SP gets raked again like edwin jackson did yesterday, the FO deserves a ton of heat for it.
Latos was supposedly under the weather…I think SF puts him and his team 6 feet under.

Jenkins writes, “It’s a bit reminiscent of 2010, when all three postseason series–Atlanta, Philadelphia and Texas–were clinched on the road.”
Henry reports George Foster to throw out first pitch today. Man, what a cool hitter to watch….he was just another in a long long line of black and latin OFs that came out of Sf like they were on an assembly line. And far too many of them, most of whom I really dug, wound up elsewhere after a short career here (admittedly in a crowded OF) and went on to stardom elsewhere.

The starting time works right for me, but that doesn’t seem to be the case for many of you and that’s bullshit. Flav is right, this game should be in prime time. Either that or late afternoon and put Tigers-A’s in there. Now Detroit fans will have to stay up past midnight to watch the game. And why? All because the precious goddamn Yankees have to be in prime time all the time. Thank you, Bud.

Enough of that. Go get ’em Matty and bring it on home Giants!

  13. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 11, 2012 at 10:03 am

Everything on paper says the Reds win today.
    Home field.
    Latos owns the Giants.
Reds have slapped Cain around this season.
Reds have not been swept at home this year.
Historically, the number of teams coming back to win a 5-gamer after dropping the first two is miniscule.

But there’s one huge factor the other way.
They don’t play the game on paper.
Why the fuck NOT the Giants?!!!…

  14. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 11, 2012 at 10:06 am

That radio pic is too funny, Flav. When I was a kid, I think I told, you we used to go to Sun Valley right after we got out of school. I had a little (well, about 8″x2″x2″) tranisistor radio that would pick up KSFO (and Giants games) at night while we were there. Good times . . .
    .
Win or lose? Fuck that. All the way, baby! 10/11/12, on to the next series. I think we take it going away. 6-2.

Matt the horse lives up to his name.

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 11, 2012 at 10:09 am

And FWIW, here’s what I said after the game 2 loss:

      unca_chuck said, on October 8, 2012 at 11:37 am(Edit)

Gawd, what a pile of shit baseball game. The Giants continued their streak of hitting shit hard and getting nothing to start the game, but just settled into beating balls into the ground the rest of the night.

Yeah, I think they should give Arias a shot. Crawfish looked flat lost these past 2 games. But who didn’t? Blanco sitting on the 3-2 count was galling. The fucking Latos thing just pisses me off to no end, though. Never was I more bummed to see a front-line starter leave a game when Cueto went down. Mainly because Latos came in and did his usual shit vs us. The ninth inning fuckups both nights? Just salt in the wound. Friday’s really did hurt as the Giants came back on loaded up the bases. Who knows how shit changes if the G’s are only down 3-1 instead of 5-1?

Baaaaaah. On the other hand, if we’ve learned anything about Bochy and this team it is that they bounce back well from adversity, they are road warriors, and they always clich series wins away from home . . .

Take one game and the rest will follow.

(Sung to the tune of free your mind and your ass will follow)

Yeah, I think Dusty failed badly in that scenario with Arias the other day. He would have forced Bochy to use his last bench guy, in an extra inning game, Pence was already hobbled, AND Arias is fast as hell and puts pressure on the defense. Which is EXACTLY what tranhspired.
