A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

One Game

Posted in Uncategorized by ewisco on October 25, 2012

and a nice one but just one game. I gave it a fist pump and a quiet YES and got ready to move on. I’m keeping my head down and my ammo dry. taking it one game at a time. i’m going to play within myself today, when i’m not outright playing with myself. Barry Zito, Game one winner. Maybe the Mayans have it right. Win or lose, a resurgent Undertaker would be really good news. Otherwise game 6 becomes a black hole. So, a tip of the cap to the Panda and back to work.

well I was out this morning walking around town running some errands and all of a sudden it dawned on me hey we took the Tigers for a swim in Giants pond! the water’s fine. When I got back in I started to re-watch last night’s game. I listened last night to KNBR in the re-watch with Joe Buck open my eyes to the flinch of Valverde and some interesting facts that KNBR guys did not tell me. Great game almost a perfect game Pagan missed that super catch; Kontos who is usually dead on had a bit of a bad outing. back-to-back two of the best posts we have had in a long time. Ted how did you come up with that Deteriorata reference? and there it is the Giants when 8 to 3 but the game was a lot more lopsided than what that score shows. Was there some of you who were starting to question if Sandoval would be back next year? I think he will. I think Zito’s got another season left in him. and like I said earlier unless Bumgardner implodes we got a good chance tonight. I had my on Fister before he came over to Detroit last year. And I’m open for a loss tonight. That bit about selling the broken bats on eBay that was unique and now we know that underpants names his bat. All right then.
    Go Gigantes!
    We score we win
    together we are giant

I assume you lot saw the after-game BB2Nite. Kruk is all over loving the giants: “giants are playing giants bb, pitch, defend and scratch out some runs taking advantage of opportunities and opponents mistakes.” While deeroid made a error or two the home team kept coming up with defensive gems.
yesterday I quoted verlander saying the Tigers would win and he wanted a WS win for his HOF bid. He is now 0-3 with an era in double digits for ws play. humbled I imagine.
Confidence is the word ESPN keeps using to explain the team spirit that keeps my team winning.

I didn’t necessarily buy into the “Verlander is a schmuck” thing, but I do after what he pulled on his pitching coach last night. That “what are YOU doing out here?” is all-time top 10 schmuckiness. Can you imagine a Giants pitcher pulling that, and how that would go down with Righetti and Bochy? I’m not sure what that means about the Tigers, but that ain’t a cool thing.
Yeah, the pitching coach may have picked a bad time to go out there, but why did Verlander have to humiliate the guy in front of the entire TV-watching baseball world? Verlander turned many “undecided” viewers into pulling for the Giants in this series.

according to the BP account of the game: (we all saw the part where he smiled and mouthed β€œwhat are YOU doing out here?”)
When pitching coach Jeff Jones went to mound, Verlander told him: “All you did (by coming out there) was get the crowd really into it.”

Beautifully written Post Of The Day Paul. Blown away by you embracing this opportunity, where you decisively and without qualms, fly out to the SF bay area; meet fellow Flappers for fellowship; attend a World Series game, where you not only watch the Giants win, but see them destroy the Tigers; and, then fly back to Syracuse the following day. Living large and absorbing each and every moment.

Wow! A blueprint for me and others to follow in our daily lives. You’re my hero dude! πŸ™‚

Pawlie – your post brought the mist right back to my eyes. I am so happy that you experienced such a wonderful time, and especially the beautiful ending (maybe not) in the bleachers of section 142. I am jealous that I am as far away from the City (I know…not nearly as far away as many of you) as I am, and the logistics of it made it impossible to join you guys yesterday. I was certainly there with you Flappers and the 42,000+ in our yard in heart, spirit, and soul.

Edd – Pablo will definitely be back next year. I won’t be surprised to see management lean on him to get his fat ass in shape, though. He is signed through 2014. Salary this year 3.2 mil, next year 5.7 mil, and 2014 8.25 mil. He will be FA-eligible in 2015. I don’t see him going anywhere.

Zito is signed through next year and is due 20 mil. There is a 7 mil option on him for 2014. Hell, if he pitches remotely close next year to the way he did this year, I think the Giants pick-up that option.

I wonder about Pence. He will enter his last year of AE next year. Making 10.4 this year. Do the Giants offer him arbitration? He is FA-eligible in 2014.

Anyway…screw all that…we will have many moons to sit around the hot stove and discuss what Sabes and crew should and should not do.

    Right now, it is OctoberQuest.

The key moment that told me special things were in store last night was when Angel’s shot hit 3rd and skipped into the OF for a double. I gave the knowing dude head nod and said quitely to myself…yes indeed the baseball gods are smiling upon us!

I’ve totally bought in to this magic carpet ride Zito is on…..I even went so far as to tell a few friends I expected a victory in Game 1. It kind of reminds me of the roll Ohio St was on in football several years ago when they weren’t that loaded with talent and kept pulling wins out of their ass and eventually won the BCS title with Maurice Clarett and company. At a certain point I threw the stats and even what I observed on the field out the window and said “no one is going to beat these guys—its their year.” I think Zeets is on that kind of roll right now and as much as it blows my mind, I’m a believer.
I’m kinda surprised they brought in Tim last night instead of saving him for tonite, but I’m also way past questioning Bochy’s handling of pitchers. It won’t surprise me if Bum throws a good game.
Glad to hear some Flappers hooked up and I agree Pawlie’s POD is a an absolute gem.

Just one game, but not impressed with the pussy cats. No question this messes with their heads. Just like Texas was searching for answers after we stunned them by whupping Cliff Lee. What a run! 28-4 last 4 games. And they have scored 23 runs at home in the last 3. Not bad for a team that has struggled to score at home. Feels like they have caught fire and it’s not just the hitting. The SP, the defense, the pen…And they have a mgr at the top of his game. A few assists from the baseball gods doesn’t hurt either.

On Verlander: besides the routine with the pitching coach, he was doing way too much snickering in the dugout for a guy who just had his ass handed to him..
MadBum vs. Fister: others were as surprised as I was that Leyland tabbed Fister. Sanchez has given up one run to us here,..in 25 innings covering a start per year since 2010. I’m not sold on Madison turning it completely around based on a couple bullpen sessions but he should just need to be OK, IMO. If we hit at all, Bochy won’t let MadBum lose…
Pablo: rough duty for the pitcher when the guy behind him is the NL batting champ..
Game one isn’t usually a BFD, but when you make a habit out of whupping the “best pitcher on the planet”, it’s bigger than usual…

Pawlie & Flavor, it was great meeting you guys. Sorry about cutting out so quickly but my dad was a jet engine mechanic in the Marines back in the day and loves those fly overs.

What a great game last night. I knew good things were in store when I realized we were in the same section 103 as Ferret was in on Monday night. Strangely we were sitting in the middle of the Detriot Tigers family and friend area so we were surrounded by Tiger fans. Leyland’s wife was right in front of us. Some d-bag Tiger fan behind us spent the bottom of the first talking about how Sandoval is a dog meat third base man. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! How you like that partner? He left for a cab in the 7th. I don’t think my dad noticed all the Tiger fans though because right around the 6th inning he stood up and said “What’s with all the long faces around here? The Giants are taking it to em. LET’S Go GIANTS!!! He’s usually pretty quiet so that one had me rolling.

Zito was dealing but Bochy’s quick hook was appropriate in my opinion. He’s managing for every pitch, every base, every run and every out. I don’t know about momentum but this Giants club is playing together and seems truly in the moment with the game at hand the only concern. 3 to go.

    • Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on October 25, 2012 at 9:47 am

that’s pretty funny about your dad. Great to see you and to meet him.

Sounds like the perfect BD Micah. Congratulations, and a happy belated birthday. And I assume your dad got to see the fly-over. As I was telling Jean (Ferret) on one of yesterday’s threads (when she mentioned the flyover for Game 7 was lackluster), the fly over has always been one of my favorite parts of the pre-game.

And I was lqtm when you described your dad in the 6th inning. That is classic.

And I agree on all counts about Bochy…even with the quick hook. I admire Leland and think he is one of the best in the game, but Bochy continues to pull the right levers and push the right buttons time and time again.

        Thanks Chi.

The flyover roared right over our corner of the park. It was epic. I am so happy that I went to that game. The ceremony of a World Series game is something all Flappers deserve to exprience. I’m not usually for all the pomp but the fly over, national anthem and the SFPD irishman singing God Bless America in the 7th. All of it was great. Then to have Sandoval pile on with 3 bombs. Oh, man. It was awesome!

One of the funny things I saw after the game was the ESPN crew, when asked the significance of game 1, Schill(ing) and Kruk said ‘Nothing. Strap it on tomorrow and go out and try to even the series.’ On the MLB Network, on the same question, Harold Reynolds said “Huge. Detroit HAS to be shaking their heads at the fact the Giants just crrushed our all-world pitcher. They didn’t just beat Verlander, they knocked him all over the yard. The impact is significant, and don’t believe otherwise.’

    • blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado said, on October 25, 2012 at 10:09 am

Reynolds has complimented the Giants on a couple of occasions during the playoffs. More important, he seems to have significant insightful comments (at least, in my opinion anyway).

I know a lot of you Flappers follow the players blogs (Brandon and Brandon or the White Shark). Today, I didn’t expect to see anything new but I’m amazed to find a new post from Belt and Blanco following last night’s game. I love getting their slants on games and todays didn’t disappoint. Blanco’s is titled “Pablo’s Hogging All the Hits” and was a fun read. His last paragraph caught me by surprise and it choked me up, big time. Worth the read IMO.
Go Giants and Go White Shark.

  21. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 25, 2012 at 10:51 am

Yeah. I think beating their all-world pitcher on day one is pretty big. The one thing I didn’t realize is how mediocre Detroit is against left handers.

So the hope is Bummie finds his mojo tonight. The ESPN guys (again) were touting Fister’s (snicker) demeanor in the interview, and pooh-poohing Bummie’s seeming uncertainty. The only problem with that is, Bummie’s demeanor is pretty much always like that.

If the Giants can fly to Deetroit up 2-0 with their best 2 pitchers to come, their chances look pretty damn good.

Quantitatively, this is how stupid Kruk and Schilling are insofar as their statement, ” . . . Game one means nothing” or whatever the fuck they said to diminish the Giants great start against Detroit’s Cy Young pitcher. Specifically, teams to go up 1-0 in the World Series have won the series 63 percent of the time in major league history, including eight of the previous nine years. Despite Kruk and Schilling being idiots, I still find it difficult to believe they didn’t know that. Dipshits.

Stern hardly ever acknowledged that the Warriors even existed, except to come out here and show his face at that SF pier announcement ceremony a while back. He is a condescending little prick, from what I’ve seen and heard of him. The way that he hid the refs scandal, blaming a lone, “rogue” ref, was masterful, with the help of ESPN dropping it like a hot whistle. I think there was far more there to investigate, based on what Donaghy alleged about how multiple refs were involved in shenanigans, and the league itself was steering refs to favor certain teams in the playoffs for ratings purposes. Surprise, it was only Donaghy, and the potential for a huge scandal that could have destroyed the “integrity” of the league quickly faded…

  29. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 25, 2012 at 11:45 am

I’ll bet the ratings on this WSeries are down the dumper. The flyover states have little interest in SF baseball, being associated with sin city and Barry Bonds and all. And, I don’t think the Tigers have that great of a fan following in other major markets. What I don’t get is why ratings puts these networks in such a foul mood with regard to on air conduct. The barely concealed disdain and grudging complimentary attitude of most of the TV commentators, regardless of network, and the national writers. What’s the deal? Great city, great ballpark, great fans, and the Bay Area has 6 to 7 million people, depending on where you draw the lines. This ain’t Kansas City. If this team’s season and especially post-season stories played out for the Mets or Phills, the media would be having aneurysms going on about how great this team is. So, the disrespect this organization gets, and by extension, its fans, makes our enjoyment of the team’s successes all the sweeter…

    • twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 said, on October 25, 2012 at 12:53 pm

Seems like folks want to come here (SF) for the same reasons they don’t want to live here…as to TV ratings, last night’s game *was* the top rated “show”( but second lowest game 1 at 8.8) according to the ratings I’ve seen. But baseball long ago lost it’s standing as America’s game, even more than ever what we afficionadoes of the sport consider “leisurely”, is increasingly viewed as “boring” among the young. In the 1980’s the series drew 20+ ratings amost regardless of who played. St. Louis/KC drew 25+ in 1985, by contrast the Yankee/Philly series in 2009 failed to get 1/2 that. One factor that often gets overlooked, though: a good series, even between teams in smaller or “non-desirable” markets can still pulldown some good ratings- and everybody loves a Game 7. It’s almost a series by itself.
Two lowest rated ever were our series in 2010 and Philly/Tampa in 2008, both with 8.4s.

  30. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 25, 2012 at 12:04 pm

Actually, this time around, the Giants are getting more respect with regards to the fan base and such thn 2 years ago. Back then it was the Texas Bush straight and true fans vs the drug-addled pot-smoking cocksucking luatics in SF.

This time around, at least the announcers are acknowledging the support the fans give to the team. They are even calling this the loudest place they’ve all been to. Even the tired shit about Zito getting booed by the home fans (didn’t happen this yer, and Zito was gone most of last year) was really blown out of proportion by the national media (hello Tim fucking McCarver and Joe Buck). And McCarver’s Barry Manilow comment was flat weird. I think he pissed himself laughing at his own joke . . . Buck said “Manilow? Come back to Earth, Tim.”

    • snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 25, 2012 at 12:16 pm

Chuck, I could not tell if McCarver was actually making a joke after the “other Barry” prompt by Buck, or he was actually thinking about some Barry Manilow possible appearance at ATT? The way Buck responded, I think Buck thought McCarver was clueless on remembering Bonds, and it was NOT a joke. McCarver’s so bad, I can’t tell if he’s having a senior moment or actually trying to make a joke…

Throwing this question out to anyone, but especially snarkk, since this is essentially in his “wheelhouse” and somewhat related to his business . . .

OK, we just won the NLCS and earlier, the NLDS, and now we are in the midst of the World Series. My question is how much is that worth to the Giants ownership group? Specifically, how much money do the Giants rake in for game tickets, souvenirs, parking, television, etc.? If you can break it down by each playoff series (NLDS, NLCS, WS) that would be cool.

Bonus question – Based upon a cost benefit analysis, was Barry Zito’s $126 million contract worth it, when you consider that he was key in the Giants advancing in the NLCS by winning an elimination game; the first game of the World Series, and his performance – good, bad, ugly – as a Giant through the years?

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 25, 2012 at 12:42 pm

Bonus question? YES. Like Renteria’s $18 mill for 3 years of basically hanging on the DL was well worth it in the postseason.

When I was researching a game 1 ticket, the cost was going up exponentially each inning of the NLCS last game played. When I last checked SRO was over $400. In 2010, Pawlie said those seats were $1000. For game one, the Giants weren’t even selling World Series tickets, stating something to the effect, that they would only sell tickets on the day of the game and they would be at the “market price.” I read Ostler’s column this morning about Zito and he had a comment about parking costing $200 and a baseball hat costing $50. Holy shit!

Shit, between all the extra games/tickets/parking/concessions, and the accompanying price hike for playoffs, the number has to be pretty large. Tickets alone for one game would be what? $200.00 average price x 42,000? That would be $8.4 mill per game. 7 extra games (through tonight) so far would add up to $59 mill?

Buck’s call of Pablo’s 3rd homerun demonstrates the issue with Buck. Buck should have been totally table-setting and building the drama; instead, in his usual monotone way, he was off on some tangential thing, and the homerun interrupted him in the middle of it. And his homerun call is very generic, anyway.

I also don’t give a fuck about what any of the assholes at Fox, ESPN, or any of the other national media centers think. Fuck them, too!

All that matters is this team and what they have accomplished this year. I mentioned the other day how Demp and I were comparing the 2010 team to this year’s team, and how until a couple of months ago, I really didn’t think this team had the identify of its 2010 counterpart. Well, that was then, this is now. I have to say, that for me (and this is a personal thing…100 fans could have 100 different takes on this subject) this team is more special than the 2010 squad, just because of the way they have done it…and that is with…

    Blade, here’s some musings.
Forbes indicates in their annual MLB review that the Giants Total Revenues were thus ($millions):
    2009: 201M
    2010: 230M (playoffs, incl. WS)
    2011: 230M

I have no idea how they come up with this info. But, using it, since 2010 was a playoff year and 2009 and 2011 were not, some basic conclusions apply. First, the playoff run through all three levels of playoffs was worth an extra $30M to the Giants. That apparently includes all sources of revenue including tix, concessions, licensed goods, during and after the playoffs. So, apparently a WS run added a playoff revenue premium to “normal” annual revs of around 15%. Seems reasonable, if not actually somewhat low, to me. The unchanged $230M rev number in 2011, a non-playoff year, suggests that there is definitely some spillover effect into the next year, a playoff/WSeries “hangover premium”, if you will, to making a playoff run the previous year.

Since that 2011 rev number would not include revenue related to playoff games, the bulk of that hangover premium, outside of normal increased reg season prices, would be next-season sales of licensed, specialty goods related to the playoff run (dvds, hats, shirts, books, whatever), as well as just general increased sales of licensed goods to newly-minted fans due to the bandwagon effect of post-season increased exposure. Now, for 2012, the Giants will have a minimum of 8 home playoff games (8 already incl tonite). Being conservative, and using round numbers, I’d estimate the average face value playoff ticket price at around $100 (Chuck says $200, but I’ll be conservative), so tix revenue per game at around $5M + concessions+parking+licensed goods spot sales total out at $7-$8M per game. So a total of 8 playoff games generates somewhere $50M-$60M, nic any money from Cable pre and post game telecasts.

I believe, from what I’ve read online, that the playoff revs are subject to the MLB revenue sharing contributions, which is something like 30%. So, speaking net of that, the Giants maybe are packing in an extra $40M or so from the playoffs, unless it goes 7 in the WS, which would add another net $6-8M. Check this against a 15% playoff premium on the 2011 $230M non playoff year revs gives you about a $35M playoff premium, so those $40M numbers don’t look too far off. So, let’s expand a bit and say the playoffs add an extra net $40M to $45M into the Giants cashbox. Still, seems low to me.

Did Zito earn his contract in that game #5 in St. Louis? That’s more semantics and emotion than anything else, since he wasn’t the only player on the field. That game did arguably get them into the WSeries (though they had to win two more and did), so did he earn the Giants an extra $40M to $45M? That’s a fan’s call. Plus, we can’t forget that next year the same “hangover premium” should apply, with additional licensed goods sales of playoff run DVDs and other goods, which if history serves as guide (per Forbes), will push Giants revenues to 15% over previous year, giving them a plateau in the future of around $260M to $270M in recurring revenue, as the fan base grows larger around the country and world with the enhanced visibility given by the 2012 playoffs. This is what Baer dreams about, the Giants becoming an international brand like the Yankees, so that the revenues just cascade on themselves year in and year out regardless of playoff entries.

Interesting that based on the Forbes 2011 team revenues, recent transactions indicate this:
Dodgers: $230M Rev (sold in 2012 for $2.1 billion, including stadium, but not all parking revs). Multiple = 9.1
Pads: $163M Rev (sold in 2012 for $800M, incl 30% of stadium owned by team, city owns rest). Multiple = 4.9 (gross up to 6.75 assuming 100% of stadium were sold).

Based on that, using a Rev multiple of 7.25X Revs (stadium and all parking revs), I’d estimate the Giants (including sale of stadium) at a value of 7.25X $260M = $1.89 billion, and that doesn’t include the additional value premium beyond parking revs of the developable real estate they have on the parking lot area south of ATT, a project which they’ve been working on for some years, but recently lost the publicized prospective partner. Add that in, and you’ve got total Giants value easily above $2 billion, less any remaining debt balance on ATT “mortgage”, so my guess as to net value of the organization is somewhere around $2 billion, give or take 10%…

Dirt, but that was the secondary market price, right? Stubhub, etc. And for WS game? That’s not face value, which the Giants receive — Or, was it? And the NLDS and NLCS tix were not as high as WS tix, I assume, so the average tix price of the entire playoff run would be less.

Tom, thank you for researching this. I’m not certain you saw my subsequent post to Chuck at 1:23PM, where I mentioned Scott Ostler’s column, where he said parking was $200 and a baseball hat was $50. No idea if the parking figure was on Giants property or another vendor. Nevertheless, yeah, I agree with your point below:

“So, let’s expand a bit and say the playoffs add an extra $40M to $45M into the Giants cashbox. Still, seems low to me.”

For example, Intel earns approx. 37% return on investment for their products. Apple earns much more than that on their Tablets. The Giants payroll is approx. $130 million and I have no idea how much it costs to maintain the Phone park, their equipment, spring training facilities, IT payroll, administration, etc.. In short, $40-45 million ROI for the playoffs, sans the regular season, seems low to me.

In any event, I know MLB teams try to hide their revenue for a number of reasons, e.g., they don’t want the players union to know the exact figures. Consequently, it’s difficult to figure out “how much they are raking in.”

Again, thank you for providing the info you did. Much of which I was unaware of.

    • snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 25, 2012 at 2:35 pm

No prob, Blade. I think the Forbes rev info they gather is low, just a feeling, and certainly low for Dodgers based on the fact that they’re going to conclude a new cable deal supposedly sometime this year that will give them billions over the next decade. LA is trying to formulate a WCoast version of YES network, or quasi-version of it, so that they have equity in the situation, somewhat like the Giants. I tried to be conservative on all this pie in the sky stuff, the Giants could be raking in $10-$12M gross revs per playoff game for all I know, before rev sharing commitments. Zito’s saving performance in Game #5 did enable them to come back and gets at least 4 additional playoff games. That doesn’t recoup all that $126M, but a good chunk. I’d say his recent performances should definitely take the bad taste out of the mouths of the ownership. As to the Giants org value, it’s easily north of $1.5 billion, given the Dodger transaction, and especially the Pads transaction, since that team supposedly owns only 30% of Petco Park, and the Pads have nowhere near the cachet, brand and multiple-channel earning power of the Giants…

Blade, I know you play the equities. I think you have to be careful when comparing operating companies like Intel and Apple that leverage very cheap foreign labor situations to make high end tangible products with an entertainment business like the Giants that has a high labor cost portion in its OpEx. The operating asset/labor mix of the industries that generate their earnings aren’t really comparable. Plus, Apple and Intel are swimming in cash, especially Apple, whereas the Giants still allegedly have a significant outstanding balance on the ATT stadium “debt”, so their relative costs of capital are fairly different, and resulting assumed rates of return…

Of course, depending on how he’s used over the weekend, or not used. Whether that would make Game 6 any less of a black hole, I don’t know.
Hopefully, Bum does well tonight, and Lincecum can remain super-sub, where he’s finding success lately. And it enhances the Giants’ huge bullpen advantage over the Tigers.

I’m not sure if it still works this way but in the past all Post Season tickets were priced by MLB. I think the face value price was determined by the size of the seating at the stadium. The amount of seating allotted for visiting teams and visiting media was also mandated by MLB. I’m pretty sure the ticket revenue pretty much went to the players and MLB’s general fund (or whatever they called it). I don’t think the team itself makes much off of POs and the WS from ticket sales (maybe $ to offset operating costs). Now beer sales and $50 hats the team makes huge bucks on.

Blade, the $200 parking was for a garage close to the stadium. I’m not sure about the lots that the Giants run but I can find out for you if you want.

Yeah, no idea on what the Giants make for parking at their site near the park, but it must be a mint as well. Ironically, that same land is going to be developed not only for parking (underground), but shopping/amusement park, etc. I understand the Giants own everything too.

There’s a formula for generating the player’s pool from the playoffs. But, I think it is based on only the first 3 of 5 and then first 4 of 7 games in a series. I don’t know from where, but that is how I think it goes; the players pool for sure does not get a lion’s share of the ticket revenues. My online research indicated the tix revenues were subject to the rev sharing scheme, but I can’t say for certain that is true or not, or how much MLB would get…

      • Locojuan's avatar Bozo said, on October 25, 2012 at 4:00 pm

I think your right snarkk, I do recall something about the players only getting a portion of a certain amount of games. But I still don’t think the owners of the hosting teams get much if any of the ticket sales for the Post Season. Now merch and concessions is a whole different deal. Which would make the Forbes numbers between 2010 and 2011 more reasonable (more concessions in 2010 and more merch after winning the WS).

Whatever the deal is, nobody is getting poor from it.

Yeah, it was empty yesterday. But the thing is, they put desks up there so it might look empty, but have poeple in ’em.

Something like that. Yeah, that article mentioned the arena that may or may not happen for the Warriors to come back to SF. That would be cool I guess. Maybe they can reach the goddman playoffs some time this century.

I noticed that too about up in left field. It looks empty on TV but it was full of people. Behind desks as chuck said or whatever the hell they have up there.
