Go Giants!
Time for Peavy to get his first win as a Giant today. Get into that shitty ChiSox pen and do some damage. GO GIANTS!
Go Giants!
At McCovey Cove, I can be found with my knee pads on. My nickname is Sausage Swallower…
Wow. How ingenius is that? Smarmy dickishness is your redeeming quality?
You keep rear-ending all those ambulances you are chasing.
How about you head over to the Castro Fuckwad. The Rear Entry Bar needs you!!!
Realism is not highly valued here, apparently.
True. We’re all delusional here, so take a hike Maalox. There’s a Dodger village asking for their idiot.
Realism is HIGHLY VALUED here. And everyone here REALLY wants to see your sorry ass GONE! Now just go away FUCKHEAD.
I’m starting to suspect this is performance art by Flav. 😉
I won’t be able to see the game until later; I’ve got it DVRed.
For all my bummed-out-ness about the Giants these days; the bottom line is it’s still all about GO GIANTS!! Let’s get a win today. Let’s see something to build on.
I have to say that these are depressing times for Giants fans. But I still go home and turn on the game. Hope is a hard thing to crush as long as there is time. and even when/if the Giants are ever out of it I will still watch if there is a chance to knock some West team out of the playoffs. GO GIANTS. And even though the Giants will not be able to knock out the Dodgers, I will be rooting for any team that plays them.
Here is the latest on Belt, Sanchez, and Scoots…apologies if this is a duplicate that has already been posted.
http://www.csnbayarea.com/giants/bochy-belt-just-out-sorts-concussion-symptoms
When Giants times are tough (and this season’s position of the team so far is not at all very bad in historical terms for us long-time vets that have seen seasons where the dog days start about May 15), I just focus on game to game. “Enjoy the game” as Kent said once. Look for a good play here and there, a small rally, something to break up the overall situation that may not be that good. Hell, they very well could somehow limp into a WC berth, and anything can happen in a one game deal. If they made it past that into a real post season series, at this point I’d consider that a minor miracle. But, with 40+ games to go, they might somehow develop some momentum if two guys, maybe three, could actually start hitting…
I can’t believe they are considering Hector catching again this season, let alone Timmy’s next start. That is crazy, IMO.
Totally agree. How many more head shots after a couple of concussions do they want him to take in one season? Belt still has headaches from his concussion and Bochy calls that being “out of sorts”. Yet when Buster sweats a little in a night game, apparently he needs to take the next day off. Hmmm…
Giants medical staff at a new low, if they bring Hector back.
Maybe management and PR have a new gimmick coming up ” .Hector Sanchez Piniata Bobblehead night”
I love this. Scutaro is owed about $8 million still for this season and next, combined, but Bochy must have scratched him off his iPhone list. From the Baggs article:
“As for Marco Scutaro, Bochy was asked for an update and said, “Gosh, I haven’t talked to Scutaro in awhile.” He wasn’t sure if the second baseman was in Arizona or home in Miami, either. Kind of tells you all you need to know, right?”
I know Tom. I read that and said to myself “WTF!?”
It sure would be nice to get a First inning run.
Ok, some runs in the second then.
Giants out in first inning on 11 pitches. Since they can’t seem to score swinging early, I’d like to see a determined effort to grind out some ABs by these hitters. Unfortunately, from appearances that doesn’t seem to be an issue at all with Giants management, despite a 20-36 record the last two months…
This is the peeviest of my pet peeves with this team. They all approach every AB like it’s their first ever call-up to the bigs. If a guy has walked 2 guys in front of batter 3, do they take a pitch? See a guy they’ve never faced before, do they take a couple? Nope. Swing from the heels every goddamn time.
But but but Charlie…chicks dig the long balls. Point well taken. It IS frustrating.
FUCK Adam Dunn!
Dunn has seemed to make hay against the Giants regardless of the laundry he wears.
Posey with a triple? WTF…is that a first???
And Morse with a strikeout — hardly a first.
Same fucking shit! You get a god damned runner on third with no fucking outs, and you cannot score a fucking run??? This offense is beyond fucking pathetic.
Fucking unbelievable, leadoff triple and still can’t score.
I am about ready to throw a very large and heavy object through the nearest wall.
When Panda and Morse can’t get a guy in from 3rd with nobody out and one out, respectively, it’s hard to criticize these young guys for not hitting. In fact, Panik is 12 for his last 29, and looks like maybe he’s figuring things out. I’d rather he hit right now with men on board than Morse…
Who’s pitching for Chi-town? Is it Warren Spahn or Denny McLain?
Cy Young.
I can’t believe Peavy has gone so long without a W. Dude gets it done and keeps the club in the game.
The Giants tip their caps to the opposing starters so much, they’ve been issued new caps with spring-loaded hinges…
Good one. You win some kinda prize.
Damn, just reading paly by play on ESPN. Posey triples, no outs and they can’t get him in??? WTF. awful. How low can this go??
It’s time to quit fucking around, put up a crooked number.
By the way, I’m blaming the centerfield garden on Home hitting woes. It opened up on June 24th, our home record before was 23-16 after the 24th it’s 6-15.
7 SO through 6. Sweet jebus. Time to try easier boyz.
Giants have lost every game since Pagan came back…
Put a fork in it were “DUNN”
Usually have nothing good to say about Blanco, but that was excellent base running by him.
If the call goes against the Giants, I take back what I said about that MOFO Blanco. 🙂
The teams and coaches have had months to figure out how to deal with this blocking the plate rule, so I don’t get why catchers are still blocking the plate without the ball…
My problem with replay is the whole rinky dink process. Come out on the field with a magic box and headphones and stand around listening like its pirate radio. Come on! Is this AA or MLB? There has to be a better way to do this.
In Roman times, there was no instant replay when the Christians were fed to the lions. All decisions were final. 🙂
Hey, god would’ve saved them if…ahh never mind.
Well, Bochy still looks for the thumb up or down from Wotus on the replay. The thumbs up/down signal hasn’t changed in 2000 years…
Lions 7 Christians 1. One old lion threw up because of a bad taste in his mouth and couldn’t stomach any more born agains.
That’s about the only way the Giants can get a run.
Score one for the good guys
Haha, Ventura. Suck it pal.
Blade, how about your boy Blanco? 🙂
Blanco is the White Knight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love this shit.
That’s a terrible rule – good for the Giants in this case, sure, but just a shitty rule.
Which part of the rule? Blocking the plate without the ball?
I thought it has been a rule for a long time. Scioscia just never got busted for it so maybe that’s why it seems new.
Honestly, looking at that replay it didn’t look like it his leg in front affected the outcome.
To me it looked like Flowers leg was planted in front of the plate (before the ball got there) and Blanco didn’t have a lane. I’m very glad NY also saw it that way, still, this will get a lot of looks on the Sports shows.
Agree that his leg was in front of the plate but Blanco hadn’t arrived to take the lane. I would think as long as the catcher moves it should be okay to be in front of the plate. I guess that’s what leads to the human missile aspect but that is more when the catcher entire body is in front of the plate.
Hey, when you are scuffing as hard as our boys to score runs, you take ’em any fucking way you can get ’em. Add on!
On MLB.com, their video highlights used to be about a minute long for each featured play, with two or more replays of the same play, from different angles and maybe even from both teams’ TV feeds. Now, they only show one feed, usually less than 30 seconds in total. Annoyingly short. Yet, when there is a disputed replay call, they will show the entire 3 minute or however long the process takes, including showing the umps standing around waiting for the call. It’s nonsense…
Time for a wild pitch. Why the fuck not….
Humm Baby!
Salute.
WHOOT! Pa-gone! There is that crooked number John!
Yes.
Pagan!!!!!!!!!!
Getting awfully subdued in the WGN booth.
Is gamecast right? Bases loaded, 2 outs?
5 run inning so far. 2 outs.
Wait. What?
Damn! I had almost forgot what it feels like to see our boys winning a game. It feels REAL FUCKING GOOD!
Yay~!
Help me here, this is called . . . umm . . . a . . . uhh . . . Comeback? A big inning? Rout? Sheesh, it’s been so long, I forgot what this is called.
I’m hoping it’s called a win for Peavy.
I said at the beginning of the thread that we needed to get into that shitty Chi Sox bullpen and make hay! Hey hey hey!
There’s the Dunn we know.
Pablito with a triple! Whew!
Dunn shows that gold glove.
Open a can of Whoop Ass? Fuck that! We’re opening an industrial sized 55 gallon drum! This is way cool. Finally something to be happy about that is Giants related…
chuck …http://www.wiz1.net/channel27
Hope you can enjoy the rest of the game…
Is this a regular source for a Giants TV feed?
snarkk…the channels change but the main site is…
http://www.wiziwig.tv/competition.php?part=sports&discipline=baseball
Cool…
Well, the last 2 games, they showed signs of *coming back*. Glad to see them get it done today. Hopefully the downward trend will start reversing itself now….
Good for Peavy, finally with a W opportunity.
Boy Howdy!, 7 runs is usually good for 4 games…
I have a feeling one hit batsman or brushback pitch from either side will clear the benches…
“That’s a terrible rule – good for the Giants in this case, sure, but just a shitty rule.”
Glad it turned out in the Giants favor, but if I am being honest – I agree with Rooster. I hate that fucking rule. One more time, watered down baseball.
Kruk on the vid feed, a classic. As they were showing guys in McCovey Cove hoisting a King Salmon from the back of their boat, and Kruk waxing hungry as a salmon lover:
“But, if you’ve got eggplant and Tilapia for dinner, I’m goin’ to havta’ fake like I’m sick and go home”…
After that 7th inning cloudburst it would appear that there is no way SF can lose a hundred games.
I can’t think of one professional athlete that had a big career wearing # 37…
Except Pat Fischer…
Casey Stengel?
Lester Hayes too.
I said it was time for Peavy to get his first win as a Giant. Close this bee-otch out.
The pitching has been pretty damed good. If these guys can consistently score some runs, they can still make some noise.
Ballgame!
The play at home was large . . . Not certain we would have had the rout if that hadn’t occurred. Big mojo provided by that play.
Agreed, Steve.
Feels like a gift…
Ryu goes for a fifth straight victory tonight against the Braves, who’ve beaten them six times in a row. Damn. Good news is that Santana is pitching for the Braves and he’s been especially tough on Adrian Gonzalez, Juan Uribe and Matt Kemp, holding them to a combined 4 for 36 (.111). Go Braves!
Giants scoring now like the Wow bird.
Due to its large alimentary canal, the Wow bird takes a dump only once a year.
But, when it does, Wow…
“Which part of the rule? Blocking the plate without the ball?”
dirt – just the whole damned thing – seriously, take an objective look at that play – forget that it’s the Giants “scoring” the run. If that’s not an out, than that ain’t baseball.
I agree with you. The WS catcher’s leg in front of the play had no impact on the play. He wasn’t blocking a lane as Blanco hadn’t arrived. Once he had the ball he tagged him out.
If the throw was bad, there is a needless collision, that’s why the out call was overturned.
Sometimes I lick my own nutz.
Dang, some people have all the luck, er, lick…
Just heard the replay of that homer dipshit Hawk Harrelson react to the replay going against the White Sox. It made me smile a little……..
Harrelson’s got to be in the top 5 of worst announcers ever.
Panik is definitely showing me something. I agree with swapping him and Pence in the order.
DJL: Glad to get another recruit on the bandwagon. Guess i got pretty loud about that after Panik’s first good game or so. Wondering if there have been some additions to the Giants scouting and development staff for position players over the past 8-10 years.
Had he not gone under for injury over the best part of the season we might be looking at Mac Williamson joining the outfield in a couple of weeks had his season continued and gone on as great as it started. Duffy and Susac are looking like keepers too. Still seeing Duvall likely to become a trade chip unless the worst case scenario develops with Belt. Also looking at Crawford bringing in something decent as part of a trade package, Slick-fielding shortstops who have had bursts of good hitting and who can drive in runs are probably at quite a premium.
I am still waiting for Panik to publicly credit MacDog and I for getting him going…
