A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Give It To Me

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on October 28, 2014

God dammit. This post season finally got to me. I’ve spent each series trying to convince myself that I’m just happy to be here. I’ve kept my celebrations muted. I’ve avoided expectations. I’ve been more like “Painfully Awkward Rob Lowe” than the ebullient Big Flavor.

But with but one win to go, I can no longer keep this charade up. I want what is rightfully ours. I want another flag flying at the top of Flap Mountain.

And make no mistake about it, these championships are as much for us as they are the players. There is no flag without the fans. With each championship we bank, our identity gets stronger, our head nod gets tighter and the supernova burns its brightest yet.

Enjoy all of it, FU. Let’s go get our 3rd in Five….

I mean, that was just a stupid inning. Belt’s total gaffe, plus 9 times out of 10 he gets to that ball down the line that Moose hit. Dukey fucking hits. There was like one really hard hit ball off Peavy that inning. Must be destined to go 7….

Unless Bochy thinks Lincecum is going to be the Game 7 savior. Other than that it makes no sense why he would burn the rest of the pen. Maybe he wants Machi to go 3 or 4 as he is probably low man in the pen right now. I hope that is the thought.

I think Boch just took a flier on Machi in a game that was over. Kill innings. THen tomorrow, he’s got Huddy, Bum and Timmy accessible. 2-3 innings each? But now that Machi has smoked pole, that might be viable.

Buck was making a snarky reference to the fact that a lot of Giants fans don’t like him, but the reality is a lot of baseball fans don’t like him, so it was wrong of him to single out Giants fans. He should have said something like “There’s a lot of folks who would pay to get me out of this seat.” But he took his opportunity to stick it to us Giants fans with the Giants down 9-0. He knew exactly what he was doing.

      thanks. Now I get it.
I don’t really hate Buck anymore. I feel like he’s called a real good PS for these games and his call on Ishi’s HR was better than Miller’s (IMO).
I think he was just having fun with the fact that he knows Giants fans don’t like him but the Giants are in the WS so it was a topical joke.

Weird. Seriously, last night before going to bed (Tue. night here, Tue. morning in the US), I thought to myself, I just don’t want to wake up to the game in the 3rd inning and the G’s down 7-0.. I couldn’t believe it when that’s exactly what happened. Maybe it was just a premonition after getting pissed at Peavy for his joking about going to the Cubs when he was about to take the mound to bring it home for SF. Whatever. James, you called this one, the see-saw effect of this Series… which should bode well for game 7 if it follows suit. No one will remember this game if we win game 7. Should be dramatic as hell with Hudson on the mound. Put up zeros early on the KC side, score a couple early, and let Bochy manage the gang to the finish line. I’m ok with that. Oh, and Dirt and Loo, great Shawshank references earlier….

I still think Lincecum gets a shot at the 5 but agree with you on Peavy. I had no confidence in him heading into this game.

Remember in ’01 when Randy Johnson pitched late in the 7th game? Save situation? Extra innings? I can’t remember exactly. It’s the only time I can remember a similar situation. I doubt Bum will pitch unless it’s like that. And I can remember only the ’75 Reds winning game 7 after losing game 6. Was that back in the day when they actually went back to the other park for just game 7? Can’t remember exactly that, either. Any way you look at it, the Giants will be “bucking” the trend to win game 7. Which makes it absolutely perfect.

Hey, I don’t think it will happen but why not start him? Perez in LF tomorrow?

I can pretty much guarantee this will happen.

I’d possibly start Lincecum tomorrow. No way I’d start Bumgarner. I’m not even sure I’d use Bum in relief. I am either in huge denial or a Stoic or a fatalist, but I am implausibly calm about all this. I wish Susac came in four innings earlier. And I blame Belt’s fielding more than Peavy’s pitching. That be may foolish or harsh, but that’s my view. G’night, girls.

Belt and Peavy IMO equally at fault. Peavy pointed and yelled to go home at Belt without even seeing the runner at third. That had to be a distraction to Belt. Then, Belt didn’t see Panik standing on 1B for a throw. Unfortunate…

Despite all of Suckland’s bombs, his ERA for the WS is better than every other pitcher we threw out there except Petit, who also came down to earth.

Is the time stamp off? Would make sense on a night when KC’s dunks landed outside the normal time-space continuum.

Well fuck. No way in hell I saw that coming. I truly expected the Giants to get 4-5 out of Peavy and for him to keep them in the game. Just pure failure in every aspect (pitching, defense, lack of hitting, etc.).

I have not caught up on the posts but I see talk about whether or not Bum goes tomorrow. I will be very surprised if he is not used. The big question is if Hudson gets the start. Bochy will use Bum. I shared a link earlier where he stated he would use him tonight (principally perhaps to get one key out).

My head is still spinning from that game.

Will be interesting to see if they can shake that serious ass-whoopin’ off and come out firing on all cylinders tomorrow.

The time stamp is totally fucked-up. Who deleted an entire post?

A tough loss. That said…My daughter brought a smile to my face. She is away at college. After it was 7-0 she sent my wife a text…”How’s dad holding up?” Love that kid!

That’s cool, sportdude. Gotta love it.

Watched post game. Bochy criticized for quick hook. Peavy had bad break on Belt play and a bloop. Ball down the line past Belt not hit hard either. I was too irritated by what was going on to notice. Anyone else see it that way?

    • chipower9's avatar chipower9 said, on October 28, 2014 at 10:11 pm

Criticized for an “early hook?” I don’t see it. Peavy was at I think 1.1 IP, but to me it was obvious he just did not have it. And I will say again, I truly expected a decent start from him tonight. As hard as it will be they just have to shake that shit off and go get ’em tomorrow.

Flav, I have to admit too…I really want this one too. All postseason I kept saying one game at a time to keep myself sane probably. But now with game 7 here, I want the win so fracking bad!!
