Give It To Me
God dammit. This post season finally got to me. I’ve spent each series trying to convince myself that I’m just happy to be here. I’ve kept my celebrations muted. I’ve avoided expectations. I’ve been more like “Painfully Awkward Rob Lowe” than the ebullient Big Flavor.
But with but one win to go, I can no longer keep this charade up. I want what is rightfully ours. I want another flag flying at the top of Flap Mountain.
And make no mistake about it, these championships are as much for us as they are the players. There is no flag without the fans. With each championship we bank, our identity gets stronger, our head nod gets tighter and the supernova burns its brightest yet.
Enjoy all of it, FU. Let’s go get our 3rd in Five….
Is there a mulligan in a WS game?…
Where the fuck is Timmy?
Duck in heavy. What a turn
Just go Timmy to finish, use Huddy and Bum tomorrow. Good to go.
Agree. All hands on deck for tomorrow.
Fuck, I’m going to start thinking about work way too early tonight.
Disregard the above post obviously
Might as well give Todd Welenmeyer an inning now.Jesus, that was such a brutal inning..
Who wouldn’t wanna win a game 7…relax….Huddy gets rewarded for all his years…
Still a lot of innings to play. I wont be surprised at all if they come back against this chump. Second time around in earlier AL postseason, he was solved.
I mean, that was just a stupid inning. Belt’s total gaffe, plus 9 times out of 10 he gets to that ball down the line that Moose hit. Dukey fucking hits. There was like one really hard hit ball off Peavy that inning. Must be destined to go 7….
Shut the fuck up about the Kansas City speed, you motherfucking retard.
Wow. This isn’t making me feel much better about Hudson tomorrow. What an implosion. Espn radio is Cummings all over themselves
KC got a few lucky ass hits there, but Peavy was throwing very hit table stuff, so was petit…
E-40 looks like he’ s keeping the faith back there.
Nice intel on that one, Sarge!
Can E-40 pitch?
Hey, it’s early. Get 4 runs, somebody hits a bomb, and these KC dudes will start to grip…
The time is now, Buster.
Time is so fleeting.
Let’s get Ventura out of there and put that pen to work.
Or not. Fucking Posey!
Put in Panik.
Ooop, meant Susac.
? He’s in now…
Let the cursing begin…
Our main man Posey.
Go Giants
Buster is a bust. First pitch hacking again.
The guy is struggling with his control. How do you not make him throw a strike there?
If we don’t see Timmeh now, then why is he on the roster?
Unless Bochy thinks Lincecum is going to be the Game 7 savior. Other than that it makes no sense why he would burn the rest of the pen. Maybe he wants Machi to go 3 or 4 as he is probably low man in the pen right now. I hope that is the thought.
I hope Buster comes to play tomorrow, cause he sure isn’t doing much so far.
Time for me to step away. Even the boys I coached in little league know you can’t swing at the 1st pitch there. If you do you better fucking rip it. Are you kidding me?
Just can’t believe that AB for Posey, after Panik had a beauty, milking 12 pitches to load em up and he hacks at the 1st pitch for a DP?that wasn’t even a good pitch especially since Ventura walked the base loaded and was clearly falling apart.
I said earlier Posey has to step up– he isn’t …
Seriously, machi over timmeh? I don’t get it…
And, there goes another run; machi is crap…
Well I guess its better than losing in the 15th on a walk off.
Have to think Bochy is going make Machi and Lincecum finish this mess. Save everyone else for tomorrow.
This whole series has been like this. We look like we are clearly the better team and the KC comes back.
Grind it out, or at least catch a fly ball now and then.
I mean we have Peavy, Petit and Machi, how can they be getting runs?
Machi has great stats though…lulz. Sigh.
I think Boch just took a flier on Machi in a game that was over. Kill innings. THen tomorrow, he’s got Huddy, Bum and Timmy accessible. 2-3 innings each? But now that Machi has smoked pole, that might be viable.
Man, what a cruddy game. Good thing it’s only Game 6. Get it all out of your system tonight, boys.
If we transplant Bumgarner’s right arm to his left,”He starts tomorrow’s game”.
Well, it’s pretty hard to feel a high confidence level with Hudson tomorrow. The KC starting pitcher won’t be a world-beater, either, though.
Wonder if he burns Timmy tonight. There are still 5 innings to kill.
That was like an Amy G. segment. I expect better from Erin.
Another golden opportunity to make a disgustingly tasteless remark that I am passing up…
I think he has no choice.
In regards to pitching Lincecum tonight.
Whoa, did you hear that from Joe Buck? When asked if his World Series seat could be sold, he responded, “everybody in SF would chip in.” What’s that all about?
yeah, what did that mean? By the way, you keep going into my filter tonight for some reason. I tightened it up a bit to keep out the idiots. I’m going to send you a link to be an “author” that will allow you to edit your posts but it will also mean you won’t go into my filter anymore. So, look for that.
How many innings do you think Strickland has in him?
Don’t think they’ll want to use him tomorrow in a tight spot…
truth be told as a giant person all my life the first two Championships came way too easy this one’s going to be so much sweeter a game 7
At least the Fox ratings will suck agian.
Buck was making a snarky reference to the fact that a lot of Giants fans don’t like him, but the reality is a lot of baseball fans don’t like him, so it was wrong of him to single out Giants fans. He should have said something like “There’s a lot of folks who would pay to get me out of this seat.” But he took his opportunity to stick it to us Giants fans with the Giants down 9-0. He knew exactly what he was doing.
thanks. Now I get it.
I don’t really hate Buck anymore. I feel like he’s called a real good PS for these games and his call on Ishi’s HR was better than Miller’s (IMO).
I think he was just having fun with the fact that he knows Giants fans don’t like him but the Giants are in the WS so it was a topical joke.
Tim Duncan has made 224 million in his career. That blows my mind. #thingsyoudowhenyourteamisgettingexectuedingame6
Anyone remember Brad Millard aka “Big Continent” from St. Mary’s years ago? In the NCAA tourney, I was sitting down by the floor when Millard drop-stepped and 2 hand jammed right over top of Duncan twice in like 3 minutes. No juke about it whatsoever–just fucking overpowered Duncan.
there’s an old adage in baseball when you score a lot of runs you can’t score the day after let’s see that hold
It’s all on the offense and Hudson to have the Giants in front before turning it over to the regular pen guys in their usual roles tomorrow night. Timmy’s a prayer, Bum’s gotta be on fumes and Petit could be fried as well…
You’re not painting a pretty picture Loo!
Wrong Loo…the main bp guys are definitely in play and ready to go
Isn’t that what I said?
Yes it is i did not read your statement right
Weird. Seriously, last night before going to bed (Tue. night here, Tue. morning in the US), I thought to myself, I just don’t want to wake up to the game in the 3rd inning and the G’s down 7-0.. I couldn’t believe it when that’s exactly what happened. Maybe it was just a premonition after getting pissed at Peavy for his joking about going to the Cubs when he was about to take the mound to bring it home for SF. Whatever. James, you called this one, the see-saw effect of this Series… which should bode well for game 7 if it follows suit. No one will remember this game if we win game 7. Should be dramatic as hell with Hudson on the mound. Put up zeros early on the KC side, score a couple early, and let Bochy manage the gang to the finish line. I’m ok with that. Oh, and Dirt and Loo, great Shawshank references earlier….
so how does tomorrow’s game look in your thoughts?
Right now, Craig, I’m feeling perfectly fine that game 6 went this way and that Huddy will indeed pitch what will literally and figuratively be the game of his life. But I’ll let you know if that changes before bedtime tonight… 🙂
Sweet. now I can sleep soundly tonight. 🙂
A lousy game, and I get to watch political commercials that lie. Some of the same lies that were told in the ’12 elections, and exhumed like zombies. Really, if the American public can be fooled by this kind of thing, then we get the government we deserve. My Congressman has done absolutely nothing for the people in my district, but he’ll probably get re-elected.
If the ad attacks unions, the power of politicians, or trial lawyers, I know it’s a lie and vote the opposite.
how about doctors who, apparently, are high as fuck all the time? lqtm….
Gotta luv those radio ads on constantly against Prop 45 or 46, whatever. Vote NO! against those special interests. Said quickly at the end — “This ad paid for” Blue Shield, Blue Cross, Doctors and Hospital groups, etc — oh, your basic grass roots folks, sure…
Reynolds thinks Bum’s a certainty to appear tomorrow night…
Reynolds is no dummy.
Bum is coming in at some point unless it’s a blowout one way or the other…
Bochy would never do it, but I bet some managers would start his ass tomorrow. He will have had 3 days rest–right? Didn’t Beckett throw a complete game shutout to clinch the series against the Yanks on 3 days rest?
Just 2 days rest after pitching a complete game shutout. I don’t think we see him. I think it’s all up to Huddy, Timmy and the rest of the pen.
3 days rest, no?
It’s considered 2 days but it’s almost 72 hours. That’s another reason why I favored using him in 1-4-7.
The 3 days rest is really almost 4…
Agree. But also just as importantly up to the hitters to actually, you know, hit and score runs. Do that early, and everything should be ok…. They got their stinker out of their systems in game 6….
Tonight God Bless America will be sung by Steve Earle.
Kidding.
Speaking of Steve Earle, he and Allison Moorer are getting divorced. This will be Earle’s 6th or 7th divorce, depending on how many times you want to count the wife he married twice.
Jose Canseco shot himself in the hand so there’s that.
Wow, blew off his middle finger…
How will he write his next exposé?
lol. really? I’m surprised he hasn’t blown off more fingers, toes, cock, head…over the course of his lifetime.
Darwin at work.
Strickland’s 6th (!) HR allowed in the playoffs. That’s…..actually I don’t know what that is.
Everything about the guy is great, except for the fact that he gives up a home run to roughly every third batter he faces.
lqtm…
If he’s on the team next year they can re-name McCovey Cove “Strick Land”…
solid gold.
allegro brilliante [also the name of the ballet by Balanchine my daughter just starred in]
Strickland serving up the rocket launch sounds about right for this game. What do they say? Better to lose a laugher than a close one or some shit like that?
Yes, that one actually felt kind of good in a kind of gestalt-therapy sort of way. Earlier I was sort of hoping Strickland would give up another bomb and Buster would hit a meaningless extra base hit, just to sort of round out the evening. Did Buster hit a double and I missed it? I’m radio and TV silent right now and only occasionally glancing at the tellie.
total super gestalty-type shit tonight. Well said.
Screw Steve Balboni’s nickname “Bye By”
That honor goes to Hunter “Bye By Strickland now.
Guess the kid couldn’t stand being tied for the most bombs ever in the postseason,he wanted the record!
more shit that’s keeping my attention away from this debacle. This is funny shit if you watch it enough times
I still can’t stop laughing at this….
Strickland is a guy who can throw a hundy, with location, and that’s about all he can do. You can work with that. Raggs can have a field day with that.
But at this point, he’s not ready for this stage……
Play 500 on the road and win a championship Knock me over with a feather if isn’t 3 in 5 tomorrow.
Vogey with the mop!
Forgot all about him…
pretty classy the Giants not mopping up with Lincecum wouldn’t you say
Flav, I filled out the wordpress thing, I hope I did it right.
Vogey told Bochy he would be ready to come in at any time if needed. Not sure this is what he had in mind.
LOL
ha, I remember him saying that and thinking, “Um, yeah….thanks for the offer dawg. Don’t call me, I’ll call you…”
So is the fat chick in the big blue glasses, sitting next to Marlin man his date or is she trying to upstage him?
I dunno, but according to the text I got from my Dodger-fan friend, he was wearing those glasses earlier. He is frustrated that guy doesn’t bother me, so he keeps pointing out annoying things he does.
I have no problem with Marlin Guy.
Tomorrow is a must-win game.
that’s called finishing, dawg. That’s what we needed tonight!
One to go. Bring the magic and get em tomorrow, Giants.
C’mon…this wacky ride we’ve been on this series, this month, this SEASON—it had to end in a Game 7.
Bring it on.
Bochy is saving Timmeh for tomorrow. How can that make any sense? I dunno. He did look OK in those two innings before he got hurt. They basically haven’t seen him this series. Maybe there’s some magic that’s going to happen. As Lon used to say, what a story it would be — if Huddy and Timmeh combined to get it done for the Ring. Bum makes an appearance, too, for sure. I’m digging now that this blowout happened, the Giants will win this and beat the odds. Now, for my third glass of Syrah…
One thing’s for sure, Peavy and his guitar ain’t comin’ back for 2015. Sweet Home Chicago, whatever for him. No Voggy, either. We’re gonna need 2 starters…
I still think Lincecum gets a shot at the 5 but agree with you on Peavy. I had no confidence in him heading into this game.
Remember in ’01 when Randy Johnson pitched late in the 7th game? Save situation? Extra innings? I can’t remember exactly. It’s the only time I can remember a similar situation. I doubt Bum will pitch unless it’s like that. And I can remember only the ’75 Reds winning game 7 after losing game 6. Was that back in the day when they actually went back to the other park for just game 7? Can’t remember exactly that, either. Any way you look at it, the Giants will be “bucking” the trend to win game 7. Which makes it absolutely perfect.
Hey, I don’t think it will happen but why not start him? Perez in LF tomorrow?
I can pretty much guarantee this will happen.
I’d possibly start Lincecum tomorrow. No way I’d start Bumgarner. I’m not even sure I’d use Bum in relief. I am either in huge denial or a Stoic or a fatalist, but I am implausibly calm about all this. I wish Susac came in four innings earlier. And I blame Belt’s fielding more than Peavy’s pitching. That be may foolish or harsh, but that’s my view. G’night, girls.
Belt and Peavy IMO equally at fault. Peavy pointed and yelled to go home at Belt without even seeing the runner at third. That had to be a distraction to Belt. Then, Belt didn’t see Panik standing on 1B for a throw. Unfortunate…
Despite all of Suckland’s bombs, his ERA for the WS is better than every other pitcher we threw out there except Petit, who also came down to earth.
Is the time stamp off? Would make sense on a night when KC’s dunks landed outside the normal time-space continuum.
Well fuck. No way in hell I saw that coming. I truly expected the Giants to get 4-5 out of Peavy and for him to keep them in the game. Just pure failure in every aspect (pitching, defense, lack of hitting, etc.).
I have not caught up on the posts but I see talk about whether or not Bum goes tomorrow. I will be very surprised if he is not used. The big question is if Hudson gets the start. Bochy will use Bum. I shared a link earlier where he stated he would use him tonight (principally perhaps to get one key out).
My head is still spinning from that game.
Will be interesting to see if they can shake that serious ass-whoopin’ off and come out firing on all cylinders tomorrow.
The time stamp is totally fucked-up. Who deleted an entire post?
A tough loss. That said…My daughter brought a smile to my face. She is away at college. After it was 7-0 she sent my wife a text…”How’s dad holding up?” Love that kid!
That’s cool, sportdude. Gotta love it.
Watched post game. Bochy criticized for quick hook. Peavy had bad break on Belt play and a bloop. Ball down the line past Belt not hit hard either. I was too irritated by what was going on to notice. Anyone else see it that way?
Criticized for an “early hook?” I don’t see it. Peavy was at I think 1.1 IP, but to me it was obvious he just did not have it. And I will say again, I truly expected a decent start from him tonight. As hard as it will be they just have to shake that shit off and go get ’em tomorrow.
Flav, I have to admit too…I really want this one too. All postseason I kept saying one game at a time to keep myself sane probably. But now with game 7 here, I want the win so fracking bad!!
