25 Games in the Books. Who is Our MVP?
Five starts into the season, Tim Lincecum has the lowest ERA of any of the starters on the staff (2.40). While not the strongest of sample sizes it’s certainly not the weakest. It got me to wondering who are MVP is so far this year. Timmy would and absolutely should get a few 2nd and 3rd place votes. But who is #1? Aoki? Heston? My dark horse: Pagan. Or does Brandon Crawford strike your fancy? He leads the team in home runs and RBI’s. Who called that?
I’d probably go Heston and Pagan tied for first place…

interesting news clipping someone found—25 years ago, top salaries at each position. I find it hilarious that the Brewers and A’s made up 33% of the list.

To celebrate Steph’s MVP win I thought it would be fun to go back and look over the players picked ahead of him. Favorite thing: Minnesota took not one but TWO point guards in front of him. Hilarious.
Yeah, this might be the worst defensive game we’ve seen from Belt. He’s whiffing badly on throws he usually picks.
Such is modern baseball. The pitch-count got the pitcher who’s throwing a 2-hitter.
Not that I’m disagreeing with the move. Bochy takes great care of his pitchers, and it’s paid off big-time, obviously.
Yep…it was time.
I agree with yanking him.
Vintage lights-out Romo. His smile said it all. He knows his stuff was awesome tonight.
Love Romo’s energy…
No comment . . . It would just be piling on. 🙂
Ballgame!
Nice win…even with the FOUR errors! Some times you just have to laugh. They all look the same in the W column.
G’s and Bummie on a roll. Helloooo .500!
I was just saying in the last week or so, that the next milestone I wanted to see the team hit was .500. This is like seven wins in a row at home. Good pitching and some nice D overcame some VERY SHODDY D…but they got the win…Giants baseball, baby!
Even with the error tonight (and the great pick up the middle), Crawdaddy is playing lights out in the field. This might be his big push for his first Gold Glove
Agree LJ…see my earlier comments. If he keeps it up, he will deserve the GG.
Don’t look now but SF a 1/2 game out of the 2nd wild card:)
LMAO…that’s great…
Good night, ladies. Make it an awesome Tuesday.
Giants take a Flyer and pass the Friars tomorrow!
Speaking of yeoman above, here is yeoman Janice Rand of Star Trek fame, just passed.
Last time the Gyros made 4 errors and won in a shutout was 1933…
They won the World Series that year. 🙂
I’m starting to agree that Belt has to get it together, soon.
As for McDP, this guy just needs to sit, or DLed. Wow. Another error (5 now, total) and of course the patented HIDP; OH for 3, now at .181. He’s a DP MACHINE. At this rate, he’ll hit into 50+ DPs, unless he’s cut first, or traded for a Santa Cruz surfboard…
Bum with another stellar start…
The question regarding D2X’s decision to bring in Hatcher….he didn’t make the decision, he had been thrown out of the game earlier, arguing about a balk call against Kershaw. Some second-in-command guy made the questionable decision to bring in arguably the worst reliever in the Dodger bullpen to try to put out a fire and save Kershaw’s game.
That error in the 9th on Belt, I’ll give him 60% of it, Casilla gets 40% for a crap throw high, slow and way off the bag towards the stands. Belt took his eye off the ball looking for the runner because of the lollipop throw, still should have caught it with plenty of time to tag the bag. Being a Gyros pitcher known for their butchery in fielding skills, Casilla muffed the EZ throw to first…
