KC in 6

I almost said KC in 5 but decided to give myself some leeway. Predictions are stupid. What’s yours? And you’re not allowed to predict rain. Or this:

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/yoenis-cespedes-and-the-mike-trout-treatment/ Somewhat interesting article. If journalists can generate analysis like this, just imagine what the teams’ brain trusts develop. I would love to see the scouting reports prepared for tonight’s game. Remember game 7 last year, 9th inning I believe–how Wotus positioned Perez near the line and in, and Juan easily nabbed Aoki’s slap into LF?

Lmao at the video. My seven year old loves the Rocky films. For the last couple of years he has said he wants to be a boxer when he grows up. I could just taking him to a boxing gym in Houstons fourth ward. His skinny Caucasian , strawberry blonde haired self walking thru those doors. Now that would be funny.

  14. willedav's avatar willedav said, on October 27, 2015 at 12:10 pm

According to cbs site, if game got rained out there would be no travel off day and teams would play 5 days in a row. Wow that would sure change pitching match ups, but I guess Fox is calling the shots.

Poor Andres, his time with Mets wasn’t good and then when he came back to SF he just couldn’t regain form.
Fun to watch in that first go round tho.

Chi, definitely go see Richard Thompson in concert. The word genius gets thrown around a lot, but Thompson is a guitar genius. And a great songwriter, too. Some people aren’t as in to his singing voice, but I like his voice. It has kind of a Celtic quality to it that I like. I think he’s the whole deal, songwriting and performance. But especially his guitar-playing. He blows my mind every time I see him in concert, and I’ve seen him many times in concert. I’m not seeing this tour because it’s coming through right as I’m going to the Fillmore next week to see Patty Griffin perform. I’m not going to be able to fit two concert trips in during the next week or so.

    • djloo27's avatar djloo27 said, on October 27, 2015 at 12:19 pm

    • chipower9's avatar chipower9 said, on October 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm

I have seen him before, solo and acoustic, and I agree whole-heartedly with your synopsis. (And I like his voice, too.) And you are right…he is amazing on the guitar…I believe he was voted best acoustic guitarist on at least one occasion.

Great to read all the Richard Thompson talk here. I got into him back in high school in the early ’70s. WMMR out of Philly played a lot of great music back then, including a lot of Fairport Convention. I fell in love with Sandy Denny’s voice and the band’s acoustic and electric British folk stuff. Even got into the Child Ballads, compilations of folk stories and songs, many of which Fairport did. Tamlin, Matty Grove, etc. At one point, I had every Fairport, Sandy Denny, and Richard Thompson album ever recorded. Don’t anymore, but fond memories of a lot of great music. Saw Richard a few times, both with Fairport and solo (and with ex-wife Linda, during their Hokey Pokey era). Just tremendous stuff… enjoy if you go, guys!
