A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

What In the World Ever Became of Sweet Jane?

“Busted down on Bourbon Street, Set up like a bowling pin…..”

There is one Flapper who gets to strut around and say he knew it all along, and that Flapper is the great and storied WILLIED.

Dee Gordon got taken to the woodshed for PED’s and now last season makes a lot more sense. I wonder what his hitting coach has to say about this? lqtm.

The Giants are in NY for a very difficult series vs a solid Mets club. Matz? deGrom? Thor? Jesus, those are 3 studs lined up and we counter tonight with fucking Peavy.

Do we have any New York Flappers storming the gates this weekend?

Heard Finnerty’s owner on KNBR this morning. He says they’ll be 160 strong in section 138 today. All wearing orange shirts and loud as fuck.

Peavy did okay in his last start. Matz has been struggling early. So that part may be a bit of a toss-up. Meanwhile Giants hitters have just fattened up on Dagos’ pitching, formed nice congalines and may have gotten back in tune. Game two’s matchup scares me. Sunday brings the battle of the aces. So we should win one, have a chance at two and make this a well-contested series.

Kruk was on KNBR this morning telling us not to look at Cain’s ERA and that he’s actually pitching great. And that it was a huge accomplishment to beat the Padres who can beat anyone anytime. SMH. Kruk is just hilarious……

Are teams putting PED clauses into players contracts that void a contract if the player get’s caught? Nope. Until it happens (which I don’t think it will anytime soon) it’s only going to get worse. We’re about to see a second huge resurgence of PED allegations. Great article in USA Today on Collabello this week in which Victor Conte spoke of some of these new drugs (really good ones) which only stay in your system for a few hours. Too many idiot ballplayers that won’t be able to follow the directions on the label.

Agree with Peavy on the road getting hammered. Though for some unseen reason in the force the Giants usually play pretty well in NY, so I could see a win tonight in a comeback capacity..

The PED cloud continues to hang over baseball because…..they work! And the players fully know it. That enticing forbidden fruit is always hanging within reach. Even after getting caught, the players often still benefit from a PED-aided huge contract.

It doesn’t look good on paper for the Giants this weekend, but the Giants have been defeating paper in even-numbered years lately.
And…..that’s why they play the games. Baseball has the infinite capacity to surprise. 🙂

Exactly. Non-issue, e.g., which one of us or for that matter, which baseball media expert picked us to win in 2010? 2012? 2014? I’m continuously surprised by what happens in baseball or life.

  10. zumiee's avatar zumiee said, on April 29, 2016 at 9:14 am

I doubt Kruk and Kuip will do much moralizing about PEDs tonight. They can’t, until they’re willing to say something about Bonds, and to my knowledge, they’ve never done that. They continue to wax eloquently about the amazing home-run accomplishments of Bonds, and pretend the whole PED-thing doesn’t exist in Bonds’ legacy. It’s pretty silly the way K&K ignore that elephant in the room regarding Bonds.
