Jake v Jake
Arrieta vs Peavy tonight. Jesus. Well, at least Peavy pitches decent at home, he was good last time out and the Cubs hitters, frankly, are in a bit of a funk lately. None of that will help us hit Arrieta who is coming into town as the most dominant pitcher in either league right now. You could certainly argue Sale or Kershaw, hell you could pick 3 guys on our staff and I wouldn’t vehemently argue with you, but Arrieta has been flat-dominant for going on 2 years now. I have no idea how we win this game tonight but won’t be surprised if we find a way……
As good as the Cubs have been to date and as good as Arrieta happens to be, this does not happen to be the worst of all possible times to face them ~ at home and on a roll after that historic road-sweep. In many respects this team seems to be jelling. Perhaps the outliers are Pagan and most particularly, Duffy. Nice to see both Panik with his four for 4 last night and Crawford rediscovering his power-stroke.
My biggest gripe with Bochy is his very loyalty to his players, where he appears to not want to upset their routines by shuffling the lineup. Duffster desperately needs to get outta the hotseat. Yes, Panik had those four hits last night and neither drove in a run nor scored one. A fair portion of the latter has to do with the fact that Duffy’s bat is ice cold right now. Drop him to 8th and run Belt up to the 3-hole. A nicely warmed up Span followed by heating up Panik and then OBP maestro BB9 should be just the ticket for Buster to get back into the RBI business on a regular basis. With Pence and Crawford following Posey, that array could mount up to a starter’s nightmare.
dropping him to 8th will just cause him more problems. He’s not going to see strikes down there. And I pointed this out last night, his line drive rate is 25%. That is a huge number and a definite sign that he’s been extremely unlucky this year. I’d leave him where he is, he’s proven he can hit at this level and baseball players are all creatures of habit. Fucking with the line up will just make things worse.
I agree with Flav on this one. I have mentioned numerous times on the past several threads that I am not worried about Panik, DuffMan, or Crazy Horse. These guys are all streaky (hell, almost ALL hitters are streaky). With an eight game win streak, now is not the time to be experimenting with the LU, IMO.
If that (Bochy’s loyalty to his players and not wanting to shuffle the deck chairs) is his biggest flaw, I will take what he brings every day, and twice on Sunday.
Okay, you hold the liners ~ 7th then. It’s every much about Belt as it is about Duffy. Probably the majority of Belt “haters” on the Flap are better categorized as suffers from disappointed expectations. BB9 strikes me as an effectively if not a psychologically indifferent RBI man. Look at the stats, guys. But he is a demon for getting on base, starting rallies and extending the conga-line. Other side of the ticket is that batting deeper in the lineup, Duffy will get and maximize the Ribeye opportunities while under a lesser compulsion to constantly perform.
Stix – absolutely see your point, but I still would keep the LU status quo for the time being. And this has nothing to do with my thoughts on Belt. While I ribbed about Belt in the past, I have always been in his corner.
We’ve proven we don’t need to get hits to score runs. ~Flan
Morley Safer passed away one week after retiring from 60 Minutes. Grew up with him and 60 Minutes. RIP.
Yes. RIP. I am a big 60 Minutes and Safer fan.
All our lives we sweat and save;
Building for a shallow grave.
(How could a 25 year old know this?)
2012 World Series Game 1, Zito vs. Verlander, didn’t look good on paper either. 🙂
Great point, Zume.
Michelson caught insider trading. The guy is worth 200 million and he’s trading on inside info? Info from a guy he owes gambling debt? Yeah, Phil was an innocent bystander. Screw him…
and for some unknown reason he won’t be facing charges, he just has to pay back the million. That is SO FUCKED UP
Yep. Martha Stewart did time…Phil should, at a minimum, have to do the same at one of those “country club prisons.”
When your on a 7 game roll you find a way to keep it going!
We beat Grienke didn’t we? He never lost to us before, so as Pat Travers sings ” It makes no difference” which I will blare on my vinyl tonight pre game to help get in the right frame of mind to take down Arrieta tonight!!
And after the Giants notch the W, queue up Pat Travers BOOM BOOM (Out go the Lights).
Sounds good Chi!
Did see Pat Travers at the Old Waldorf and he was on fire, great venue 2 drink minimum which of course I easily exceeded!
Taj Mahal excellent my man, did see them at Winterland back in the days another excellent show!
Bet you enjoyed your gig!
Kat – yes, I saw Pat Travers a couple of times in some small clubs in Sacramento back in the 80s. Great shows each time. And yes, Taj was in fine form last night. He is not touring with a three-piece band (The Taj Mahal Trio) that is him a bass player and a drummer. They were fantastic.
Agree with Flav about Duffy. Flav goes into the “weeds” so to speak, because he is a DFS player. So does WilcoJoe and myself. Here’s why DFS players like Duffy:
1. Great contact rate of 87%.
2. Great 0.59 BB/K rate (indicative of plate discipline).
3. Great 12.4% K rate (indicative of plate discipline).
Obviously, his BA (.233) and BABIP (.259) are not reflecting his overall excellent contact rate and plate discipline . . . Which brings me back to Flav’s point – he’s been a bit unlucky. That being said, he’s facing Arrieta, a right hander and right handers (e.g., Duffy) get slaughtered by Jake. Actually, lefties do too, just less so. Anywho, there’s a good chance Matt will again fail tonight.
good points. And I won’t be playing any Giants this evening for obvious reasons but I still want to see Duffy in his spot. He’s going to come out of this. I’d be a lot more worried if he wasn’t hitting the ball hard. 25% line drives tho, that’s hard.
Holy shit! You boys were burning up the keys last night…308 posts. I will have to wade back through the comments for any missed nuggets.
I was out of pocket with another concert last night. We saw Taj Mahal. Great show! Did follow Los Gigantes and Los Tiburones via my phone when I could. Great night of sports in the Bay Area of Greatness.
Well, if we are going to beat Arrieta, our boys better bring their smoke and mirrors.
Lifetime against our Giants:
3-1 in four starts. 26.2 IP, 1.69/0.900. 18 H, 5 ER, 1 HR, 6 BB, 23 Ks. I say he is prime for a supreme ass-whoopin’ at the hands of our red hot Giants.
Is the media calling this the Two Jakes game?
I agree with Kat, they’re on an 8 game streak, they have to find a way to keep that shit going. Making Arrieta 7-1 sounds like a good idea to me.
If anything just swap Duffy and Belt. Or move Duff to 6 and bump the rest of the guys up. Belt’s OPB is .412 to Duff’s .292. Sure some of that is walks, but still I think we’d be getting more runs across the plate with Belt higher in the lineup.
Christ, what is weird is the supposed biggest RBI spots in the line up, 3, and 4, Duff and Buster, are sucking balls at 11 and 15 RBIs. Fucking Pagan batting 9th, and playing 11 less games, has more RBIs than Duff.
At some point he needs to drop in the LU. I know Buster is locked into cement in the 4 hole, but Christ, 15 RBIs?
“At some point . . . ”
Perhaps later Chuck, but not now while in an 8 game winning streak. Bochy is not going to upset the apple cart while things are going good (nor would I). If we tailspin, then yeah – maybe shake things up a bit.
I don’t buy that. When you are getting squadoosh from one of the big RBI spots in the lineup, you need to do something about it. Buster isn;t going anywhere, but Duffy needs to drop.
Not to sound like a Manson girl, but “Right on, Charlie…..right on!”
Yeah, there’s waaaaay too much money behind Buster to bust him off cleanup. But a constant clamor on the bases which a Span-Panik-Belt combination would essentially ensure (check those OBP stats) would segue nicely into the time of year when Posey usually warms up at the plate. The “don’t switch horses in the middle of the stream” of wins may hold some water theoretically, so let’s check the theory vs tonight’s results.
Good Jake / Bad Jake?
Well that should be will the Giants get the Good J. peavy or the Bad
To Blade and Loo and anyone else that put together trivia games last night, thanks! That was fun.
The POTD really sums it up.
It’s nice that the gang here plays it straight when the answers are just a couple of clicks away…
I get Pat Travers and Robin Trower confused. (Much like I get Jim Bunning and Jim Maloney confused) I saw one of those guys perform in a Target parking lot maybe 10 years ago for a Saint Pat’s day celebration hosted by an Irish bar in the same mall. It was a good show.
Musta been Pat Travers. Snorting Whiskey and drinking cocaine . . .
What a bizarre, but understandable outfield shift the Padres had going against Duffy in this series. Two rightfielders and no centerfielder, basically. I love Duffy’s opposite field approach, it’s what makes him special, BUT a hitter does need to make adjustments sometimes. If he could drive some balls to the middle of the outfield, it would open up rightfield for him again.
Wee Willie Keeler had some advice for the Duffster: “Hit em where they ain’t”.
Here’s the trifecta to go along with the question Loo asked and the one I asked. In fact, it is related to my question last night – Which player has the best percentage ratio of homers to strike outs EVER for a league leader?
Hint – HE ONLY STRUCK OUT 9 TIMES AND PLAYED IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE.
I gotta get back to work, but I’ll throw Rogers Hornsby out there one more time before I leave, and follow that up with a Nap Lajoie and a Tony Lazzeri, just for the helluva it!
Excellent guesses Dog . . . All great hitters, but no.
Gotta be an old-timer…
Honus Wagner?
Yep, but not too old. Forget about the 1800s, 1910s, 1920s, 1930s . . .
Ha! Good point. I don’t know what I was thinking about Wagner. He was pre-live ball era, when there were few HRs hit.
Can I recycle an answer from last night? Mize?
The Giants three top starting pitchers have been doing great, obviously; and I would have to say, for pure STUFF, that Smarge has the best, overall. He gets wicked movement on his pitches. The challenge for him is to control the pitches, and he’s been doing that better lately. Cueto has the best control. And I think Bum has the best balance of stuff and control of the three, although Cueto’s close. All three have been great. We just need .500 ball from the 40 percenters, and we are good to go!
Or even .400 from the 40 percenters gets it done. 🙂
OK….I take .350 in a pinch!
So they would literally live up to their nickname…
Yes! Great point!
“Flav goes into the “weeds” so to speak, because he is a DFS player.”
Yeah, I’m still marveling at “Visual Memory Index” and “roof status.”
I’m now expecting “Players’ Calorie Intake At Breakfast algorithm.” 🙂
VMI was $ again last night. Yanks had the worst VMI number on the board and Graveman, who is usually totally unplayable, turned in a very serviceable start last night—significantly better than Harvey, Gray or Wacha, 3 way more expensive players—probably the best his underwhelming ass is capable of…….
Zum, no on Wagner.
Yeah, I don’t know what I was thinking. He was pre-live ball era. Before Ruth started jacking balls out of Yankee Stadium.
By the way, is it a little suspicious that, right after the Black Sox scandal of 1919, when MLB needed positive news about the sport, that the ball suddenly became lively, and Ruth became a national hero by hitting HRs? Sound familiar to another era in baseball history?
Gotta get my day started, but if anyone knows – just leave me a shout here.
VMI update tonight: Arizona has the worst number on the board (-7.66) for hitters and Washington (+7.80), Miami (+8.65) and Houston (+8.08) have the best. These numbers should just be used as a guide along with other factors, I wouldn’t ever solely base a team off of them.
Let’s see if we can’t knock that fuck Arrieta off of his perch. He’s due for a good shelling.
Seems like pitchers who suddenly get great out of nowhere aren’t subject to the same PED suspicion as hitters, although they probably get caught just as often if not more…
Well, that leaves out the splendid splinter. I don’t know too many of the old timey guys.
Honus Wagner?
Non baseball trivia….Cher is turning 70!!
Unbelievable…Reggie Jackson, too I heard.
Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves always reminds me of the 1971 Giants…
Roger Maris?
Somebody said old .. But not too old right? 40’s, 50’s, 60’s … The sixties are half a century ago .. That must qualify.
Heyyyyy!!! That was a short half-century and i WAS and in some ways still AM the 60’s. Add mid-50’s to mid-70’s and ya get the best music in town ~ and some other things too.
I’m hoping the last 3 superb starter performances feed Peavy a host of adrenaline and make him feel like as a meaningful statesman of the team. In any case, is there any thoughts that the Cubs are feeling a little of the ghost of ’16 when they take the field tonight?….ahhhhhh…. The Phone fans will remind them…..
I’m preparing the whisky salute for the morning….
Breakfast of Champions!
I love beer on an empty stomach…
Beer in the morning works for me. On occasion, I even like a “red beer” after a rough night of drinking.
Beer, its not just for breakfast anymore!
Whiskey salute for the morning??? Shouldn’t that be a Bloody Mary absolute??
Hell! I can’t even look at a beer till after noon. Of course that goes with never having had as many as a half dozen katzenjammers in my career.
re: Zum’s 9:27 … Google Brian Tuohy’s ‘The Fix is In’ .. There was also a good Bleacher Report article by him awhile back.
Thanks; looks like an interesting book. I’ll check my local library for it. I usually check there first.
The major sports leagues have done a good job over the years, using whatever means necessary to make scandals sort of “disappear,” and turn the page, to convince the public these were “one offs.” The Black Sox, the NBA ref who shaved points, Spy-Gate, and on and on.
Baseball’s PED issue is an ongoing and ever-evolving situation. It’s hard to use the word “scandal” about it anymore, because it’s like it’s become accepted in the fan-base that there are ALWAYS going to be some players that are going to see if they can get away with it, because the stuff WORKS.
When the starters are all feeding off of each other and pushing themselves to perform it is really fun to watch this club. I don’t know how much stock to put into rolling the Fryers though.
As far as the LU goes, I agree with the idea of not messing with a good thing but it would be nice to see Crawford in the 6 spot and moving Duffy down and everyone else up would accomplish that.
Kruk was in top shelf fanboy form this morning. Smargy is on the edge of unlocking his cy young potential (he could be better than Arrieta), Peavy has figured it out in the last couple of starts. It was good stuff to lead into the series against the Cubs. Sometimes I really appreciate his unhinged homer approach.
Blade, I don’t have a name for your trivia trifecta but would guess it is a pitcher.
You got it with the “starters feeding off each other”. It seems to work with starting position players as well but maybe not quite so much with bench and bullies.
MLB always turns a blind eye to PEDs when it can. That’s the default mode. I was watching the MLB Network morning show the other day, and they mentioned Brady Anderson, and everyone on the panel started raving about what an awesome and unexplainable 50-HR season he had, as if the whole steroid scandal didn’t exist. Mindboggling and cowardly, really, from those broadcasters.
And I’ve mentioned before, K&K have never, to my knowledge, said a single thing about PEDs in regard to Bonds. They just rave and rave about his power feats like it’s an unexplainable marvel.
What do you mean zum? Both those guys put the work in over the off season and it paid off…
Giants are 17-8 over their last 25 games since April 22nd.
Humm baby!
Dirt, no on a pitcher (but definitely thinking outside the box). No on Maris. Unca, Honus was mentioned already, but no on him. The dude I am thinking of was a stud, who was overshadowed by other big name players of his era, who got more press than he did.
Big clues . . .
Also, at one time, he held the modern day NL consecutive game hitting streak before DiMaggio. He also signed his first professional contract with the New York Yankees, but could not break into their outfield of Joe DiMaggio, Tommy Henrich and Charlie Keller . . . and was traded.
Rod Carew?
No Sarge. Good guess.
No on Maris, eh? … Wow, this is a tough one Blade .. I recall the year Maris hit 61 he struck out not much more than that, maybe 65 times or so .. That seems like a pretty good SO to HR ratio … by comparison, Chris Davis must be good for close to a couple hundred SO in a year when he hits 40+ HR.
But you said this guy only had 9 SO, ever … That is freaking amazing! ……. I surrender! …. no wait …. I’ll think some more on it ……… hmm, ponder, ponder, ponder ….
hehehe
Like all y’all, I have tons of reasons to love baseball…
http://www.fox5ny.com/sports/143086527-story
That kid will never get rid of that ball.
Very cool.
that’s tremendous!
Well Blade, I was pretty sure I knew the hitting streak answer but never thought this guy would lead the league in homers. So I looked it up and he is the answer. Baseball stats were a little skewed during the WW2 years. This guy was an excellent hitter but not a home run hitter at all…
Somebody unexpected like George Sisler….or….Dick Groat?
He’s not really a big name but you always hear him mentioned when someone gets a long hitting streak going.
I think Pete Rose broke his NL record. Not positive…
No on Sisler or Groat Zum.
Yeah, he got overlooked a bit Loo . . . Also, he only played 10 years (but did come in 2nd place in MVP voting when he did the HR/walk ratio.
9 K’s in 714 PA that year. That is sick!
DiMaggio’s 13 Ks in 622 PA in 1941, the year of his streak, is mindblowing, too.
By the way, the perfect player to get a 56-game hitting streak was Joe DiMaggio. Hit for average and power. Struck out very little. Didn’t walk a super amount. Power is important because, obviously, an HR is the perfect hit to keep a streak going; there’s no fielder to catch it.
And, also, the era he played in was helpful. The opposing teams took it as a point of honor and respect for the game to pitch to him, and not just pitch around him and walk him a bunch of times to end the streak.
“… a point of honor and respect for the game …” Well stated Zum. No small wonder that I love baseball so much!
Big clue . . . He had someone’s (male) last name in the porn business. 🙂
But not Dick Groat….
lol. Nope.
Dirk Diggler?
No BB, but man, that Dirk Diggler had a great “baseball” name (which worked equally well for the movie he was portrayed in).
Few people remember that a very washed up Dick Groat ended his career as a Giant…
What do you think Loo? Should I reveal the name? Is the name too obscure?
Might as well, Blade. If not for the hitting streak, I probably never would have heard of him, although the porn clue oughtta do it…
OK guys . . . This was a toughie. Tommy Holmes, who hit 28 HRs and struck out only 9 times. Amazing feat, especially considering he had 714 ABs as Loo mentioned.
By the by, Holmes was in the top 30 in MVP voting 4 times. Again, an amazing accomplishment, considering that he only played 10 years.
Whoops. 11 years.
Cymbal crash .. Followed by Wah, Wah!
Hey! I just made up a joke … what name do you give to a baseball player, turned lawyer, turned holy man?
Drum roll please ……………….
Yogi Barrister!!!
You’re fucking killing me…tell us, already.
My one and only “pull it outta my ass guess”…Utley…
My friend Rainman just told me that the Halo’s GM is targeting somewhere in the June 9-19 timeframe for Timmy’s debut. And, it just happens the Angels visit Oakland for a three game set June 17-19.
SanDog would know better than I do, but if the Angels attendance is shitty, then it makes more sense that he will start at the Angels facility versus the mausoleum.
Sept 5,6 & 7 is the next scheduled visit for Angels @ A’s … If TL’s spot in rotation lines up or if he even lasts that long.
After the June games, that is.
Tommy Holmes??
Any relation to Hung like a horse John Holmes? Probably not,Tommy didn’t have that big of a stick..
Jim Ray Hart died yesterday: http://www.csnbayarea.com/giants/giants-mourn-passing-3b-jim-ray-hart
Favorite player of mine Mac. Great hitter, but poor 3rd baseman. I think he worked at Safeway as a warehouse man after retiring from baseball (in Mexican leagues) in 1975 or 1976. RIP Jim . . .
No LU changes for tonight … What is happening to Posey’s rbi ability? I agree with a shake up in the order but am not sure what it should be. I tend to agree with Stix .. Or was it Flav ..? .. that said putting Duff further down would not help because he wouldnt get much to hit, but it might take the heat off … Im feeling Posey needs some adjustment more than anyone .. How bout Posey hitting second followed by either Pence or Belt? eg. Span, Posey, Pence, Belt, Panik, Craw, Duff, Pagan, pitcher .. or pitcher 8th for those who like that.
For what it’s worth, Posey has gotten on base in 6 of his last 16 ABs.
Truly? Would not have thought that, but then again, wasn’t able to take in much of the last two in SD. Generally, he has been abysmal with risp so far which has been discussed here ad infinitum. He’ll come around, I’m sure … hoping it’ll be sooner than later
Damm not a good year to be a Giant 3rd basemen named Jim.
Grew up with both Jim Davenport& Jim Ray Hart manning the hot corner!
Deepest condolences to his family!
RIP Jimmy Ray..
And Bobby Etheridge who passed away last year was also a 3B and teammate of the 2 Jims.
Hart was a huge favorite of mine. Deserved more recognition from the team, but I think he shunned it.
There was something strange going on there…
Going to game tonight, upper reserved on LF line, courtesy of visiting relatives, the whole snarkkrew…
I am selling my mint condition BMW Z3 M Series Roadster . . . Anyone here or whom you know might be interested, here is the link . . . http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5596394132.html
Somebody flagged your ad. It was taken down.
Yeah, I am trying to figure it out (my first ad on Craig’s List in 5-6 years) and I just posted it about 20 minutes ago. Thanks Sarge.
lulz!
OK Sarge . . . Craig’s list flagged it because I included too much “dealer” mumbo jumbo jargon. I deleted all the spec shit and it should be viewable . . . http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5596453721.html
Sweet ride Blade.
Thanks . . . The M Series really moves compared to the other Z3s (0-60 MPH in 5.2 seconds).
I wonder if there’s room on the sleeve for another memorial patch for #16. Would love to hear McCovey’s recollections. Hart protected him in the lineup for years…
I think Hart is a top ten all-time SF Giant non-pitcher…
I was going to accuse you of overvaluing JRH more than a bit, but I just checked his numbers and was impressed— he had a real nice 5 year stretch. I officially endorse the patch idea. Does he have a plaque at ATT? He must.
“This is the cap of honor and remembrance”. It’s on the SF official site as well as that of the Twins. Wonder why. I do know that part of the military budget is used for direct propaganda campaigns in all ML sports.
Our ruptured Republic has turned into a neo-Roman imperium via the string-pulling of the central banksters. For them the U$ military has become their dobermans and pitbulls. Sad.
Does this mean you want Duffy to bat 7th?
lulz
Lulz is right! I almost spit my PBR right into my pulled pork sndwich on that one
POTD! Another Loo gem…
1. Denard Span (L) CF
2. Joe Panik (L) 2B
3. Matt Duffy (R) 3B
4. Buster Posey (R) C
5. Brandon Belt (L) 1B
6. Hunter Pence (R) RF
7. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
8. Jake Peavy (R) P
9. Angel Pagan (S) LF
I still vote to leave the LU the hell alone, for now. You guy just spin/trip, too much. Have a drink, make it a double, and relax and enjoy the ride.
Agree Chi, although there’s a lot to be said for our ruptured Republic turning into a neo-Roman imperium via the string-pulling of the central banksters and Duffy batting 7th.
Well, sit around on your thumbs if you want … just don’t come crying when our starting pitching returns to earth while the offense continues to struggle to Get ’em on, Move ’em over and Get ’em in.’
shuffling guys up and down the line up doesn’t happen in the major leagues because it doesn’t work…..
A 3.75 ERA is already a return to Earth from hangin’ in Hades
Bull Cookies! .. Jesus Flav, if any one knows that ain’t true it should be you .. Boch already had Duff hitting 6th this year .. AND he shuffled the deck -— much to the chagrin of many Flappers — like a riverboat gambler in years past!
did Skeevy get the obligatory standing ”O” when Boch came to get him? .. I’m just tuning in now ..
I’ll give you $1,500 for the Beemer, Blade. Cash. And I’ll throw in a 6 x 8 photo of Jose Pagan on the Giants, but my brother crossed out “Giants” and wrote “Pirates” at the bottom.
No sir.
Touché!
I wonder if Jim Ray Hart and Morley Safer ever crossed paths? I tend to think they did not.
Blade, that’s a nice car but there’s a lot of “No’s” and “don’t do this or that’s” at the end of the ad. Turned me off. Plus, too much of a shadow cast in the pic. But still, I like the color silver so…..
I’m willing to offer you a tee shirt I nabbed the other day from screen legend Anthony Quinn while he was doing sit ups in the park. This offer is non negotiable.
now THAT was funny….
Ryan Covay @RyanCovay 38s38 seconds ago
Jake Arrieta is 18-0 with a 0.84 ERA in his past 21 reg season starts. I lack the vocabulary to find a word that accurately describes that.
I can give you 3:
We’re gonna lose
I’ve always liked Dexter Fowler a lot, a BB9, Fred Lewis kind of player whose effectiveness exceeded his reputation, but there is no way he keeps this pace up over the entire year.
I love Fowler. Always have. Longer body and way better than Stone Glove.
Fuck, Duffy, you fucking choker!!
Just thought I’d try that out.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Rizzo at bat . . . A lot going on there. When he retires, he can get a job with the Chippendales
I know I should be feeling sorry for Heyward, but all I can think about is how fucked up it is that Span crushed that ball off of JA for nothing.
shit evens out over 162, right?
Of course, but I want them to beat that arrogant bearded motherfucker *tonight*!
i don’t really watch too many current movies, what movie was that Cruise clip from?
Not certain, but I think Oblivion (maybe Elysium? Or, was that with Damon???).
Please, no more Peavy. It is over.
Peavy is not going 6 innings tonight!!! Idiot
Alright, Krukow, spin this.
Wow.
Bad sign when your pitch count is at 50 and it is only the 2nd inning.
At least the bullpen is well rested.
I think that was Krukow’s spin.
That’s scary, I’m only following on computer.
So 1 out 5 games we will see a good game by Peavy??
Peavy’s ERA back up to 8.21.
I am bummed that I opted for this game over http://www.bampfa.berkeley.edu/event/bachelor%E2%80%99s-affairs
That was back when young people looked like elderly people.
So now we are going to see a different Giants pitcher every inning?? You aren’t going to get the 5 runs back in one inning, let Law pitch few innings!!
The important thing is that Peavy feels good and he’s close.
Reposting in the correct spot ..
.. Wondering, did Skeevy get the obligatory standing “O” when Boch came to get him? … Just tuning in now.
He wouldn’t get that now. But they’re not going to boo him, either, which is fine.
I woulda booed him .. Real Loud! … but I’m an asshole … No, I would’ve given him a sarcastic standing O while booing loudly .. I really can be an asshole at times!
We shan’t get no-hit.
The Padres are resting Kemp tonight. Gee, thanks.
We shan’t get shut-out.
Goddammit!
Looked like it was gonna go.
I’m late meting relatives at the game. Given the score, I’m wondering if I would be better stopping at a brew pub and pound a brew watching on a big screen, rather than freezing my ass off…
I vote for the bar.
I never pass up a chance to make an entrance…
So……is that a vote for the bar option???
