Losses Pile up For Losing Losers
There’s not much to say after a 1-0 loss. I guess it could have been worse. 10-0? Getting shut out by some blistery fuck with herpes on his hand is one of the lower moments of the season.
Here is the bottomest of lines: We are 11-25 since the all star break. That’s not bad. It’s the worst record in all of baseball. When you are THE WORST over that stretch of time it’s silly to even consider winning a division title and hoping for a wild card spot is just a bad, desperate look.
If I saw some fight in the eyes of this team or their manager I’d probably manage to find some fight in my own. But I don’t see it and I’m tired of watching the same bullshit nearly night in and night out.
I’m not saying they aren’t trying. I’m saying that we may have wildly overestimated their abilities this year. San Dawg bought a 1977 RV with 2 other buddies yesterday. They spent the night drinking beers and voting on what to name it. That sounds like a significantly better way to spend an evening than what the rest of us did……
Part of me wants you to go back to Snarks 9:13 and fix the spelling of Jon. The other part of me thinks you should leave it as it is. Sometimes mistakes like that are beautiful. Kind of like in “Everbody Wants Some” where David Lee starts ad-libbing at the exact same time Eddie rings out a massive power chord. An obvious flub that Ted Templeman left in there, much to the delight of me and my friends.
Snarkk’s post reminds me of some movie I watched in the early 90’s with some chick and I can’t remember her name or the name of the movie. Then the mariachi music started playing. Tumble weeds were everywhere, rolling……..
That makes up for all those bullshit strikes last night.
Glad to see the table turned regarding Turner. Dude has been a thorn in the Giants side forever.
Think it’s time to pull Moore for Casilla?
and #64 hits the PoTD best of…….
Does anyone know or care why Pence came out of the game?
K and K didn’t know but seemed very concerned at the time and no word on it either. Hmmnn.
Hernandez did his best Pence impression in that AB against Chavez, swinging at 5 pitches off the plate.
So was Vin…
Normally, might be concerned about Pence leaving. But these are not normal times. He really hasn’t done much to pick up and carry this team. I want to see Parker up with the big team.
#WhatHeSaid
They just showed Rags calling the bullpen.
Hopefully it wasn’t the Giant bullpen…
lulz
Please tell me at least one of you will cue up Everybody Wants Some and listen for that bit I’m talking about. It’s when David Lee starts saying “I like the way the line runs down the back of the stocking. I’ve always liked those kind of high heels too. No, no, no. dont take them off, leave them on. That’s it, a little bit more to the right. OW-OW!!
Vintage DLR. You’ll be entertained, I promise.
I’ll do it after the game. It’ll be a tough one for me, though. 🙂
I know it will, Zum, but I appreciate it, man. LULZ!
Dawg… I think VanHalen plays that song in “Better off Dead”!
Movie cracks me up, John Cusak is wearing his dumbass Porky type hat,and he’s making this crazy ass hamburger come alive and their playing that song, it hilarious!!
Cue it up Loo..or anyone else..
That was potentially a key moment in the game. Nice K
Only Loo would likely know this, but wasn’t there a famous game with Steve Barber of Balt who lost in 10?
I remember Maloney losing to the Mets on a Johnny Lewis homer.
Don’t recall the Barber game, wilie…

Moore’s at 118 pitches…..
I love Vin, but it has always bugged me that he insists on saying Bruce “BOW-Shee.” It’s as if he feels that he alone knows better than the rest of the world how to pronounce the guys name.
Know what you mean, Dawg. I have the same problem with John Sterling who says Jose Bo-tista and Warner Wolf who used to say Dwight Goo-den…
I’m no expert on the Spanish language, but I was pretty sure Juan Uribe’s name is pronounced oo-ree-bay. Hated, absolutely hated, Joe Buck’s yoo-ree-bay in the 2010 Series….
FUCK YES SPAN!
Didn’t Moore have TJ surgery? Dunno . . . Hope this works out.
Yes
Come on, Dave Gimme a break.
One break. Coming up!
Span with 2 outstanding catches. Come on guys . . . Dude is a stud.
Span 2 awesome plays tonight!!!
Well, this team has needed a spark, someone to pick them up. Maybe this was it.
But everyone but Jon mispronounce Mar-eee-CHAL.
Dammmmmmmmmmmn!
You got to be killing me,…
Oops. Oh well, doesn’t matter. Still a great performance.
Humor me and lay out for that damn thing. If it goes to the wall, so be it.
Just missed it.
Fuck you Seager!!!
Great pitching Matt Moore!!
No- hitters can be a bitch to get, every break is needed for it to happen!!
Get the win now.
Yeah, but Duffy went 2 for 4 today.
Was it Kruk or Kuip who joked about him going 5 for 5? That was funny.
Really? I had the Scully-cast on MLB Network.
Yeah, they eventually admitted they were joking and then said he went 2 for 4, along with both of them saying Duffy was an outstanding person.
Cockroaches…
I think Moore like like Seth Macfarlane.
Good one, I was trying to figure out who he looks like and that’s it.
Great win, but fuck, the no hitter would have been cool.
Pence climbed out of the dugout for the post game handshake.
Guess he’s ok…
Losing the no-no is no biggie. Great start. The team needed it and he needed it. Span with 2 huge plays and a clutch hit. Casilla with a one pitch save. Great win. Maybe this will get these guys rolling.
Agree, LJ, this was sorely needed.
Agree, LJ. I’ve been saying for years that no-hitters for the most part are overrated flukes.
Just win the damn game…
Yeah, Heston’s never been the same…
With the Bravos coming to town the hope is we beat the shit out of them.
Need a sweep.
Gorkys took a step back on Seager’s big swing, and that cost him.
Moore came up bigger than huge. Big diff between 4 out and just 2 out…
that was a fun game to follow pitch by pitch. weak ass hit to break it up, but that fluke did allow the execrable turner to make the last out. I like that. Moore’s smile after Span made that second great play was great.
I had to look up execrable. lol
I’m still looking it up…

Loved Jim Maloney Loo, thx for the box, awesome Reds LU. Tommy Harper oaktown guy too.
Barber went 8 and 2 thirds with a no no vs. Tigers (1967) but had loaded bases on walks. Stu Miller came in and finished no hitter but an error allowed run to score, and Tigers won 2-1.
Bobby Evans basically made this trade for Moore specifically to counter with the Dodgers heavy LH LU..
Looks like a solid move now!
Hell of a game for Span.
Hammy tightness for Pence.
Alright, sandog, here you go:
“You can’t get romantic on a subway line–conductor don’t like it, says you wastin’ yo’ time”
This will make me sound like a jerk- have we seen that kind of hustle from Span on a daily basis? Maybe.
OH NO YOU DIDN’T! Now Span is being accused of being a loafer on top of everything else??? Yer killin’ me Zum!
Zumie,Unca, are LJ
Pull up the VanHalen Everybody wants some video from “Better off Dead”
John Cusak in the kitchen making a enormous hamburger come alive, it’s hilarious!!
LOL
I had never seen that–thanks for sharing!
Complements of the Kat. Hadn’t seen it before tonight.
“Look, I’ll pay you for it…” Classic.
Alright, that Van Halen song wasn’t bad. The guitar-work was actually pretty interesting.
I will gladly settle for that review–coming from an aficionado like you !
Roth has a pretty funny sense of humor, but I could see him getting on a band’s nerves.
What do our “More” video choices say about us?
Personally, I wish I kept my Huk-a-Poo shirts…
I think yours says you’re a leg man…
Mine has the Artful Dodger connection.
I disagree with all of you who think losing the no-hitter was no big deal. While I agree no hitters are kind of flukey, I think no hitting the Dodgers in their home stadium with our key acquisition on the mound could have been something that gave this team a much-needed spark.
Was I the only person screaming for Gorkys to dive? I wanted that no-hitter BADLY.
A dive would have been nice. The run was meaningless.
His first step was back, though, and he was screwed.
If I had any energy left, I would look up how the Giants did following Timmy’s 2 no-hitters.
I don’t…
He did really lousy after one of them, at least.
2013: Lost to Reds 11-0, All-Star break in between.
2014: Beat the Cards 5-0, threw 8 shutout innings.
Totally with you Dog!
No hitting the Dogpile in their stinking Latrine would have been awesome!
It qualifys as a great statement game, 4 down would have been the death knell, 2 back is now douable especially with the shittiest team in baseball ( the Braves, apologies to your wife Zumie)coming into town!
But yeah if Pence hamstring didn’t tighten up, that maniac with his VanGough eyes would make that play no problem, he lays it all out in that situation!!!
The Braves won two against the Giants in Atlanta, and I still don’t get how that happened.
Really tired of the commercial where the dad dresses the dog like a lion so the kid will play with him. It’s my least favorite commercial out there, and I hate a lot of commercials.
How did the Giants do the day after Gaylord Perry no-hit the Cards in ’68?
They got no-hit themselves. Fun fact!
Yup. By the immortal Ray Washburn…
Well how about Johnny VanDerMeer..
He throws a nohitter and says:WTF, I’ll throw one in my next start as well!!
Anything less than a sweep of Atlanta is a disappointment.
In case you didn’t know, Peavy is listed as the starter for Saturday…
Inspiring fact Loo!
Peavy are Cain = PAIN
Yay end of losing streak, I can watch Heidi Watney’s highlights again!
Vowed i would not watch. Caught a tiny bit accidently on the radio ( LA Dodger station on my presets). Crawford out on a great catch to end the 6th with 2 runners on. Of course. said “Fuck” to myself, and turned it off. No knowledge of the game going on. Fuck. Saw the Moore non no update end of 7 yay!.
turned it on in time to see the Span catch and then the bloop. HUGE win. Saved our season maybe:)
I started watching in the 6th. What a thrill. So it was a 1-hitter. No matter. No less of an accomplishment. The bloop was uncatchable. Tough call for Bochy. It made me a Matt “I Look Like George Clooney” Moore fan. Span’s catch near the end. Wow! I watched “Walter Mitty” just before I started watching the game. Then stopped. Just finished. That movie was made for me. G’night, girls.
Pence would have caught that. Gorky Park went back on the ball.
No matter. They needed that win in the worst way. Going Sunday. Bummie’s on the hill.
Gearing up for the Sherpa game.
