A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Sunday Funday

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on September 4, 2016

I have no idea how websites determine the % chance that a team will make the post season but I checked a few different sites and they all seem to come in at 85% for the Giants. I get it, the wild card and all. They must be counting the play-in game which is really what it is. But for a team with the worst record in mlb since the break, for a team that seems to not be able to ever put good pitching and timely hitting together in a single game, that seems like a pretty high percentage, no?

Cueto today and he has become as confounding as his delivery. I wouldn’t pretend to know in a million  years how he’ll do today. My guess would be awful. Unless of course we aren’t hitting Lackey at all, then I think he’ll be lights out……

The only thing weirder would be getting Liriano back. Or AJ Gofuckme. Didn’t Nathan go 10-4 as a reliever in 200

Chris Speier came back after 12 years gone or some shit.

One thing about making the Wild Card is that the teams gets to do a champaign celebration for qualifying for the game AND another if they win that game.Other sports must think that’s pretty funny how baseball teams have those boozy celebrations in every round of the playoffs.

  49. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on September 4, 2016 at 1:40 pm

I don’t understand Bochy’s moves there in the last inning. At all.
Belt on first, nobody out. You need to add on.
He takes out Parker, a guy that can hit it out, with Tomlinson, a popgun hitter, but the fastest guy on the team, next to Nunie. Yet, he then burns Specs without a swing, when the Cubs bring in the new righty. Tomlinson could have easily bunted Belt to second, maybe even beat out the bunt for a hit and there’d still be no out. You’d force the Cubs to make a play on a bunt. No. He puts in lefty No-Smile, the slowest ass guy on the team, as part of the rightly lefty thing, and he has pop, but risks an EZ DP. Well, he Ks. One down, Belt stuck at first. Nunie flies out. 2 down. Then 000 gets hit, so men on first and second, two out. Instead of bringing in Williamson to see if he can smoke one, or maybe even Bum, he leaves in Cueto, basically an auto out, giving up the opportunity with Belt in scoring position. I do not understand any of that. It’s as if Bochy does not want to risk anything to score an add on run. Leaving Cueto in, I can maybe understand since Bochy has not much faith in the Pen, but Cueto is near 100 throws. And, how often are they getting a guy on second even in position to score? …

  50. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on September 4, 2016 at 1:46 pm
