A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

SF Cooling Off Hotlanta

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on May 6, 2018

This Hanson guy is bringing a nice, *no-Honky* look to the team right now. Ron Hansen is my favorite all time jockey, may he rest in peace.

Atlanta doesn’t know what’s fucking hit them this weekend. It’s refreshing to see that we can beat a young, athletic team. And we are beating them to a pulp. I’m not really sure how we’re doing this actually.

Next guy up? Suarez? Sure, why not. Hides the ball well, he competes. Another guy who fits into the resilient mold that you’re required to have if you want to play with these guys.

Sweep ’em, why not?

Also, currently on pace for 88 wins this year. Hope today isn’t the only day I get to say that this season

Definitely surprised by their play, as I thought they would have a rough April. Instead, they did very well and have even “doubled down” in May, with unbelievable performances mostly across the board (starting pitching, hitting and definitely the bullpen). So kudos to the team . . .

However, their starting rotation is going to need to do a better job at minimizing runs and pitch count. The Giants won’t have another off-day until the 21st of May, so they need to pitch deep into games to prevent that bullpen from getting tired. If the starting pitching pitchs below average, expect the effectiveness of the bullpen to decrease. This is especially important since we don’t have reinforcements until 4-5 weeks from now (Madbum, Smarg, Melanoma) and there’s the question of Cueto even coming back this season.

I have to agree with Zum, at least the product is interesting and is keeping my attention. Last season’s team was terrible and boring to watch.

3 games over .500 for the 1st time since 2016. A team has been crushed by injuries to key pitchers from the start and we have continued to compete. Not analyzing it, just enjoying it. No expectations for today, because our Sunday giveaway day is here. I hope Pablo Hundley Gorgys et all are ready:)

We are getting the ‘get-away-day’ lineup, so it’ll be interesting to see how this goes. . . Still and all I;m fairly surprised how well they are playing collectively. I wasn’t sure the hitting would come around, nor the pen.

And especially with the patchwork AAA starting five.

Not really surprising regarding him being the only one to cover the Giants on this road trip. As you’re intimately aware (being a sportswriter), this is happening all over the country. In fact, dollars to donuts – the Denver Post disappears by the end of the year. They already lost the Rocky Mountain News a few years ago. If the Post disappears, that will leave Colorado without a major newspaper.

Check out this editorial and especially the before and after staff photo:

This guy and that play just proved it. Panik does not make that play.
