1-0 and Time For Some Philly Revenge
What an incredible Game 1 that was. If I didn’t hate Cleveland fans I would feel some sympathy for them. That dope @vernthompson was rage tweeting last night. Lots of capitals and exclamation points. But hey, JR Smith is a known dunce, that’s gotta get old to deal with all the time. And that reversed call? Man, that was a gift. I can’t remember a reviewed call on charge that got changed to a block. Certainly not in a situation like that….
Hoping Philly plays a little differently in our yard. That’s a reasonable hope. Pivetta has been very good this year but not nearly as good on the road (2.20 ERA at home, 5.82 ERA on road). Stratton (who sucks) might be able to keep us in this game if he has begun recovering from his battle with postpartum.
You know the drill, we need to count on our bats again….
I didn’t think people even got that anymore.
lulz
It’s a random thing. My brother had his appendix out when he was 15. My mom’s exploded at 79.
Aurilia finally said something useful. He said he had an appendectomy in 2003 but they did it through his belly button and it only cost him 15 days on the DL.
Appendicitis for Belt.
Seriously? Can the guy ever catch a break? Likely 6-8 weeks is my guess.
I’ve never broken a bone, much less had a concussion or appendicitis . . . Are you serious Unca? 6-8 weeks?
Vungo came back pretty quick from it in 2010, I think.
Thank God for the Panda…
Yeah, if Bochy has a heart attack, he can manage too. Besides, just how difficult is it to hand the home plate umpire the lineup card?
Looking at the standings – we better win the Division – only 2 teams in front of us and only 3 games back. To win one of the Wild Card slots, we’re 5.5 games back with 5 teams in front of us. Hmm
Belt is seriously snakebit.
Quick web search says 4-6 weeks recovery for an appendectomy. Holy fuck.
Add another week of rehab in Sacramento.
Always get a second opinion:
“Once you’ve had an appendectomy, you will probably recover pretty quickly. It feels good to get a bad appendix out. Most patients leave the hospital 1 to 2 days after surgery. The good news is that you’ll be able to go back to all those normal activities within 2 to 4 weeks.”
Aurilia finally said something useful. He said he had an appendectomy in 2003 but they did it through his belly button and it only cost him 15 days on the DL.
Belt’s situation will determine many decisions now, but Pavolic’s got a point.

Maybe Belt will miss the two weeks his OPS was set to drop to the mid-800s.
Blade, all the shenanigans you pulled and no broken bones? No concussions? Lucky, man.
One broken rib (still sort of sticks out if you look closely) via a high school football injury. They just wrapped it back in those days. Dunno what they do now???
Nothing. well, whiskey. I’ve cracked my ribs a few times.
Now Posey’s hurt?
As Loo alluded to earlier:
Athletic view on Giants first round pick upcoming in the draft:
San Francisco Giants (slot value: $7,494,600)
Selection: Joey Bart, C, Georgia Tech
The Giants could go a number of different directions with this pick, but Bart is a unique talent — a power bat with the ability to hit for average who can actually stay behind the plate. Selecting Bart would give the Giants a succession plan for Buster Posey at catcher, giving them a rough timetable for when Posey can move to first base full-time. The Giants could also go with RHP Brady Singer, who would be on a fast track to the big leagues, Madrigal, or third baseman Alec Bohm, arguably the top middle-of-the-order college bat available in this draft.
If Belt truly does need the appendix out, it should be via arthroscopic — through the belly button. Couple weeks out. I had my gall bladder out the same way a few years ago. I was out of the hospital 2 days after the surgery. One hole in the belly button and 2 small ones nearby from the air insertion tubes. Belly button itched for two weeks while the incision healed…
How long to recover so you could work?
I was back in about 10 calendar days, probably could have done in a week, but why push it?…
I don’t get Giants Raw, but I’m watching it as I missed the game.
Huh. Cutch was dogging out of the box on his triple. Not that it mattered. Got to see 3 different views of it.
