Let’s Get the Hell Out of Miami
I’m not that worried about the pen. I’m not a big fan of Moronta because he can’t throw strikes sometimes but look at the ERA of these guys. I trust all of these guys still. Sure there could be a burn out issue, that’s obvious with all the damage the five 5’s have been doing. But these guys are not the problem right now.

Will Smith giving up that rocket to Bour was a huge issue but that was just one pitch. And I thought Strickland was decent enough, he got put in a tough situation.
Screw Miami. They aren’t playing well there. Last week they beat Stras and Scherzer, if they can do that they can beat anyone…..

Just win a fucking game, already!
1. Joe Panik (L) 2B
2. Buster Posey (R) C
3. Andrew McCutchen (R) RF
4. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
5. Evan Longoria (R) 3B
6. Pablo Sandoval (S) 1B
7. Mac Williamson (R) LF
8. Gorkys Hernandez (R) CF
9. Dereck Rodriguez (R) P
There was quite a bit of talk about this team being fun to watch this year, especially in comparison to last year’s train wreck (and I was one of those in that camp), but I’ll tell you, losing these last three, to this team, in the fashion in which they have, has challenged that train of thought.
You got that right Chi!!
You can’t beat the Freakin Marlins you can’t beat anyone!!
That’s what kills you about this team, though; they come off a series where they beat one of the hottest teams in the league, in their park, in addition to roughing up one of the best pitchers in the game, then shit the bed against a team that was 19 games under .500 coming in and routinely draws about 500 fans a night. WTF.
and . . .
Do they have any competent pitchers in San Jose???
Chi, these 2 pitchers (along with the other 2 SJ Giants) have been named all stars for the league. However, I couldn’t tell you anything beyond that.
Interesting. Yeah let’s check them out next time you’re back in town August, great idea.
The US Open is a mess so far…opening for Justin Thomas to come out this afternoon and take charge.
Giants played good baseball here in DC. Would have just fine to split in Miami so that was a tough loss last night…
Moronta has one helluva talented arm and he’s shown flashes of excellent command, meaning he has it in him, so I am a big fan. Unlike many teams these days, the Giants don’t seem to develop a lot of hard throwers and that’s concerning, especially for the pen, but Moronta does have that coveted cannon for an arm and filthy secondary pitches to boot.
Two shit losses in this series have left me frustrated (again) with this team. Every time they seem on the cusp of breaking out they jerk the rug out from under us, and that sucks. I have no confidence that they’ll get the job done today, either. This team has always had issues with Florida, regular season or playoffs, going back to 1993. In the third game of a three game set I attended that season, it took a 2-out, 2-run bottom-of-the-9th homer off of Bryan Harvey from the great Robby Thompson to take the game (right before being swept by the fucking Bravos). Talk about your highs and lows.
Agree LJ. I have zero problems with Moronta. Shit, he’s like found money under the sofa cushion. No one here even knew his name before this season.
Every team has bad stretches. But, I think playoff worthy teams aren’t Jeckl/Hyde like this one. That’s classic .500 team action…
I think it is still too early to put the Kibosh on this team. They have the talent to compete and win the West, IMO. They will need to be more consistent and win regularly on the road to have a chance in the playoffs, if indeed they do make the dance. Playing as they have these past three days ain’t gonna get it done.
Giants may not be all that good but fortunately rest of division doesn’t look like anything special. Cutch has OPS up to almost .800 good sign.
watching the stros after I got home last night destroy the A’s, what a cool team they are.
And at 44-25 they are in second place behind surprising Mariners.
Stros did something I don’t recall seeing last night. Gattis hit 2 more bombs, and as he crossed the plate he raised his batting helmet up in the air and on deck and in the hole hitters raised theirs up and tapped his. He’s driven in 10 runs in 2 games and mgr. said everyone has been following the guy and trying to get something off him via osmosis.
Panik is feast or famine. Two games where he got 3 hits in last 7 games. The rest Ofers.
I think you could reasonably say that all of the Giants starting position players are streaky as hell. Panik is certainly in that camp. If he continues to struggle, they need to get Hanson more starts, especially against righties, as I believe his average is much better when hitting from the left side.
Oh yeah no doubt bomb!
Straily has thrown 22 pitches and got one out.
Panik wore him out on his AB. lulz
Fuck yeah! Now just hold the fucking lead….
Cutch Bomb!
Cutch is finally playing like the man we know him to be. Our offense if fine, it has been all year. We just need to fine tune some of the pitching and we’ll be fine.
Agree, Flav. It is hard to get a lead, lose it, have the offense get it back again, lose it…repeat cycle, and expect to win many games.
Oaf-da!
Mac’s ears must have been burning with all the Flap talk about him being the short man out when Belt is activated, etc. 😉
lulz. I ain’t going nowhere mofos.
Yeah, I don’t know. Thing is, at any given time they CAN play well. And they can look like a team that is 15 games under. The playoffs are a prime example. But frustrating is the perfect word. They did this before when they took 2 of 3 from the Nats, 3 of 4 from the dogs and swept Atl ion the road. They then proceeded to lose their next 6 games.
They can’t seem to overcome suck escape velocity.
Oh, the game’s on?
wow hate to see anyone get hit on the hand these days.
I know it is early in the season, but if our boys cough-up this motherfucker, I may start looking for a ledge…
It’s such a pleasure to watch Cutch play every day, even past his prime. If he can give the offense a good kick for the rest of the season I’ll be stoked. I am concerned about the pen. Seems like the five fives have created a whole lot of work for them. Maybe I’ll take a look at IP later today and see if that’s really true. Both entertaining and frustrating, this team has a personality.
Those people in the day-glo bright yellowish t-shirts behind home plate–wtf are they advertising? I think most teams prohibit that sort of display in the seats that show up on the broadcast all the time. effin marlins.
Man, this game is sailing along…only an hour into the game and we’re in the 5th. Sail on and close this bitch out, and get the hell outta Miami. This team needs a happy flight heading into SmellA.
Will have to bust out this shirt tomorrow…

Cool to see Pudge there.
never liked him, esp after J T was a step late but it is cool for him and Mrs. to be able to see kid do well.
I actually liked the guy till that series. And that’s on Dusty that he didn’t put in a pinch runner for the notoriously slow Snow.
Jeez…come on Rodriguez….DO NOT cough this bitch up!
It would be a really good thing if Pudge Jr. can shake off that HR and get us a couple more innings.
Agree. Would be nice to see him go at least 7. 78 pitches through six IP. Hell, a couple of quick innings and maybe he goes 8…
Out running errands and just saw the replay of Longo getting hit on the hand. Is he alright?
nice job by Watson.
Hope that one Pablo hit to the wall wasn’t bad omen.
Insurance would be nice.
Sad to say, but I was hoping Pence was up there to bunt.
Or take one in the hand. Fuck I’m tired of this when we have guys raking in AAA
How much more of Pence must we endure?
yeah nice AB there from Panik laying off the low stuff (unlike Pence).
Or Posey.
If we don;t score here I think we are going to choke this one away,
And as I post that, Buster is 4′ out of the box when the throw gets to 1st on the DP.
Stop with the doomer shit already. I am trying to visualize/channel a W here. 😉
We’re all doomers . . .
Luke. I am your doomer brother.
yeah Hanson. too bad for craw, stuck that one to the warning track.
Gotta admit I’m impressed with how patient Sando often is these days, taking more pitches off the plate as opposed to wild man he was earlier in career.
Once again, when the team has RISP and needs to expand their lead, they cannnot get that key hit. SMH…
Close this thing out.
WTF???????????????????????????????? Are you shitting me?
well I can’t blame Stricknine for that one
Fuuuuccckkk…
Struck piped one there
I just knew the longer this went on with Brinson, he would deliver . . . and he did. Fuck.
Looking for that ledge…
Jesus. Pipe a fast ball down the middle for your out pitch. He’s lucky the ball stayed in the yard Walk the guy you dumbfuck. Strick is not too smart.
Here we go. Fuuuuuuuck!
Bochy should just IBB the next four guys and get the fuck out of there.
Blech! Not feeling good about him at all.
Fuck!
FUCK
dammit. at least there was no collision at home this time in Miami . . . .
No doubt. Craw’s out.
When the hit was called on the radio, I though Craw would score…
place is hexed.
Are the Giants out of mulligans???
Score a fucking run, NOW…
win or lose this is the last fucking thing we need—long extra inning game b4 a cross country trip to LA. Fucking sucks.
Agree…did not see this post before my last…
Right. Pence finally gets wood on one and it’s on a line to the LFer.
Another .190 guy goes 3 for 3.
Wow. Foot tag.
3 good innings from Blach. Be nice if they could win it for him.
If some way, miraculously, the Giants won this fucker, it sucks to go extras on a day they have to fly to SmellA and play the bums, tomorrow. But, WTF…any happy flight would be welcome at this point!
Not to pin this one all on Posey, but his last 4 ABs have been about as lame as it gets.
not to defend those lame at bats but he was supposed to have today off, Bochy wrote him in when Hundley was feeling ragged from last night’s game
I like Panik a lot, but his drop of the pop-up in the 9th sure as fuck didn’t help…
No question he is the main culprit for all this.
True, but I have to include Gorkys in this mess for playing that single into a double.
OK. Bases juiced, no out…get ‘er done!
Panda!
PANDA! BOOM! 💥
Took a while, but it looks like this one is in the bag . . . I hope.
Just close this bitch out for that happy flight…
again, this is bad even if we win. 16 innings? Now cross country to LA? Behind the 8 ball tomorrow night.
The good news Flav is that they are going West. My experience with jet lag has been that it is off the charts significantly worse going East vs. West. Here a good article, if you want to know the science behind it.
http://www.thisisinsider.com/why-is-jetlag-worse-when-flying-east-2016-7
Regardless, they’re not going to be bright eyed and bushy tail . . .
hey, question: can you guys stream KNBR if you are out of the Bay Area?
Yes, no sweat. I rarely listen to them though.
I have not been able to…still go through MLB…
Here Chi . . . http://www.knbr.com/knbr680/
Tortuous…
Winna Winna Chicken Dinner! Fuuuccckkk…that was brutal…
Players of the game, Kung Fu Motherfucking Panda and Blach…
Sweet (and sour) 16.
Sweet and Sour…that a cocktail, Mac? If so, pour me one, and make mine a double!
Lulz.
Whew!
BEAT LA! BEAT LA! BEAT LA!
Pablo gaining strength as feel good story of the season…
We got our ace going tomorrow, bring on the Bums!
Blach should be doing tequila shooters all the way to LA. Fuck it, they all should.
I need a drink…a couple of ‘em after those shenanigans…
