As Loo alluded to, I think Willie is only appearing now in converted save situations, so their roles are slightly different.

      That is correct, Doggie!

Man being a Mets fan must suck. They do nothing at the deadline, pat themselves on the back for keeping all their SP together and then go out and are losing 16-0 with the game not even half way over

      Kinda like our team..
But hey, atleast we took down someone below us in the standings..

      25-1 is:

      a) Odds for K.C. Chiefs to win Super Bowl

      b) Odds for Arizona Diamondbacks to win World Series

      c) Score of Nats-Mets game

      d) All of the above.

Not keeping score on this but I think the Masterpiece (light on) is undefeated at 3-0

Sabean says a lot of crap around trade deadlines. Stuff that sounds like something, means squat.
Bottom line: 29 of the 30 MLB teams made at least one trade move in July.
    Only one did not…

Nats now over Mets in the top of 9th: 25 to 1.
    WTF?…

    • Macdog's avatar Macdog said, on July 31, 2018 at 7:18 pm

Mets just cut the deficit to 23.

Down 25-2, there can’t be a more appropriate situation for Austin Jackson to hit his first HR of the season.

        wasn’t that just perfect?

    Giants can’t score. Period.
Bochy will have to continue to fry this Pen to keep in games the rest of the season. It’s going to crater pretty soon due to overuse. 80 wins looks out of reach to me now…

utter nonsense out of Sabes. This is the kind of stupid existential bullshit you might churn out when your boss asks what you got accomplished today and you did nothing:
“Well, not being flip, but the more you’ve been around the game, it’s not how good you are, it’s how well you play,” Sabean said. “So whatever team plays the best for the longest is going to win out. We’ve got enough talent, we’ve got enough experience.

“We’ll take our chances. You’ve still got to compete and win it on the field.”

Like, I said, he often spouts a lot of claptrap. Means nothing. It’s not how good you are? Ask Mets fans how much that rings true…

I’ve had jobs where I’ve used the umpire/referee defense.
If you don’t notice me, I’m doing a good job…

Ask the Phillies how al that experience helped them through their wilderness of 90 loss seasons.

Watching the replay of the game, and fuck, the ump is 2′ away watching Crawfish slide into 2nd ahead of the throw and calls him out. He was safe by a lot. How do you miss that shit? Fricking Galvis is pretty fucking good.

A .500 VP bragging about doing nothing is a VP willing to live with a .500 season.

I get Cutch hasn’t been up to his past standards but watching Longoria is worse than watching Pence!! “Gold Glove” defense awful, NEVER gets a clutch hit. Gets a LOT more money for longer, yet all the hate is for 22. WTH??

    • Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on August 1, 2018 at 6:50 am

well, Longo sucks, too. But he was on the DL for 6 weeks (or whatever it was). If he’d been sucking for as long as McSuckin’ been suckin’ he’d be catching the same amount of shit I bet

    Old McSuckin had a glove;
    E-9, E-9, oh…

Greetings from NYC! Took the red eye last night. Maybe got an hour of sleep on the flight. Can’t check in until 3, so we (my daughter is with me) have to suck it up and kill several hours this am. Having coffee now in some underground marketplace at the Columbus Circle subway station.

Watched the “Willie” Twilight Zone episode at the airport in SD. Hadn’t seen it in a long time. Funny thing though, there was never a scene where he closes a door. Is the GIF not from TZ after all?
