Friday!
I don’t attend fancy shows but I’m enjoying San Dawg’s updates from New York…
Four in a row and the light will definitely be kept on for us…..
Stratton’s back! Let’s see how elite that spin rate is….

Still can’t get over how bad Black made Golds especially and Pollock look last night. that swing and miss on 99 from Black for the K did not resemble any swing I remember from Golds off Giants pitching. Then he has P waving at the slider outside and off the plate.
enjoy Black while we can, that arm is gonna fall off soon.
They should blast this song when he enters a home game…
As I mentioned at the end of the last thread, looks like I missed a damned entertaining game. Seems Bum did not have his top stuff (100+ pitches in five frames), but worked out of the the jams.
KebMo and Taj Majal was a great show! On of the best concerts we have seen in a while. SOLID band…definitely worth checking out if you get the chance.
I was laying in bed around midnight, just home from the concert, and checking out the box and reading the wrap, and realized our buys have won four straight. Damned near fell outta bed!
Let’s keep this train a rollin’!
Any win like last night can be the one that inspires a team to believe in themselves and find a way to stay in the race. I harbor no wild imaginations as odds are long; but enjoying the 1am ending and waking to the itch that just won’t go away with this team, I’ll take that, drink my shot of whiskey , salute to my Giants flag and enjoy the moment.
Great post, Dennis. Toast…bottoms up!
Just flipped my Giants calendar to August….and which Giant graces the page…
One Johnny Cueto. 🙄
Go figure….
I wonder if SanDog’s new pal remembers Andy Carey’s final 2 games.
They were slightly important…
Wonder if Cueto thru his interpretation man said to Doc Andrews , guess I’m getting plenty of rest now you quack..
Kat, just did the Buffalo Trace tour. Awesome. Ended with tastes of the white dog basic bourbon that hits the barrels and then a shot of the flagship B Trace 7-8 year and a shot of a single barrel 10 year, plus their 10x distilled vodka. Great tour…
Awesome Snarkk!!
I’m jealous as hell!!
Buffalo Trace is one fine bourbon 🥃
Bottoms up my man!!
I’m jealous, I’d love to take that tour. Buffalo Trace is my go to bourbon these days but I can’t get it here. North Carolina has State run liquor stores and they keep telling me they can’t get Buffalo Trace any more (they used to), I don’t know why. I go down to Louisiana and it’s everywhere and some places on sale. We’ve been mostly driving down to NOLA these days, so I always load up on Buffalo Trace and a rum I really like, Matusalem (which I’ve only seen in one store down there).
Just hit the Wild Turkey tour. Saw some dudes tasting in rick house to buy a single barrel to have it specially bottled — a 9 or 10 year old bourbon costs $7-$10K to have it custom bottled with your own label, etc. 163 bottles result. The master distiller was squiring the sides around to barrel taste. Really liked the Russels Reserve single barrel at the tasting, the 3 other tastes were good, too. Tour guide was “Bubba”, ex Parris Island drill seargeant. Thank Full Metal Jacket only tasting bourbon. We got here late and they drive me and the Mrs. and younger snarkette up the hill solo to catch up with the group. Awesome tour !!…
Just met Jimmy Russell the master distiller at Wild Turkey, his wife and his son who is now taking over as Master Distiller. Talkin bourbon with these dudes is awesome…
how drunk does everyone get on that tour?
They give you tastes in the tasting room at tour end. Can’t get drunk on that. Probably only a full shot total in 4 tastes…
they should change that
I was dumping some hazardous waste down in San Jose today, I’m on 280 driving and McCovey Cove Dave drives right up next to me. You know it’s him because his entire truck is covered with Giants shit and it says “McCovey Cove Dave” all over it. I got nothing else going on so I hold up my phone and make eye contact like “can i snap a pic” and he gives me the thumbs down. What the fuck is that? But I respected his wish and did not photograph him
Fuck him. Hope he drowns.
You’re 10,000 times the celebrity he thinks he is…
this is true.
I had to look him up. He looks like a prick.
He’s an absurd self-promoting asswipe who seems to do a great job kayaking around McCovey Cove now that no one else chases the rare splash hit out there. Big fucking deal.
so we are all in agreement, fuck this guy. Good. Now that we’ve got that settled….
1. Andrew McCutchen (R) RF
2. Buster Posey (R) C
3. Evan Longoria (R) 3B
4. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
5. Austin Slater (R) 1B
6. Chase d’Arnaud (R) 2B
7. Hunter Pence (R) LF
8. Steven Duggar (L) CF
9. Chris Stratton (R) P
cutch and the honkys…nothing much SF can add to make it more exciting except Hanson.
Panik role being reduced to platoon, surprising. Think he’s better player than that but having tough year.
why Pence instead of Gorkys?
pence has very good numbers v Corbin. But they were much better to start the year, he was hitting like .500 off him for his career to start the year, it’s down to .395. For obvious reasons.
Why Pence at all? Oh yeah never mind.
18 million along with alphabet 18 mil keeps you around…
They could atleast play Hanson in LF, but why add speed to the LU??
Pence has a whopping 38 ABs vs. Corbin going back to 2012. He’s 0-5 this season — and this season Corbin’s strong and Pence is not.
interested to see how easy it was for San Dawg to get tix to tonight’s game. It is degrom but I heard Mets games are ghost towns these days
Well, there’s loads of empty seats…
Tickets were as low as $6 last time I checked Stubhub.
The fees are probably more than that…
I could still get a 6 pack of PBR,Schlitz,Schafer,Coors, Bud ,Rolling Rock (underrated for cheap beer)🤘 cheaper then buying a Met ticket and watch them lose on TV 📺
Jackson hitting 5th and batting.250, has the highest BA in the entire LU. Ouch
which has 2 hits tonite, and deGrom has one of them and the only rbi.
Jackson makes the final out in 2-1 loss.
yeah. on cbs site Mets tweets said deG was 0-4 in last 7 with ERA of 2.47. How much is he making?
Loved the McCovey Cove Dave posts. Cracked me up.
Is it clear yet that Cutch does not know how to play RF?
he seemed quite flustered by the sudden appearance of the wall.
Why was Stratton called back up again?
No idea, LJ.
He is nothing but an unorganized grabastic piece of amphibian shit…
I’d like to float the possibility that Stratton’s wife has recently given birth to yet another baby.
Nibbling pitchers make me want to pull my fucking hair out.
Game over in the first inning. Pack this fucker right back to Sac Town.
At least I don’t have to waste my evening watching these assholes.
Is there a level below Single-A? That’s where Stratton belongs.
but….elite spin rate.
I’m hoping Stratton is limited to a 40 pitch count tonight.
Stratton is not the answer to the hole in the rotation. Next…
I can’t remember watching many games where I’m 100 % certain that the game is over before the end of the first.
Don’t give up PaSalon. This bitch has just gotten started!
Braves are 5-0 vs degrom this year. Degrom’s ERA in those 5 games is 1.09…
Larry Jaster in reverse.
That was for Twin…
If anyone cares:
https://retrosimba.com/2016/09/24/how-cardinals-rookie-larry-jaster-dominated-dodgers/
No quit in these honkies!
Slater! Stanford man comes through again
wow another nice AB from Slater. comeback trail.
PaSalon you better not have given up my man!
You could read Posey’s lips when he told the firstbase coach: “I don’t feel good.”
He may have a concussion. Those goalie masks are awful.
The old masks were actually better because they moved when hit.
The goalie masks let your brains rattle…
$72 for two including fees. 14 rows behind Braves dugout. I also bought a 4 pack of Carlsberg talls (the selection was limited) earlier today for $5.50. Enjoying one of those tall boys right now.
Nice yard. Has bullpens not a half an inch from the field of play. Actually behind outfield fence. Didn’t wander around at all…other than HOF section. Excellent U2 cover band playing out front.
Agree with the standard criticism that they went overboard on the Brooklyn Dodger nostalgia, but I thought the Mets Hall of Fame exhibit was well done. Nice plaques and great announcer tribute deal. Great scoreboard and graphics.
The homer by Camargo? was no cheapie. Upper deck in right field. Swanson didn’t play, but man the Braves field a helluva line up these days.
Free t shirt is actually kinda cool. Express train coming back to Mahattan was lovely.
the no. 7 line? or the LIRR?
The 7. I despise the LIRR.
Cutch fucking sucks in the OF…
I agree, that was weak.
what’s wrong with Posey?
Took a foul ball shot off the mask…
Uh-oh. Concussion?
Took a direct hit to the mask on a foul tip for about the 5,000th time.
It’s gotta have a cumulative effect…
Longoria’s defense…..yikes.
I watched the first two episodes of Stranger Things this week. Good show so far, and nice to see Winona Ryder get a good comeback role.
Hey Stratton, we have good news and we have bad news.
Greyhound has free WiFi, that’s the good news…
And the Safeway in Sacramento has a great sale on Pampers…
Yep, I hear it’s half price night for the super absorbent 12 pack. I hope he doesn’t get waylaid in Indio.
Ty-riffic!
I was on the fence about whether or not to get into one of those Carlsberg’s tonight, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve made in days. Man, that was good.
Time for a cold shower. Its a touch on the warm and sticky side here in NY and we’ve got the Chris Stratton of wall unit air conditioners in our room.
A touch? My balls are stuck to my knee…
Its really quite something.
Those two missed line drives by Craw are far more embarrassing than any single game Fred Lewis ever had.
I wonder what Fred’s doing these days.
You don’t see a lot of Freds these days.
Needed to get my annual Fred reference in. Hope he managed his money well.
From the look of it, bourbon distillery tours are much more productive than watching Giants games. I’m thinking another tour is in the works for tomorrow…
Did you grab a bottle of Blantons at the BT tour?
That was my thought too
Here at Keeneland Racetrack, watching morning workouts from trackside on the grandstand rail. I’m not into horse racing but I can understand the attraction. When it’s quiet like this you can hear the power and see the grace of these animals firing down the stretch. The paddock here is like a damn country club, gorgeous with big trees.
Sounds cool. My old neighbor grew up in West Virginia told me some stories about road trips they took to Keeneland. Said it was his favorite place on earth. Said Del Mar was nice, but he preferred Keeneland.
He was pretty into horse racing.
Im waiting out the rain in NYC. Jonesing to go for my morning stroll. Need to pick up a New York Post and see what I missed in yesterday’s sports crossword.
Del Mar is the pinnacle of horse racing, IMO. I have a good Keenland story, maybe I’ll tell it in the next thread.
Baggs didn’t sound optimistic about Buster in his recap.
Jenkins went off on Shift in Chron. 2 suggestions from players/mgrs.: IF must have one foot in the dirt/2 players on each side of 2b.
Rules about where fielders can and can’t play crosses a line for me. The E strike zone is the significant change I totally support.
