Early morning diddy. Pom Pom needs to get it going.
Loo, thanks for posting that box score. Man, did Thrill get 3 hits every game or what? What a stud.

After how each of those 3 games started over the weekend, if we end up winning today and taking 3 of 4, I will be shitting myself…
Flem complaining that the Reds aren’t doing enough to honor Bochy and then goes on to talk about all the things they’ve done – gift of wine and other booze influenced paraphernalia, pregame PA announcement and whatnot. Really not getting the angst over Bochy’s farewell tour and which cities/orgs are living up to it. Is this really a thing to honor retiring managers of opposing teams?
I’ve never heard of it. Also, shouldn’t the Reds and their fans not even like Bochy? He basically stole that series from them in ’12
Yeah, same thing regarding St. Louis, where we went next and came back with 3 consecutive wins to take the pennant. So, I don’t see St Louis doing much for Bochy either.
I only remember Bobby Cox getting a farewell tour..
Geez Giants can’t get out of town quick enough in this white flag LU..
Pummelranz.
Good one Mac . . . Pummelranz, Smashg, Bleech, and Bombe.
Great stat I just heard . . . 22 of 30 Cincy runs came via the HR, approximately 73%. Whoops . . . With that bomb, it ups their average.
74%.
How about this being a farewell game for Pomeranz!
AK, how about the entire starting pitching staff, with the exception of Madbum?
Works for me Blade!
And wait till they hit Sherpa launch 🚀
I’m not a huge park factors guy. But this stadium is a joke. Hit a ball in the air, gone
Should of put Pomeranz’s face inside the bee’s cardboard box🐝🐝🐝🐝
Shit, travelling. early game blues already?
Shit. Another comeback?
the beginning of yet another comeback? You know what, I’m not buying this shit. It’s not resiliency to consistently go down 5, 7,8 runs a game before you start coming back. It is human nature for the team with the big lead to take a little gas off the pedal. Pitchers are throwing strikes, that’s what you’re supposed to do with a big lead. They are coming back but it’s mostly kind of a fake-comeback excluding the epic game they finished the deal and came back and won 11-10.
‘Watching’ game cast and it says. ‘Venditte pitching right handed’ ‘Venditte now pitching left handed.’
Crazy.
Maybe he should use his feet for fuck’s sake.
Now saying, “Venditte getting clobbered right handed, Venditte getting clobbered left handed.”
Hey, you take ’em of you can get ’em, Flav. 15-19 is a lot better than I thought they’d be. I figured they’d be 10 under .500 by now.
This Venditte cat is gone after this game. No way he makes the trip to Denver.
We’ve got a bunch of starting pitchers that are pitch-to-contact guys, and that doesn’t work well in this juice ball era.
Yeah, that’s a problem.
I’m very glad the juice ball was introduced AFTER the Giants won the 3-in-5.
Smoked ribs in the Dallas airport and they were pretty damn good. Washed down with a Texas Red ale.
Most excellent. Off to mobile.
I’ll be in Houston about this time tomorrow . . . Then off to Panama and Uruguay.
I’ll bet the Canal Zone, both sides, has changed a lot since the mid-70s. But Almirante, a pestilent port town in the Bocas del Toro Province, is probably the same. I got stuck there for a week, steering clear of the zopilotes in the muddy streets, waiting for a local freighter to hop to Colon. Keep your knife in your hand, many people advised, the entire time you’re in the Zone. But I’m sure a lot has changed, since then. And the San Blas islands must still be worth the trip. Que te vaya bien.
I’m not at all a conspiracy theorist type of person, but…..interesting how the juiced ball shows up after the Giants start winning a bunch of championships, and the World Series TV ratings aren’t the greatest.
Trivia question (no cheating 🙂 )
Gaylord Perry won his 300th game pitching for what team?
Mariners?
Cincy (and only because I think you’re being sneaky)?
Padres?
Indians?
Lansing Lugnuts?
That was an impressive amount of ineptitude for the Giants pitching staff that inning.
Hit 4 Reds batters, 2 with the baseloaded!
Tied an MLB record!
Alright Pablo joins the hit batter club!
If I’m a Giants hitter in the 9th I would ask for a pitcher to hit for me..
Reds hit 15 homers in that series.
Mix Great American and Oracle together and I think you could have 2 pretty fair ballparks.
Mac is correct! Gaylord got his 300th win with the Mariners. Like Randy Johnson getting his 300th with the Giants.
Carlton getting his 4000th k with the Giants.
Zaidi has kind of an inexplicable fascination with Venditte.
Much like Connor Joe from Kokomo
So Pomeranz….sucks?
1-4, 5.93 ERA? He swallows.
That was a heck of a trip through the Giants’ starting rotation.
Tired of looking at this sorry ass starting pitching staff!
Bring up Shaun Anderson just to get a fresh live arm up here, can’t be any worse and probably better..
Not to keep kicking the Longo trade, but……Tampa Bay is off to a great start this season, and they did exactly what they needed to do with Longo; find some team willing to trade for him. Probably no other execs except Sabean/Evans would have made that deal in the current analytics era.
I actually liked the trade the day we made it (I think most/all of us did).
But looking back, man did they time it right and fleece us.
Fleece us? We gave up Arroyo (who sucks).
But we took on that contract man. Its all about that wretched contract.
Sure, from that standpoint, yes. I’d say they saddled us more than we got fleeced, but that’s just semantics I guess
At the time, as soon as I saw mlbtr’s report that Longo was on the block, I knew Evans would grab him. A cold, cold feeling followed. I had no idea if he’d be ok for a year or two, but I was damn sure he wouldn’t be killing it through 2022. Was any other team interested, given TB’s willingness to pay some of the freight? I don’t know.
“a cold, cold feeling followed” …that’s fucking epic.
well, to be honest:
awesome zoot. Bay Area could get the road blues trifecta tonite–Giants Warriors lose, Sharks down a goal last 4 minutes to Colorado.
Warriors are killing me. They can’t shoot for shit. They are starting to get chippy. It;ll lose them this game if noit more. Then again, this is probably the toughest series they have if they get through it.
Nice pull, Xoot. Love me some Albert Collins.
If Steph and Klay aren’t shooting, these guys are going down. KD is the only one doing it.
Sharks 🦈 just tied it up 1-1 on a goal by Pickles Vlasic, win and they move on..
Don;t think I can find the Sharks game in Alabama!
Yeah you might have better luck finding a still..
The bench is doing nothing.
Dubs just getting out hustled , losing the boards badly. Then again more of a must win for Rockets, though you would like to get one out of the 2.
This is flat sad. Every 50/50 ball is gotten by Houston.
If we could shoot we might be able to come back.
What kills me is they play like shit for 45 minutes and claw back. If they played like they should, they’d be up 8.
Once again is it good news they play like shit all game and still push it to the end? Or is it bad news that we played like shit? Out boarded all game and out shot.
Maybe Thompson needs another swim.
Can’t ask for more 2 good looks at 3’s to tie it, back to GS for a pivotal game 5..
Don’t forget part of the Longo deal was Tampa taking last year of Span’s contract off Giants hands.
Are starting 5 feeling after the Cincy series.
I miss this dude.
Sharks tie it up, shot goes in off defenseman’s skate 3-3.
Sharks tie it up late 3-3 on a goal by pickles!!🦈🦈🦈
Overtime in Denver! Win this bitch and move on!!
Hank Aaron was born in Mobile too, and Billy Williams not far away in Whisler, part of unincorporated Mobile county about 7 miles north of there.
Cleon Jones & Tommie Agee somewhere around there, too…
Stabler nearby. Sorry. Not baseball. But . . . .
Hey, just drove by the Hank Aaron Stadium on I65 in Mobile yesterday and also a week ago (going to and from New Orleans). I’ve passed it many times but have never stopped. Last year we did take 59 down so I could stop by Regions Field, in Birmingham and check out the Mays statue. As fucked up as Alabama has been over the years and continues to be, gotta say some of the greatest ballplayers ever have escaped from there, Mays, McCovey, Aaron, Satchel Paige…
Any of them use Going Mobile by The Who for their walk up music 🎶?? I’m guessing not..
Sharks just choked in OT,game 7 winner take all in SJ🥺😫
