Ha that was great. Tremendous looking place too. Have fun Big Guy.
Funny Jenkins has column where he is ragging on how awful Opening Day baseball is. I watched all kinds of games yesterday and there’s more on today. Worst part is watching how bad the Giants are.

That was AWESOME 👏 Flavor, you’re mom was totally fooled and didn’t know what to think at first and whoever was throwing some expletive words your way was playing it to the hilt.Nice house, great to have a place on a golf course!!Get off my lawn you F—— bloat, he was spot on when to throw a nasty word your way u deranged golfer!
Hope they had a Bloody Mary waiting for you as you played thru!! Speaking which that’s a gorgeous looking golf course lined thru the pines, to test your accuracy. How’d you play?

Odd play that resulted in ground ball dribbler to P with baserunner going 1b to 3b.
Hernandez (that guy again) is on first, Seager LH is up Giants have shift on with Flores (3b) playing normal 2b defensive spot and Craw behind 2b bag little to left of it. Dribbler just to right of mound is fielded by Coonrod who throws to Sandoval and they get out at 1b.

Craw moves in to cover 2b(???), Hernandez sees he has angle and takes off for 3b with no one there and makes it without a throw. Kruk covered for Craw and said C Brantly should have been there. Really? Flores could have gotten to 2b though Hernandez was gonna be there safely so why bother with 2b anyway?
If Brantly went to 3b that would mean plate was uncovered with Coonrod and Sandoval on other side of diamond.
    somebody obviously f-ed up here.

Craw got caught in a bad situation I saw in I think was one of the A’s exhibition games. Same situation, LH at plate runner on 1b shift is on. Batter lines base hit to CF, and Craw, who isn’t as agile as he used to be to put it mildly, then has to race over and cover 3b while runner with head of steam up is barreling over there too.

Not sure of how to better defend this, unless either SS plays closer to bag on the shift, or you get lot quicker and more agile player to play that spot. Analytics from statcast or Hawk Eye cameras that track every ball put in play from every hitter will show you where ball will go, but how to lessen runner advantage on advancing simply by beating SS over to 3b, idk.

It’s funny how well the Giants looked and played when they swept the A’s in that mini series and now look like a completely lost club as I was thinking they had alittle momentum goin in..

The Panda/Taylor play has gone viral,”Down goes Frazier “
Really that was on Taylor for running with his head down and not realizing what could happen. Dave Roberts joked that was like running into a fire hydrant!!

I agree with Kat. I have been perplexed watching the last two (well, 1.5) Giant games. I thought they look OK against the A’s and they have looked like dog shit against the bums.

I won’t lie either. A friend texted me about the A’s game. I resisted. But when the wheels came-off for the Giants, I went over around the 4th, and predominantly watched the A’s – Angels. Now that was an entertaining baseball game. A’s with the walk-off salami in the bottom of the 9th to win it (Angels had bases juiced in top-half and could not score). Wish the Giants had some young studs who can play ball.

  13. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 said, on July 25, 2020 at 9:23 am

I still feel Jaylin Davis is all they have along with Yaz as a player that needs to be out there EVERYDAY!
Why pussyfoot around with him ? He can be a 5 tool player with more experience and that bomb last night going with the pitch and driving it out was a thing of beauty showing the abilities to hit to all fields. And screw the platoon scenario he hit that off Stripling a right hander!
Play my Boy every game! Only him,Dubon and Yaz are the ones that I get excited about watching and all 3 need to be on the field consistently…

    • willedav's avatar willedav said, on July 25, 2020 at 9:29 am

I like Dickerson too as a guy who can provide power and get on base but man he looked awful last night. Like others, he kept waving at Stripling’s high fastballs out of zone, and flailing at curve balls in the dirt.
I think they get Wood this afternoon so hopefully Davis will be in there, with Slater and Ruf too, maybe Solano for Crawford who didn’t have great game either.

Agree with The Kat. I also liked his right field swing approach. And he almost had another HR going that way. Every at bat Pence gets is an at bat taken away from Davis. Who knows if Davis can play at the MLB level, only way to find out is to play him at the MLB level.

Sandoval shouldn’t be in the lineup vs lefties.

Yaz can hit lefties so he should be in the everyday line-up.

I like Dubon’s swing, needs a little more plate discipline.

Chi, we do have at least one young stud ready to go right now. His name is Joey Bart. I didn’t read the earlier posts. Are the Giants going to call him up next week? If so here is my next week’s line-up vs lefties:

    Dubon 2B
    Yaz CF
    Flores 3B
    Davis RF
    Bart C
    Ruf DH
    Slater 1B
    Dickerson LF
    Solano SS

That’s four players I could watch and pull for: Dubon, Yaz, Davis, Bart.

Yes, right handed heavy. But you can mix and match in innings 6 through 9.

I might be in the minority but I miss Longoria, he actually came around last year and played solid ball overall and his defense is far superior then having Flores/Panda over at the hot corner!
But yes you can mix and match after 6 innings are so to balance the LU out.

Even with all the fuckups, the Spare Parts have brought in three tallies against a so-so pitcher. Perhaps the LaBumbos rotation is not as deep as advertised, what with the departure of their off-season pickup and Opie’s aching back. Pence looks to be Dog-meat. Maybe they should let him stay in LA–even though the DOdGers wouldn’t ever have signed him.

Dubon looks overmatched so far this season.

      Like Pence!
Guess I don’t want it to happen but I wonder if Pence might have broken his left hand?

How many catchers does this team need to sign?
Doesn’t bode well for seeing Bart now..
Hermann Munster has a lifetime batting avg of .205 and obp .282?
So you have Heineken who’s actually ripping the ball, Brantly meh,Tromp is he on the taxi squad? Now Munster? They won’t have 2 catchers on the taxi squad right?

      I’ll take him…

Herman Munster can DH for Pence, I have no quarrel with that!

Tromp I saw is hurt-hammy I think. He and Sanchez both aren’t bad enough to go on IL but not ready to play.
they could always dump Brantly back down to other group–lot of pitchers to catch and keep working down there.

Was Slater in there safely and then came off the bag? Props for getting on base though, 3 times already.

He slid headfirst but still came off the bag. Gotta grab that bag.
