Great Win
Solano and Yaz. And how bout that boater risking it all and diving in for the splash hit? At .500 even with Pence at .000 and Pablo at 300 (pounds).
I shot this very lame video on the way back into town yesterday but if you are a Giants fan who hasn’t ever been out to the park it’ll give you a good idea of where Oracle is located in relation to The City.
GREAT comeback win for this scrappy-ass team. At 6-2, I had little hope. Dick’s blast brought it to 6-3, and then SoLongo with his blast to tie it. They MUST find a way to keep Solano in the lineup pretty regularly even after the remainder of the Bore Four return. Yaz with two in the drink, and yes, it was sweet seeing the dude go into the water to get his game-winner.
Here is the shot from MLB that willedav mentioned last night…
https://www.mlb.com/video/mike-yastrzemski-walks-it-off?t=rallies
awesome
Another great shot/perspective of Yazzie’s walk-off.
Inspiration unlimited.
idk, closing the arches didn’t seem to have anything to do with that one. Kuiper knew it right away, Miller too.
Interesting that Solano bomb and that last one from Yaz both off same handed pitchers, and that Kapler left them and Dickerson in all night regardless. So maybe less platooney stuff and Giants better hitters are in there all the time going forward.
That Yaz bomb is up there with Gillaspie shot into Mets bullpen I could watch forever.
That guy in the kayak named Dave ended up with both of Yaz’s splash hits even if the second one landed him and his kayak flipped over in the drink!
Pretty impressive getting both balls, Congrats Dave!
It’s always nice to be the proud owner of a couple of balls.
lulz…
I know I am! The Family Jewels, baby!
Magic moments. This time yesterday I never would have even thought I’d be saying this. Had I been thinking we’ll win this, it would more likely have been something like Cueto throwing six innings of two-run ball and the team pulling it off -3-2 with a single-shot homer and some fine bullpen work.
With that marvel of a come-back, it seems we all musta been pleasantly shocked. After all, how long has it been that the team didn’t wilt and die with the starter being blasted and down by four? Recent years Giants comebacks have been about as common as bicuspids on a Rhode Island Red. We laid all too many eggs…scrambled. But that get up and go got up and done it.
Looks like this bunch has got heart. Clean out some of the dead-wood (we can–again–blame institutional loyalty to those 3 even-year rings and flags. Go out with the one who took you to the dance. ) Unfortunately, baseball doesn’t always work that way. Remember when Boston hit the cellar the year after bringing home the marbles and in that off-season they promptly cleaned house? Giants didn’t do that in ’17, ’18 and ’19. Magic can only carry you so far. After that narrow loss to the Cubs in ’16 the handwriting was on the wall. So here we are, amidst a massive re-build after three years of floundering.
Today is a new day. Last night signaled the starting-gun of the turnaround. Lottsa obstacles along the way, though, with loaded teams throughout both Western divisions. There will be stumbles, particularly in assembling a viable rotation. Way things look from here is that Webb COULD emerge as our ace by season’s end. Cueto? Who knows? Likely better than last night, though. Smardj? Mentioned it after his melt-down. Can we even dream of him being a reliable starter in this, his last pre-F.A. season? He might struggle along and become a halfassedly reliable 3-5 inning starter, but don’t hold your breath. Too bad Beede is out for the season. Will Smyly and Gausman earn their keep? Question marks. We have a couple young starters in the system who did fine at Richmond. One or both of them are not unlikely to get the call before September’s end.
Inner core hitters pretty much I.D.ed themselves last night. Three or four others look to contribute on a somewhat haphazard basis. By channeling his inner Bochy,, Kapler may get a fairly decent bullpen sorted out. Nice to see Crawford recover some of his pride last night. He may need to be semi-platooned, but could contribute. Bart should show up sooner or later–hopefully the former.
What we do know after last night is that this getting it together bunch does have spirit. They are guys on the make–not a bunch of lollygaggling quitters. You know what? Ups and downs all over the place, but after six in the books, this season could be fun.
Quite a compliment Yaz gave Donavan Solano .
He called him the best hitter he has ever seen.
We call him Donnie Barrel for his ability to barrel up so many balls ⚾️
Wow. That game was impressive. You gotta like a team that just doesn’t give up. We got some pop.
Ya gotta hand it to the best dumpster-diver in all of baseball–the Z-Man. Zaidi pulled Yaz, Dick and Solano off the trash-heap. Yes, a lotta credit hasta go to the scouts and evaluators as well, keeping Mr. Z posted on possibilities, but if this team has begun to resurrect its magic, my hat’s off to the magician who pulls rabbits outta his hat.
Amazing riposte and response time, Chi. How do you come up with this stuff?
tremendous show. “But that trick never works.”
yep, all we need is our pitching to shore up and we could be competitive. We are giving up the long ball way to much
In relation to Stix’s 8:20, I think we can all agree the Giants should have burned it down after that loss to the Cubbies in ’16. And now we deal with the current BS and slow-go on the rebuild.
But with some of the kids we have in the pipeline, I truly am looking forward to ’22. Next year will be another transition year, as we’ll still have some of the dead weight.
Unsung hero has gotta be T. Anderson for cleaning up after the Cueto/S. Anderson mess and keeping the Pads scoreless for 4 innings. And how dumb do those two Pads who got picked off first in the 8th look now?
Good insight.
Rallying from 4 down matches biggest come-from-behind wins this season with four others — Brewers, Royals, Pirates, Tigers.
Good line by Scott Ostler for the Oakland home opener.
“Was it me, or was the Coliseum crowd kind of flat?”
Let’s get a win today. That will pull us even with the pads at 4-3. Rox outta the gate fast at 4-1. Bums at 4-2 and D-backs at 2-4.
Nice to be in the mix. Unfamiliar territory, that. Best part was that it came against a couple of pretty good bullies late in the game.
Interesting in that both games Pads have lost were due to pen meltdowns. Highly regarded closer Yates cost them other one vs. AZ.
mlb site says Gascan gets his start tonite. Pads start Lamet who dominated AZ first time around.
Nothing on Longo Belt or corresponding roster moves off Top 30? Mac is right Tyler Anderson great outing. I think this guy has to stay and could benefit from pitching at the O; he could start again or go 3-4 innings if need be.
Couple of Phills staff just tested positive for Covid.
This is after a couple of days from the Marlins series.
If some of the Phills players test positive, this is going to get serious…
Hmmmmm. This at least answers the question, how fast do you test positive after being exposed? They had all tested negative the day before.
And what pisses me off is it takes 10 – 15 days to get a test result back while these guys get instant results and tests on demand.
my son got tested yesterday at the Allen Temple Baptist Church drive-thru in East Oakland and they promised results within “2-8 days.” Meanwhile, he and his girlfriend are quarantined at their home. Symptoms are scary, but don’t seem to be worsening. Actually sounds like what caused WilcoJoe to get tested recently, as he described it here. There’s really no excuse for these long delays in providing results except for lack of federal leadership and deployment. Rich and powerful people get results very quickly. As to everyone else — let them eat covid.
If they can trace Phills’ sickness back to it having had to come from the Marlins exposure, which may be hard to confirm, then that says the MLB protocols for safe playing don’t work, or at best, aren’t being adequately followed…
Bailey joins Bart as both learn 1st sack in Sacto…

Joey Bart…come on down. Let’s see that “sooner rather than later” come to fruition…

Looks like Longo and Belt get starts tonight. They’d better use Solano as the DH. If they bench him after his night last night, it would be ridiculous.
Solano has done nothing but put bat on ball since he joined this squad. He should be getting ABs every damn game…
wouldn’t you like to see Solano at 2B and Wilmer DHing? I would. Pablo needs a rest. He can fast and cardio all day, first.
Ridiculous? I think we could even elevate that to disrespectfully obscene.
Surprising comeback and great night by Yaz and Mr. RBI Solano. Just think about where these guys would be right now if they had brought back Pillar instead of Pence.
The Red Sox are 2-4 so far. That’s at least a little ironic so far. 🙂
Small sample size, but Pillar is hitting .571 with 1.571 OPS. And he came off the bench last night with pinch-hit single to start the winning rally vs. the Mets.
Also made a fine play in the field the other night…
Agree, Clown. I cannot recall what type of coin Pillar was wanting, but he is making about 4 mil this year (about 1.5 when adjusted for the short season). I think he is definitely worth the difference. Pillar batting .571 (8 for 14 with a HR). I would take him over the reverend in a heartbeat.
Ever since I first read that Pillar was being dropped my head has been shaking with eyeballs rolling.
Plus he can play the field.
It’s kinda cool knowing an all-time great is rooting for the Giants. From Heyman:
Yaz indeed! Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski did stay up to watch grandson Mike Yastrzemski’s walkoff home run into McCovey Cove off Padres LHP Matt Strahm at 12:39 ET from his home just north of Boston.
And from Baggs: Tonight’s game was just the Giants’ fifth four-HR home game in 13 seasons in the post-Barry Bonds era.
Bozo neither would have been the best choice. Every AB by Pence (or Pillar) is an at bat not taken by a young guy who needs them, in a lost year. J Davis has power. We need power. He should be in the lineup 6 days a week. If he gets <100 ABs SF goes in to next year still not knowing if he is MLB caliber. A travesty
My gut says Zaidi brought in vets like Pence, Panda and Flores to hopefully catch lightning in a bottle or have tradeable parts if the team was out of contention at the deadline. I have to think the possibility of getting young guys for older guys that he got on the cheap is probably worth more to Zaidi than 20 or so extra ABs for Davis.
I agree that Davis is an exciting player with all the tools but I don’t think the season or rebuild stops with him. Unless Pillar was asking for a no-trade clause he would have made more sense than a player who on his best days, could only have been a bat off the bench or a DH.
Macdog. That is sick. Wondering if LA and or Yankess had 10 of those just last year?
Early meaningless lineups:
SS F. Tatis R
3B M. Machado R
LF Tommy Pham R
2B J. Profar S
1B Eric Hosmer L
RF Wil Myers R
DH Ty France R
C F. Mejia S
CF T. Grisham L
CF M. Yastrzemski L
DH W. Flores R
1B Brandon Belt L
3B E. Longoria R
LF A. Dickerson L
C T. Heineman S
SS B. Crawford L
RF Jaylin Davis R
2B M. Dubon R
unbelievable. Let’s hope it’s wrong.
If that line-up sticks for los gigantes, that sucks. Solano should be in the line-up, but I guess Dubon needs to get in there regularly, too.
An embarrassment of riches? That’s something I never expected this season.
I see an opening there, at SS.
Belt..lol!!! Win and Flodger loss would get us a 3 way tie…
For 2nd…
First night I zonked out for a game and wow what a wake up surprise…
Fuck me sideways. I knew it. Belt, Longo and Crawfish. They should at least do Solano the honor of letting him start over Crawfish for one fucking game.
I wouldn’t have minded Pillar so much as at least he can play in the field, and it wasn’t that much money. I mean, they went out and got Flores so they wanted some kind of immediate help. But these vets need to be told NOW that this isn’t about them. It is about the new talent. If they don’t like it they can walk. Claim COVID. Whatever. They should not be getting this many starts.
The vets can hopefully be used as tradeable parts at the deadline if the season goes in the tank. I think Zaidi likes to have tradeable parts around.
Giants would probably have to eat some salary…not holding my breath…
I think it would take a perfect storm of all these things to move Belt or Crawford this season:
1) They would have to be healthy.
2) They would have to be playing reasonably well.
3) A contending team would have to suffer a season ending injury to their 1B or SS.
4) They would have to waive their no trade clause (Belt – limited / Crawford – full)
5) Giants would have to pick up a very substantial portion of their salary due next season.
I just can’t see it this year.
Maybe in 2021, when both contracts are in their final year…
You nailed it, Loo. Agree…
I think I did!
Actually, I was talking more about the vets Zaidi signed this season but yeah Loo, those are great points about the already contacted vets. I would add this to your list though, 6) A team loses all their 60 man SS/3B/1B player(s) and have to field a team.
Yaz and Belt homered off Lamet in Aug. 30 game last year.
Are you shittin’ me?
So after 6 games, does Kapler seem like a “play the kids” type of mgr. at all, for position players? Outside of Dubon and Davis, there aren’t any beside the Cs. Solano is as old as Sandoval and as Loo pointed out Ruf is 34. Now that he has Belt and Longo back, guarantee they ain’t sitting except for Belt maybe vs. LHP. Crawford might be in same boat, but those 3 hits I’m sure didn’t go unnoticed.
The LU such as is ain’t that bad—Yaz Dick Dubon Davis Flores the old guys and a kid C. Pads have to be pissed so let’s see if Gascan and his mates can keep ball in the yard tonite.
I dig the travel video, Flavor.
Maybe some day I’ll move out of Brooklyn.
Anybody want me for a neighbor?
We can have catches, play stickball, hit the bars…
What are studio apartments going for where you guys live?
You’re always welcome here in Jersey!
Well, not according to the Controlled Dangerous Substance Registry…
Loo – you’re always welcome here in Old Hangtown (Placerville). Blade and I would be honored to have you as neighbors.
Apartments? Here? I just did a search and there is zero available in Placerville. If you go west about 10 miles to Cameron Park (where my son lives) 1 BR apartments are $1200-$1400. Fucking crazy rental market out here…just not enough affordable housing.
Any report on who went where in order for Belt and Longo to be activated off IL?
Nothing listed on the Giant’s site. Last moves listed are the Brantly/Tromp moves.
I’m sure Kapler is trying his best to win the game that day, each day.
I don’t claim to get the Pence thing. Pence’s 2019 in Texas seems like an hallucination.
Pence was willing to humiliate himself all season in ‘18 for $18 million; but I wonder how much humiliation he is willing to endure in ‘20 for $1 million.
Hopefully not much more. I can’t handle any more of his humiliation. It’s killin’ me…
ouch. Mc Carthy I can understand. duggar for Davis whoa. He can play CF and shove Yaz to corner along with Dick and Slater. I guess Giants feel LH hitters weaker overall than RH. Meanwhile Pence is still around?
thx Mac
DAVIS?!?! Fuuuuuuck. They need to COVID Pence.
Kat exploding in 3….2….1….
Yeah Zumie,
IM AS MAD AS HELL AND IM NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!
I Really wished the Giants hired Chili Davis as their hitting coach, he would be getting the most out of Jaylin’s talent then whoever clown 🤡 we have now!
You would of thought after the 2 imbecile they had last year Powell&Schu who I was criticizing all last year they would have learned and bring in a reputable former Giant who knows the game well and was a consistent hitter through out, and in my opinion has the longevity and numbers good enough to get in the HOF but sadly won’t..
I’m fucking pissed 😡 off at the Giants braintrust involving Jaylin Davis!!
Jesus atleast he has a HR and a batting average, and he can field and run.He needed to be playing everyday period!!
What does Pence have? No fucking BA in what 17AB’s one owie on his hand, which unfortunately he didn’t break it, a player that useless in the field as well taking up a roster spot cause Kapler feels he has value firing up the troops! Shit he doesn’t even have Gary Brown around to rub his noggin during COVID-19. You fire up players with BASEHITS which he’s unable to do anymore!!!
Dany Jiminez questionable off they could of harness his talent, did have good stuff just control issues.Wont know now if he turns it around since he now goes back to his previous club..
McCarthy totally overmatched like Pence should of never broke camp with them imo..
I agree Kat!
Keeping Pence around while moving out Davis is fucking ridiculous.
I kinda like Duggar, so I am fine with him coming in for McCarthy, who I know nothing about at all.
Is my boy Mike Gerber still in our system?
I liked what I saw from Jiminez. Wiry strong, stylish delivery, reminded me a bit of Latroy Hawkins.
Oh well, I’ll always have the memories of the 4 or 5 outs he got in a Giants uniform to fall back on.
The Pence thing is so baffling.
Why the hell did we want to bring him back?
Why did he even want to come back to SF?
Seems to me he should have stayed in Texas.
Maybe they were done with him too for some reason.
I like Duggar coming up, but at the expense of Davis? Fuck no. Pence should have been DFA’d, PERIOD.
Looks like a new lineup:
Yaz CF
Dickerson LF
Solano 2B
Belt 1B
Longoria 3B
Sandoval DH
Crawford SS
Heineman C
Duggar RF
Gausman RHP.
Solano had to be in there.
Belt at cleanup? Been ragging on this for years. He’s simply not an RBI man. Check the stats. Evidently Kap didn’t do that. As a rather better than average OBP hitter (he draws walks like shit draws flies) BB9 should be in the two-hole.
Pablo at DH? Solano or Flores would be better most games. By season’s end, Sandoval may well be a threat off the bench in late innings. Only thing Duggar has over Davis is more MLB experience. Hell, for that matter so does Pence. In fact, unless its a L-R thing, Dick and Belt should be switched around. That way Dick is below the Belt. Makes sense to me anyway.
Assume Craw gets the nod due to his 3 hits last night. He probably would have started regardless.
I would swap Wilmet with Pablo as DH. Or Slater. Really, anyone…Pablo hasn’t done shit of late. He needs to sit his fat ass down for a while, IMO.
Agree with Wilmet for Pablo.
BTW, I watched Wilmer play a bunch with the Mets and never saw his fielding be as bad as it has been here. Hoping it is just a temporary nerves thing while adjusting to a new team. He ain’t Brooks Robinson, but he’s not as bad as he has shown here.
Mac/Loo—thoughts on that as east coasters who know him well?
Duggar in RF is also a bit odd to me as I think he is the best CF we have had in years, but Yaz is on a roll, so I am fine with not disturbing his groove.
Great point by Baggs today saying it may be time to view Yaz as a foundational piece–even if he is about to turn 30.
Justin Turner ended up being a late bloomer.
Mac would know better.
I just remember a few years ago they were very sure they had found his best defensive position.
I think it was 2B…
I don’t remember seeing much of Flores at 3B for the Mets, mostly middle infield.
I’m not high on Davis.
So far he’s been a .167 hitter who K’s too much.
Are we just desperate for change or is he really a big time prospect?
Sorry Kat.
Not dazzled by Dubon either…
Of course he’s not a great prospect. There’s a reason the Brewers gave him up to us for bullpen depth, BUT he does seem to have some tools and we have so few prospects, that he is one guy I am excited to give some AB’s to and see if we maybe get lucky and he can play a little bit.
Same goes for Dubon. I’m not expecting these guys to become stars, but lets see what they got.
You and I thought Yaz was gonna suck too, and he is starting to prove us wrong.
I think Dubon is going to grow into a nice player. Not a star, as you say sandog, but a solid player who can play multiple position. And no offense Kat, but I feel the same about JDavis re: star quality. I would have liked to seen more of Davis, but he did not garner “everyday consideration” IMO.
A Joe Panik sighting in the Blue Jays game.
Several weeks ago Herman Cain tweeted that wearing a mask is bogus, then he went to Trump’s Covid-fest in Tulsa, and today he died of Covid.
At some point the Trump cult turned into a death cult.
Apparently there are droves of Evangelicals dying throughout the South.
Trump is busily trying to mail their votes in.
There’s some theories about how the GOP became so anti-science. Some believe a key thing is when the tobacco companies fought hard against the medical world to discredit scientists. Then the oil companies saw that and used some of the same tactics to attack climate scientists.
And the pattern was set about how to aggressively fight against science.
well they believe the “scientists” they pay to testify to help their projects get through Congress. and have always bought the company line from Pentagon, on stuff like Agent Orange.
Gives a whole new meaning to the expression “getting Cained”…
High or not, Davis shouldn’t be losing ABs to defrocked Rev. Terrible decision.
Agree.
“That way Dick is below the Belt.”
Well done!
Bill Clinton looks like hell…
To be somewhat fair, he was a heavy guy who lost a lot of weight and got healthier, and as is often the case, the loose skin makes a former heavy person look wrinkly and older.
I say “healthier” in a relative sense. He had to have major heart surgery, as he was heading towards a heart attack. He’s admitted he had lousy eating habits for much of his life.
The classic Southern diet in general is problematic.
I believe he has been a vegan for some time, now. Doc probably told him to change his lifestyle, or else…
so does Joe Namath in those medicare extra benefits (from an insurance co as disclaimers note) commercials. I cringe every time I see one.
Me, too.
Getting old is the worst…
How to explain Keith Richards?…..
I;m reading his book ‘Life’ and he attributes his longevity to the quality of the drugs he took all his life. He always got the best smack. He also said that the pure coke he was snorting, one line would last all night, and he used it methodically. Also learned that Keith didn’t mainline heroin but shot it into his muscles. Never knew that was an option. Knew about snorting but not in the muscle.
I saw Richards in his solo X-Pensive Winos band in 1987 and thought he looked 5 years past dead.
Great show, though. ,the only time I saw the Stones, they were pretty awful. Last show of the Some Girls tour.
The wait was 3 hours after Santana played.
I read somewhere that he used to go to Canada to get blood transfusions. Kinda like dialysis.
You can muscle pop pure dope it’s the cutter that turns you into a human abscess.
He must have smoked pickling spices…
Who knew Keith was such a health nut?
What’s next, an exercise video?
The biggest question beginning tonight:
How does Zumiee plan to use Chandler?
The Chandler power must be used wisely.
I’m thinking this “season” will last two weeks more, maybe 3 at most.
I think more Phills will test+, and you’ll have 2 teams hamstrung.
Then, probably another one ot two will have some players test +. At some point, you can’t fiddle around with the schedule enough to fix the holes in it, and have teams end up with radically different #s of games played…
I think you are right.
About Davis yes he might got off to a slow start but dumping him after only 12AB’s is silly.
You have to have a longer choke collar then that.
Maybe cause Duggar has more experience with 400+ more AB’s but that doesn’t make him a better player. And with a history of injury problems to boot.Hope he holds up, but track record says no..
Not sure what Davis will do in Sac to make him better. He tore up AAA, so he needs to see MLB pitching every day to see how he can handle it, get familiar with it, develop some confidence. 12 ABs is not enough to decide to send him packing…
Now 7 inning games? Our Man Fred is outta control.
They just want to give the World Series trophy to somebody and then just split the heck outta there.
HR derby playoffs, maybe?
just settling back into these. Yikes now that I just found out Trump is eye balling me with everything else going on in the Oval Office it could be time for me to step up since I’m AM a patriot and all…..
Fuck,
We just pulled your July End-of-Month Deadline Donor File:
Supporter: Fuck You
End-of-Month Gift: MISSING
We wanted to reach out because we just got off a call with President Trump to review the most recent list of Patriots who contributed to our critical $25,000,000 July End-of-Month Goal, and he noticed your name was MISSING.
There’s not much time left to contribute, and as one of his TOP supporters, President Trump is counting on YOU to step up.
Too Funny.
Shoot, in private Drumpf must be mentioning your name all the time when he yells at his minions about the latest polls…
“Longoria admitted there will be soreness, saying, “I’m as healthy as I’m going to get at this point.” He has been rehabbing for about a week and a half, with baseball activity the past three or four days, he said over Zoom, as he saw pitches from machines.
Beyond his oblique holding up, the question will become whether his timing will be there right from the start.
Asked if it’s normal to be playing after not seeing live pitching, Longoria said: “Nothing about this year is all that normal.””
Wonder now if Jaylin Davis is thinking “Black Lives Don’t Matter” on this team!
that’s a stretch. He’s just ok dude, he’s just ok.
Davis will be back up in no time, you guys are freaking out over nothing.
none of this shit bothers me in the slightest. Did you guys catch that Jazz game? Sports are back, for however long, and I for one am ECSTATIC.
look at these glorious goofballs. Everything but the boning.
As long as they get their 1,246 playoff games in, the owners will be happy. I’m a little more optimistic about this season. they stopped the 2 teams involved, so there’s hope it is contained.
For a long time I thought Kruk was about one beer 🍺 away from saying something that would get him fired.
I think he’s gotten past it.
He made a great observation last night about Tromp dropping his target before every pitch.
Amazing he got to the majors doing that…
So, are K&K doing all the TV this year and Miller and Fleming all radio?
I think so. No exchanging of broadcast booths.
zumiee- Have you heard the paul mccartney oobu joobu stuff?
Heard of it, but haven’t listened to any of it yet.
Same old.
Kuiper often sounds disinterested / distracted to me.
At least on post game radio, since they are all separated and Kuiper has no access to park food, he’s not chewing and slurping his way through it, so far. I’d be for retiring him soon…
Diggin Heineken’s walkup music “Magic Man “ by Heart ❤️
He’s a magician on the side entertaining his teammates..
gold
wild pitch or could that have been blocked?
just a bad bounce? Didn’t look that bad pitch at first glance. Gascon down 1-0. Saw a stat said Giants SPs getting not many outs compared to rest of league.
I’ve said it before: as much as he loves working with Krukow, Kuiper doesn’t have the job he most would love to have. He would prefer to be the #1 radio guy and have Miller be the #1 TV guy. Kuiper has more energy and fun doing radio.
i highly doubt this. The only reason they’re still working together is because they get to work together. You think either of them would be slogging through all this to work with other guys? No fucking way.
Listen to him when he does radio. He doesn’t sound sloggy on radio. Energy level is different. He gets to tell more stories and paint the picture.
Just my opinion.
Kind of a moot point this season.
they’re both old and financially set for life. Both have indicated they will retire when the other one does first (likely Kruk first). Maybe he is better on the radio he’s been pretty awful on TV for years.
Getting to watch game on Fox tonight. So far I’ve been reasonably surprised by Gausman’s pitches. Should that one have gotten away from Heinie?
I thought his effort was good.
The ump looks like he flips a bird when he calls strikes.
Belt, lol.
This guy is tough though. 98 plus slider.
not like his buddy Longo did any better.
They ain’t called the Bore Core for nothing. 🙂
Thank God for Belt and Longo. 4 Ks? 8 LOB? Yay! And we’re in the 3rd inning.
Grisham is a damm good ball player with pop in his bat.,
Mentioned it earlier in the thread: Lineup poorly arranged. Belt below Dick was not a good idea. The vet’s still a bit rusty and looking at that heat after all that time down doesn’t help a bit. Dickerson is an RBI man. Belt ain’t, but with the good eye and OBP. Duggar looked weak. Did Gaby Baby hafta work him in right away? Yes Kap is testing it all out, however, the game is primarily about winning, not dipping your toes in the water.
Just Win Baby…
