Giants Winning, LA Reeling
Taking 3 in a row from the Art Dealers was something I didn’t expect to see. But it is eagerly welcomed. Bullpen gave up 4 runs again but ONLY 3 were earned! More progress? This can’t go on like this……
I am bullish on Cueto today. Let’s keep the streak going!
Today is the most important day to honor and observe. “The ultimate sacrifice.” As the old saying goes, “if you can read this thank a teacher. If it’s in English thank a veteran.”
As Muncy put it Sunday: “They were never a bad team. They just couldn’t put it together. They’re a good team.”
And that is the understatement of the year.
Well they’re good to him…
Angels just got through taking 2 in a row from A’s up here to salvage 4 game split.
Baragar to the IL with elbow problem (yeow), Tropeano back up.
Supposed to be 80 in the City today, 1 PM start. Could be some fireworks, and Giants hit fewer bombs at home vs. on road. Angels have Ohtani and Rendon in middle of lineup and pesky SS Fletcher, plus Loo’s guy Juan Lagares in CF. No DH though, NL ball.
Cueto and Wood then day off Wed before Cubs, atop NL Central with Cards, come in for 4.
103 in the Calif. Central Valley today. 🙂
Is anyone else annoyed by the way the British call vaccination shots “jabs”? I don’t even know why it annoys me.
I dunno. To me it’s actually more of a jab than a “shot”…
It’s a good thing we defeated the British in the Revolutionary War, or we’d be speaking British English now.
Dumb joke, I know. 🙂
and I do not have the patience to stop what I’m doing for fucking tea time.
Tea is bloody awful…
So sad there’s actually people that enjoy tea.
I couldn’t even put my fat fingers thru those ridiculous dainty small rose petal tea cups and to hold the just as ridiculous matching saucer , can’t do it! Give me a cup of Joe every time over stuckup snobby tea toddling folks…
i’d pay $ to watch you try to get your finger in there….
I like tea.
I like ice tea (or is it iced tea?) Whichever it is.
I’ve never even tried it.
To me, it’s just hot tea that got cold…
Something like Peace Tea is cool. Not that over-sugared thing in the South called sweet tea.

Angels1b Jared Walsh hit 12th bomb yesterday. Hitting .308 with .943 OPS. They also have familiar faces ex Card Kolten Wong at 2b, back up C Kurt Suzuki (hmmnn) and closer Raisel Iglesias from Reds, born in Cuba.
The Giants are playing amazing baseball considering they have played the least amount of home games then anyone in baseball going 14-7 ( seems the reason for a low HR total at home. And yet here they are going 19-13 on the road to tie for the most in wins in baseball on the road!
They are due for along stretch of home cooking which should improve their record even better, they are totally in a great position right now.Yes the dogpile&Friars aren’t going away and this is the best division in baseball but nobody should be counting out the Giants ( especially mlb network, espn, etc , give them they’re rightful due, and that goes with Freakin Power rankings as well!!!with what they have pulled off they should be 1 are 2 right now..
Yes tough loss on Barager since he was the most reliable lefty in the pen, time for Garcia to step up more, next man up not named McGoof ball goes in late in the usual tight game.
https://sports.yahoo.com/longest-day-mets-history-135528218.html
great story, thanks. Poor Kranepool, iron man.
Wow- I can’t remember hearing of that before. Lots of quirky things in the story.
“In between games, Kranepool recalls having a quick meal. “It was a cup of soup,” he says. “It’s not like today, when they have all these chefs in the clubhouse. We had nothing — crackers and soup. Most of the time, it was chicken noodle.”
No one knew that it would be so long before they ate again. Game two took so long that fans got hungry, too. Concessions stands ran out of hot dogs, recalls Jay Horwitz, the Mets team historian who was at the game as a 19-year-old Giants fan. “In the 20th inning, I got a bag of potato chips,” Horwitz says.”
The news about “Sonny” Barager is very disturbing…
Lol, outlaws just get old and die.
Just hit buttonwillow. Getting warm
Couldn’t get enough sun ☀️ here Chuck?
Gotta be cranking 105 at Buttonwillow today..
Near Bakersfield, yeah that area is an epicenter of heat.
Sacramento here, will be a cool 104, with the low only going to 62. Lake Tahoe will be a nice 75 for the high and 41 for the low. Great win for the Giants, and yes the BP is still a problem. You have to believe that Zadi is looking at other teams to see what is out there.
Yeah what’s cool is the Giants have money to burn are possible players to trade to upgrade this bullpen. They’re definitely buyers coming up at this rate..
Yeah like driving thru lovely Needles Cá.Your air conditioning better be working top knotch cause it will be working overtime..Needles is the armpit of extreme misery with heat that’s constant like Death Valley 🏜
It is supposed to be in the 80’s up here, I can’t fucking wait. We have 91/2 months of cold and rain and a very short time to enjoy the sun. Every time is stays in the 80’s for a week or so we end up getting fire alerts and air quality bullshit. There are no emissions control here and supposedly we live in the most highly concentrated pollen areas in the states.
I first tried the cold tea Peace Tea while walking the walkway next to the Bay to a Giants game. Someone was giving people a free can of it out of coolers in the back of a pick-up truck. It was a promotion. I liked the tea. I became a regular purchaser of it. The promotion worked on me.
The only tea I’ll try is an Arnold Palmer with vodka.. sometimes straight is ok lol ..
Are my Summer must have drink 🍹 A Lynchburg Lemonade
made with Jack Daniels, sweet&sour mix ( gives u the lemonade look)
7-up, and triple sec garnish with an orange wedge/ cherry optional..
When I was drinking my summer go to was gin and lemonade. I used to make pitchers of the stuff.
Casey Anthony has been seen out partying and looking for love. As long as the guy doesn’t mind going out with a woman who murdered her little daughter, put her in a plastic bag, kept the body in the trunk of her car for a few weeks, and then dumped the body in the woods. Unless that’s a deal-breaker for the guy.

OK, that photo is 10,000 times bigger than I thought it was going to be. Sorry about that.
I wonder if she noticed the bartender was taking a photo of her.
She probably got free dinks for letting him do it.
Yeah, she looks like she’d had a few already.
1. LaMonte Wade Jr (L) 1B
2. M. Yastrzemski (L) RF
3. Buster Posey (R) C
4. Alex Dickerson (L) LF
5. Evan Longoria (R) 3B
6. B. Crawford (L) SS
7. Donovan Solano (R) 2B
8. Steven Duggar (L) CF
9. Johnny Cueto (R) P
Wade has been OK. He has a chance to show he can consistently play big-league ball.
Ms. Slusser said she thought May mustache looked good on him. Agree has a chance to show Giants something…maybe even for 2022 as 1b option.
The only player I am worried about is Cueto.
Pads fan Godson is at Wrigley from where he texted me pic of red banner “Wrigley Field Home of Chicago Cubs”..
One of my heroes from old Cubs is Billy Williams, and I think they have a statue of him outside the yard. Played over 1100 consecutive games at one point, in days before lights installed there. So that included steady diet of day games at home, where summer can be steady diet of 90+ with 90+ humidity too.
Remember when Pence played 162 for few years here and it might have ruined him.
Yeah 2 years in a row all 162 games 2013-2014 and not many before that did he miss.
Boch just kept writing him in the LU till it finally wore him down, lots of wear& tear on that body..
Say Willied that awesome glove with the dark skin that Gausman uses I believe is a Marucci Model I’ve never heard of? Only the former49er coach Steve comes close lol..
what was name of company that made softball bats…something similar? I used one last time I was playing, 15 years ago. Gausman’s glove is a beaut, never used one that color myself.
De Marini was my go to softball bat. They were bad ass.Problem was some were outlawed by the umpires who checked certain models before the game, cause softballs were hit like a bazooka. A line drive could kill a pitcher are a 3B/1B scoured shot. They also created so many long HR’s it was crazy..
quite a few $200+ LL bats in storage and I can’t recall any of the brands. DeMarini sounds expensively familiar. Repressed memory, clearly.
yeah that’s it thanks Kat.
Kruk and kuip back in the booth love today for the first time in forever. Let’s see if that improves their calls at all they’ve been pretty terrible this year
Live not love
I like K&K a lot, but yeah, they seem like they’re just cruising these days.
Estes showed up, having done homework, loaded with info. It drew a contrast.
Kuip especially has been mailing it in the last couple of years.
In-between “Outta here!”, he’s pretty loose and imprecise.
Life is apparently good in Blackhawk, and the checks keep rollin’ in.
I won’t repeat in detail my disgust at his post game wrap on-air snacking, a total, unprofessional diss on fans…
Kean Wong, my bad not Kolten. Saw this guy play yesterday too. And now he gets picked off , welcome!
Pads losing to Cubs 5-1 in 5th. giants come into today half game back.
Pujols looked out of shape to me. It wouldn’t surprise me if he goes 2 for his next 20.
How many of us wanted Ozuna?
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/marcell-ozuna-braves-wife-domestic-violence-arrest-mlb-170816639.html
That inexplicable Angels bunt helped the Giants out that inning.
As long as he doesn’t face the Giants.
Pujols would be scary in a beer softball league though..
Fat fuck is getting fatter and fuckier. 1-50 is more like it.
Back from the mad dash to Huntington beach. A cool 95 in the Creek. Set a record getting to Santa Monica in 5 hours flat from here. Sat in a Mexican bar and watched the GIants win, and the Lakers lose. 5.5 hours to get back cuz Kathy drove part of the way.
IS this the first game where they are letting the place fill up? Looks pretty empty.
I thought they can’t do full capacity until after June 15. I could be wrong.
It’s going to be the Wild West after June 15.
June 25 is the date for new attendance policy.
Whatever that is…
Thanks.
Pujols did feast on some cruddy bullpen pitching from the Giants.
I did enjoy Poo-hoes at 2B in extra innings knowing it’s going to take 2 hits for him to score..
Cueto doesn’t have much.
Good thing he wasn’t pitching against the Doghairs…
Cueto is at the point in his career where he needs a lot of at’em balls.
Grave-dunker!
speaking of pen guys, saw Twins guy Taylor Rogers earlier. LHP with 96 fastball. K’d first guy he faced in bottom 9 today on 3 of them. Got the W as Twins won it in 10th.
Only problems with acquiring pen help==everyone will be looking, and who would Giants have to give up on that would bring good one back?
“Eli Whiteside was a good Giant.”
lulz
Longoria’s won over a lot of his detractors…
I was never a detractor, the guys an ultimate pro.Just give him a day here and there like the rest of the BC and good things happen..
maybe, Loo. So far, old guys have been very productive, pleasant surprise that could lead to interesting 2022..
Still early.
Longoria crushed that HR for the lead!!
Longo did good there.
Longo is a mixed bag for the Giants. He killed a bases loaded rally yesterday by striking out, and had a bobble or two on defense. Today, he hits an awesome HR.
Other teams likely wondering what Twins, currently 9 games under .500, will do at deadline. Rogers for one has only been scored on once in last 7 outings in relief.
So we could have a Tyler Rogers and a Taylor Rogers in the pen?
I think the Mets once had 2 Bob Millers in their bulpen…
Wade Blast-ingame!
Wade made HR!!
Wade is getting the job done. That’s a big lift for the team.
Longo has been better for the Giants this season, definitely.
Dubey smokes another one!
lulz
flaco! Dubon now has as many HRs (4) as Dickerson.
And another HR! The new MLB! 🙂
I do remember Wade Blasingame, only because first syllable of my last name is similar and used to get called that. He played for Milwaukee Braves, and was born in Deming NM.
when I was a kid there were a series of stories I read about life in baseball youth league set in New Mexico, including Deming. I think the star/hero was called Bronc Burnett…CF was Indian called Nohtah.
I haven’t heard anyone say that they miss Amy G…
The last full season two years ago, the Giants didn’t even play on Memorial Day.
Did Kruk say Tony Watson was a great Giant?
That was a real grave robbing…
The ballpark’s a Grave robber.
helluva a pitcher the angels have in there now
I would love to ask K & K what their precise definition of a good Giant is?
Then go through a list…
Strickland apparently isn’t one of them. He was more like a grating Giant.
Seems as if very game so far this season K & K have wandered off into Max Venable references or anecdotes. Used to be more like once a week.
Don’t rule out a bunt here by the Grave Duggar…
Sheezus, glad I’m not an Angels fan.
Come to think of it, screw them. Even with 3 in 5, I’m never going to be over 2002…
It’s a shame that the Angels decided not to play Ohtani in this series.
He can’t play the OF here because it’s too big, too weird, too dangerous? Ridiculous.
I call BS. The guy is a great athlete.
I bet he’d like to play if it were up to him…
A 6-1 lead with 2 outs in the 9th, I’d boo Tropeano too.
Oh yeah. Nice win.
Nice game all around.
me either!
Back in first!
The thing I’m really liking about the Giants so far is that they are beating up, for the most part, on crap teams. They aren’t giving up crappy losses. The worst one was game 1 up in Seattle; since then, pretty much good to go against the bottom feeders. That’s a good way to get yourself into position for a WC berth…
I have some sympathy for Tropeano. If he gives up an HR to Ohtani, that goes on his ERA, and he’s trying to stick in the big leagues.
But….it would have been better for the sport to give Ohtani some pitches he could swing at.
Me either re 2002! Nice win. back in 1st!
I’ve (mostly) let 2002 go, but I don’t think I’ve watched any video of it over the years.
I have not let 2002 go
I’m probably hanging onto ‘93 more than ‘02 these days. The Padres giving McGriff to the Braves at the trade deadline still sticks in the craw.
I quite enjoy that the Padres still haven’t won a World Series.
And, of course, the expansion Rockies losing every one of their games vs. the Braves. The Braves, of course, were a Western Division team in those days. That was a lot of games!
I quite enjoy the Rockies also never winning a World Series.
And I quite enjoy that the ‘93 Braves got knocked out of the playoffs.
I really liked how the ‘93 Giants would have matched up vs. the Phillies in the playoffs. I really liked our chances.
The 89, and 02 series still hurt but the one that broke my heart was the 62 series. I lived and breathed Giants baseball and that was my first taste of pure defeat.
My first taste of that was ‘71. I was bummed that the Pirates had knocked out the Giants, but my 10 year old self just assumed the Giants would be back in the playoffs the next season.
Little did I know it would take 16 years. Yikes.
I was 10 also.
So was I
Yeah Zum, the Giants won 8 of 12 from the Phillies that season. I went to two of the games at the Vet and the Giants handily won both.

Club de Hockey! Montreal takes out Toronto coming back from 3-1 games deficit and winning away game 7.
