It’s New York everything tonight with the Mets and Mac Dog and his buddy all in the house. The Mets are a weird team. They seem like they should be better than they are. Maybe without deGrom they just don’t have that anchor they needed to get over this .500ish hump.

Or maybe this is just what the Mets always do?

I dunno, you east coasters would know better than me.

    Didn’t get off to a good start with Lindor with his teammate O’Neill getting into a heated exchange after a misplayed pop up, now the right oblique he’s been out with a month.Back soon but now they have Baez injured too I believe..

    Had a fun time last time. We went up to Sonoma and saw a concert, Chuck Prophet and the Mission Express, in Penngrove at the Twin Oaks Roadhouse, which they said has been around for 100 years. I’d never heard of the guy, but my buddy’s seen him a bunch of times. Very good show, 5-piece band, just straightforward rock ‘n roll. I would highly recommend him for you music guys. He even has a song called Willie Mays Is Up Af Bat! It was an outdoor patio-like setting, there was a food truck serving BBQ, and maybe a couple hundred people, mostly couples. And I could count on one hand the number of folks under 50. Cool way to spend the evening. Earlier we went to Point Reyes, nice little town, so I heard a good bit of the game on the radio. I guess Greenwald wasn’t doing the games this weekend.

    One more note from last night. We rented a car, which means we’d have to park in SF overnight. It’s $72 to park at the hotel, so we planned to draw the line at such thievery. At the concert, we met a guy and his wife who live up there but also have a place in SF. Eventually, he offered to let us park the car at his place, on Leavenworth just a block or two from the famous Lombard St. So he gave us the code to open his garage and we were good to go. Just an incredibly nice gesture from this couple.

    Let’s bury the Mets. They are nothing but mediocre without Degrom as proven by two other mediocre teams in Atlanta without much healthy starting pitching and sand Acuna and Osuna and a quite mediocre Phillies team both passing the Mets up in the standings. Good to catch up on your Flapfest without delivering the bacon as Blade and I failed in ’19 against the A’s.

      Yeah, we asked the guy about parking on the street, and he eventually offered his garage. Just got back from picking it up.

      Yeah, I am used to shelling-out $25-$30 to park for a game, but was shocked at how much they charged to park at the Marriott. I actually got off a little, as it is supposed to be $80 for oversized vehicles…and my Tundra certainly qualifies. That fucking thing is like navigating a damned aircraft carrier sometimes. I have a friend who lives in Milbrea, and will probably just stay with him next time I am down for a night game.
