LA Delaying the Inevitable

Good. Glad they won. This way their vacations are delayed, they have to fly all the way across the country just to have Braves fans do that stupid chop celebration in front of them. This is working out to a tee.

I thought about watching last night in hopes of seeing the bums eliminated, but did not. I hope like hell Atlanta can win one of the remaining two. Go Braves!

In 93 I went to our final series with the Braves in Atlanta. I gotta say, that chop is fucking weird. Even though the chant is somewhat timed, the chop is not, which really distracted me. It’s like the wave on acid, very strange.

    Good question, I don’t think I’ve ever read about any player even mentioning the chop. That John Patterson HR sure revved me up though and shut the chop down.

When I was in high school, probably 2-3 days a week, I would jump on the train to Bay meadows at lunch time, lay down some bets and then race back so as not to miss too many classes. For a high school kid who liked to gamble this was a pretty sweet option. Anyway, I’d make it back to school it would end and I’d go home and at 6pm there was a cable tv station that was usually Vietnamese but for 30 minutes Sam Spear would take it over and show the races for that day. It was my favorite time of the day. I haven’t watched that show in 30 years. But goddamn I am going to miss that guy…….
