Giants facing a guy I’ve never heard of, Clarke Schmidt? I hate everything about that name. He’s 27 so I can’t imagine this guy is a legit prospect. There’s some weather in NY today with the wind blowing out to left at a pretty hefty clip.
Into the second paragraph and I’m still doing a slow burn about this dude adding an “e” to the end of his first name…….
Whatever, we should at least have a chance against this guy. Cobb is an enigma. Every pitch he throws looks unhittable.

Rox beat Pads at Petco again 4-1, and former Giant Pierce Johnson got the save.
AZ knocked off Dogs in the Latrine 2-1 with rally in 8th off LH set up guy Vesia. Longoria (!) began rally with double and scored on 2 run pinch HR by Kyle Lewis.
Rox are in first place lol.
Hope Flap meet goes well and baseball happens…

These maddening moves (61 last year) will continue all year as Z can’t himself on wavier claims and players up and down all year..

Minor league baseball players ratified a historic first-ever collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with Major League Baseball. The new CBA will also improve the minor league housing policy and transportation policies, including “daily transportation to and from the field, individual travel, and team travel.” Minor league baseball has seen widespread changes in recent years with 43 franchises cut and the amateur MLB draft shortened to 20 rounds. The new deal will allow for players to receive much-needed security as a professional athlete.
Complex leagues: $19,800, up from $4,800
Low-A: $26,200 from $11,000
High-A: $27,300 from $11,000
Double-A: $30,250 from $13,800
Triple-A: $35,800 from $17,500
In addition to the new collective bargaining agreement, MLB and the minor leaguers agreed to a $185 million settlement that stemmed from a lawsuit against MLB for violating federal minimum wage laws. About time these cheap skates were held accountable.
In MLBTR story on Bryce Johnson being activated, one of bloggers said Z is working on a trade. Speculation is a Giants reliever for Yanks IKF as backup middle infielder. And yes Wisely was the casualty for Johnson taking roster spot.
We’ll see if he can actually do anything…Giants played 5 others guys in the OF Thursday, and of course have Slater and Haniger on IL while carrying an extra hitter on roster as is. It’s not ST any more.
