With all 5 of those studs clicking in unison the pressure will come off the offense and it will begin to slowly coalesce. It’s not even May yet. The Giants have a chance to be great this year.

w Manaea starting today hopefully Flores can get going. First game vs. AZ he had pinch hit 2 run double. Since then 1-13, and OPS has now dropped to worse than Yaz (.207/.294/.259), w 3 doubles 0 HRs.
One of lowest K pcts. on team (7 in 68 PAs), second only to Lee, but not making much hard contact. Maybe day game gets him back in groove.
East coast guys getting Mets feed: what is broadcaster’s take on them? They are middle of NL or lower for runs HRs slash line numbers even with Alonso and have highest payroll in league right? What happened to Jeff McNeil who went from winning batting title 2022 to below league average hitter last season? Defense hasn’t looked very good either as opposed to plays Giants have made in this series.

One thing PBP guy has harped on is pitchers have allowed way too many walks this season. And you’re right about the defense, even in their two wins over the Dodgers, they did not play clean games and mainly won by out-slugging LA.

You just know Zaidi really didn’t want to sign this guy. Expensive and risky, especially after his highly fortunate season last year. But he limited the $$$ damage and, unless Snell does conjure the second half magic, he’ll get to quietly enjoy his I told you so moment in the face of the entirely bogus pressure to “sign a star.”

It does seem harsh to remove Manaea one out away from qualifying for W up 6-0, but…The top 5 RH guys in lineup were 4-9 off him with 4 BBs. Striking out the lone LH in Conforto (0-3) is one thing, but leaving Manaea in to face Soler with 2 on after he’d thrown 101 pitches in 4 2/3 I get it.

Ramos 2-4 scored 3 drove in 2 and homered, OPS 1.083. Wonder how Slater’s hammies are.

After hitting his bomb the other night, Conforto spewed traditionalist propaganda about how playing regularly against lefties helped him keep his shoulder in and therefore improved his ABs overall. Today, the 3 helpless Ks against a struggling, mediocre lefty. Yeah, right. His life time splits show he’s not very good against lefties, and the idea that it’s a price that needs to be paid to maximize his production against RHers is fucking nonsense. He’s no better than Yaz – both of them! You can look it up.
This year he has been. Has hit at least 2 homers off lefty’s. Yaz is trash.
And, against lefties, so was his granddaddy!
